What one celebrity annoys you the most & why?

Posh Spice:
Because she has a perfect thin figure and I am fat.
Because she's married to a hottie and I'm not.
Because she NEVER smiles in her photos and it makes her look like a &itch.

goldustsongbird 02-22-2009 09:35 PM

"Because she has a perfect thin figure "

If you like skeletons with melons for tits.

jr2280 02-22-2009 10:08 PM

Gilbert Gotfried, I dont think I need to explain why.

Villavic 02-22-2009 10:36 PM

I hated Will Ferrel in Bewitched. Never seen any of his other movies, but choosing him for Bewitched was a terrible mistake and I disliked the film because of him.

jannieC 02-23-2009 06:46 AM

I dislike most celebrities in general; their self importance and the way they take themselves so seriously bugs me. Angelina Jolie is a big NON favorite of mine.

JohnL 02-23-2009 08:47 AM

Mine is....

Angelina Jolie. She just oozes SKANK to me. And now with all this charity work and things she seems to be doing I sometimes feel guilty for it but I cannot like her. That is all there is to it.

rubytuesday 02-23-2009 09:05 AM

I don't followthe celebrity stuff except for in a doctors waiting room except one that I like is Angelina Jolie. She never seems to be out posing for attention its always images of her caught minding her own business and she seems far too aware of how stupid Hollywood hype is and how it doesn't compare to the troubles of the world. I guess she could come across as a snob but if all those Hollywood adoring people were following me and asking me who did my make-up after having come from the real world of assisting a needy cause then I'd look down at them too. I personally think a lot of females can't deal with just how pretty she is on top of actually being a good actor.

No one really annoys me but I hate that sex in the city crap and that fuss about it and so I flick quickly past if I see a picture of any of those girls. I tend not to like the ones that want to be seen and pose with there hand on there hip looking down and pouting into the cameras. I loved the way Natalie portman showed up to the awards, she just kind of strode in. And Angelina is so photographed she's beyond the point of needing to pose and her pout is obviously just an genetic unintentional thing.

jannieC 02-23-2009 09:28 AM

I forgot to say *why* I don't like Angie. I can't get over the whole Brad/Jennifer thing. Seriously though, while I do appreciate the philanthropist type work she does, there is something about her that makes me uncomfortable. She is beautiful, no doubt, and she may be a great actress; she and Brad both just bug me with what I perceive to be a smug attitude.

Who knew I had so much to say? lol

JohnL 02-23-2009 02:23 PM

i think i feel that with what they do with the rest of there time that they almost have a right to look down upon hollywood because I was watching some ofthat red carpet coverage and the discussions like they were important news was almost sickening and perhaps being right in the middle of that they see the stupidity of these people obsessed with the glamour falling all overthem and can't help but have a look on there face that says what the hell are these stupid people doing and talking about?

skcin 02-23-2009 02:46 PM

Only 1 person comes to mind: Vivica A. Fox. I can't put my finger on why...

gretchen 02-23-2009 03:06 PM

Okay, I can't just name one...

Evan Rachel Wood - talentless, trying to be goth and it's not working out :p
Tracy Morgan - guy is not funny
Vince from Shamwow LOL
All the skanky chix on the Bad Girls Club
Britney - trainwreck
LiLo - just can't stand her
Bill Maher - not that funny
SamRon - LiLo's gal pal
Miley Cyrus - annoying
Jonas Bros. - like listening to nails down a chalk board
Justin Timberlake - can't stand the dude

and I could go on and on

Neb-Maat-Re 02-23-2009 04:03 PM

Deborra-Lee Furness - Hugh Jackman's wife.

OK, not much of a celebrity in her own right but known here in Aus.

Annoying because she so blatantly lies about her age - and not just a few years.

She claims to be 49 to Hugh's 41. She used to claim to be 13 years older but has trimmed it back to 8.

We know someone in their mid 50s who went to the same school as her - and this person was 2 years behind her.

Just be proud to have a devoted good-looking younger husband.

I can't stand any of them really. I think that we, as a culture, spend too much time on our celebrities. All the gossiping and such, I've never really seen a point to it. But that's just my opinion.

ITA. As much as they irritate me, I am (morbidly) fascinated by them. It's almost like they are not human to me.:o

Nico 02-23-2009 09:02 PM

I'm not into any of them enough to be bothered, but I will say something about Angelina Jolie/Angie Jo/Saint Ange or whatever she's called now...

Her entire being just screams fake to me. Something about her, and not necessarily her charity work or the consistent press releases of her going from one third world country to another with a camera documenting, picking up kids, adopting, etc. It's like she wants people to love her and loves the attention she garnishes from everything she does.

Frankly, I have never been impressed with her as an actress, and from what I have observed of her in interviews she just seems pretty dull, vapid, pretentious (in the way where one is apparantly trying to come off as naturally intelligent by sounding extra haughty and raising their eyebrows in a pseudo-intellectual pose).

I can't criticize her for her humanitarian work. I commend it. There are so many rich, useless people out there buying overpriced stuff and being photographed in clubs or trying on new outfits that, truthfully, that is her saving grace. But that's also the thing that bugs me because I think she knows it. Why would she have to be so public about it when so many others have done even more without having it leaked in the press how much they donated, or pictures all over the media showcasing everything? I understand the theory that those in the public eye want to bring attention to those in need and use their celebrity to do good, but she goes a bit overboard.

