Need Help With Assignment: Beautiful Instrumentals

Hello..!

So, I'm a performance theatre major in college and I'm currently taking a class called "Stage Voice." One thing we do in the class is an exercise called "Passive Relaxation" where we lay on the floor, shut off the lights, and let our minds wander off and we let our breath become natural as we listen to beautiful instrumental music. Our instructor now wants us to bring our own instrumental music to play in the class.

The best and only thing I've been able to come up with so far is "Stephanie" from Buckingham Nicks. I lost "Django" when my computer crashed.

So, I'm wandering if anyone out there would be willing to share instrumental versions of Lindsey's songs... Anything would be appreciated - the only guideline is that its supposed to be relaxing, so an instrumental of "Gift Of Screws" for example would have the opposite of the desired effect.

Before every show on the GOS tour there were single guitar instrumental versions of a whole load of Lindsey's songs played over the PA. If you could find them they'd be perfect since they were all calm versions. I don't know if they are circulating but if anyone has them and wants to share they'd probably be perfect.

There is the instrumental off of the rumours re-release called "Brushes" - it's the intrsrumental for Never Going Back Again.

Peestie, that sounds amazing..!

I'm so upset that I missed that tour.. :( :(

nailatixela, I no longer have that version either.. unless its buried on the cd, which is probably buried at my mom's house.

 I remember when Stevie said that she practiced her ballet to Lindsey's music and that he had beautiful instrumentals. I guess it's just his words that bring her down.

There are lots of beautiful instrumentals that aren't Fleetwood Mac related. I think you are really limiting yourself by trying to use a Fleetwood Mac song, and missing out on perhaps a good opportunity to experience something new. Why not explore some classical choices? If you feel you must use a FM or related song perhaps Wild California? I believe that's the instrumental for "Try for the Sun". There is also a nice instrumental of Landslide floating around.

Me too. If I'd thought I could have got them I would have asked the sound guy at one of the gigs, but I assume he wouldn't have copies lying around the place.

Totally. Personally I suggest something by múm. They're an Icelandic band and a lot of their stuff is very ambient and most of their songs are instrumental.

I'm using a really short instrumental by Heart, but as far as classical goes, I'm not too interested because the professor uses a lot of that.

I want Lindsey songs for his specific guitar picking sound.. but I'm open to other stuff.

How about "Albatros"?

What about 'This Nearly Was Mine' from OOTC? That's really nice.

I Am Waiting is a wonderfully chilled song :) even with the lyrics, not necessarily as an instrumental

another idea

There are actually a couple of String Quartet albums of Fleetwood Mac songs. I have one of them somewhere. I think the one I have was just Rumours songs, but I believe there is another one as well. I remember the songs kind of sounded to me like they would be played in the background of a film adaptation of a Charles Dickens story. I seem to remember "Songbird" being very pretty though.