And as for her and Brad Pitt? I don't care. I've always liked him as an actor, but he's become a complete dullard.

sparky 02-25-2009 01:17 AM

Celebrities, as a rule, annoy me.

I have to work with a lot of them, and have pretty much met all of the ones I ever wanted to meet. But thankfully, that has been in professional settings. Not in odd fan circumstances. Some actors and musicians are extremely kind and generous people, and a certain percentage of them are monsters.

Who knows why some of them bother us and others don't?

I would like to address one subject, though. And that is Angelina Jolie. As far as I can remember, I have never seen a single one of her performances. However, I have had the pleasure of meeting her on more than one occasion, and she is 100% down to earth, sweet, funny, and absolutely gracious. On a side note, her mother was one of the sweetest people I have had the opportunity to know.

Maybe Angelina's persona and the way she is portrayed in the press grates on some of you. It happens.

She isn't a bad person. In fact, she is a lovely and kind human being. She always has been to me, anyway. And she has never had any reason to kiss up to me or put on an act.

She's the real deal.

The media portrayal of people is not always reality.

Well, that means something. Honestly, the only thing most of us have is the public image to go by. I'm not crazy about her persona, but as I mentioned, the things she does in terms of charity are absolutely 100% commendable. I can't see how anyone could find fault when some of those celebs just shop and show off their splendor. Since you have personally met her and say she is sweet, etc, I believe you. She's probably shy and not concerned about coming off as personable or charming. Good for her and thank you for the info!! BTW, her mother was absolutely stunning. As pretty as Angelina is, her mother was, like, 10 times more gorgeous from what I saw...

trackaghost 02-25-2009 10:28 PM

That's so cool to hear about Angelina Jolie, Sparky. I've actually always liked her (never much of a fan of Jen to tell the truth), I think the work she does is incredible and although she gets lots of press for it, it would be hard not to considering how famous she is and who she's married to. Plus, she's Goodwill Ambassador for the UN so it's kinda part of the job description to get publicity for it.
I do think she's a great actress too, her performance in Changeling is particularly good, she definitely deserved her Oscar nomination for it.

I'm more annoyed by celebrities who are famous for being famous really but I understand how people get sick and tired of stars like Angelina and Brad when they're in the press all the time. I'm sure even they get sick of seeing themselves in the press.

Rihanna annoys me in ways I can't begin to explain...

Okay, I lied.

Firstly, I don't condone what Chris Brown's supposedly done to her. No one should be subjected to that, annoying or not. She irks me, but I would never wish her ill.

I don't like her voice that much. It sounds monotonous and nasally. And she's on the radio pretty much all the time, so she's getting repetitive. When my favourite female singers are Stevie, Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Joni Mitchell and Ann Wilson, you can really hear the talented from the not-so talented. And, personally, I can't see it in her. She relies too much on her looks, and I don't like her style, either. Some of what she wears is pretty weird, but each to their own, I guess. I just think she looks like she's dressed in the dark.

gypsysoul 02-26-2009 05:20 PM

I'm with you totally Sparky. I've met Angelina Jolie several times - not only is she utterly stunning looking, she has that undefinable charisma that separates the true star from the 'celebrity'.

I have found her warm, intelligent and genuine. She has a natural warmth that supposed 'girl next door' Aniston can only dream of. It's funny how the media images of these two are so unlike the women I met. Angelina was someone I felt I would happily choose as a friend in other circumstances. Aniston was a horrid, sour old trout.
My ex also know Brad Pitt and said he was one of the nicest guys you could meet.

Again, in terms of 'nice' image being at variance with the real thing - Kylie Minogue - vile dwarf!

Lindsey Jr. 02-26-2009 05:20 PM

yeah I get annoyed by celebrities who are famous for being famous. Not like the two princes but more the ones who love the attention. William and Harry are the kind who hate the attention but the paris hilton types. I remember when there were news stories that Britney wanted to date william or was dating him or something and it was like *facepalm* cause I knew them a little back then (they had stayed at our place and met them a few times when they would come to Scotland and I knew william a bit at university cause we already knew a little of each other and had a few classes together) and he was soooo not into that, he was kind of dorky and it was just ridiculous (Harry was much more fun to get along with and he might have found it kind of funny though). And the difference between those celebrities like paris and britney, and then Angelina is that they go out to be spotted and photographed and put in magazines while photos of her are always candid paparazzi ones that she'd probably rather weren't taken, she doesn't go out for attention otherthan when its for charity.

Nice, she was the first to pop in my head. I agree with the above. I mean, you pretend to be other people, so what? I think acting is an amazing artform but the reverence with which actors are treated is unwarrented. I also don't find her so attractive, too bony and frankly a bit scary to me.

I agree; especially since nowadays many celebrities have done nothing to actually warrent being celebrated and found stardom by taking off their clothes, sleeping with someone or being born into money. To me, a celebrity should be someone who is outstanding in their field and actually have something valuable to say. To be honest I don't find a lot of celebrities annoying, I just find them boring.

1sttimelongtime 02-27-2009 09:53 PM

I dont know if she is a celebrity, and I guess it is really a character that annoys me, but whoever that woman is who played Bruce Willis girlfriend in Pulp Fiction nearly had me ripping my hair out and running from the theater, screaming. She was like fingernails on a blackboard for me. UGH!!!

Does anyone know who the hell that was?

Octomom Nadya Suleman

She had 6 kids, she's on disability due a back injury yet managed to get in vitro fertilized and carry 8 babies within her . . . as she looses her home to foreclosure and can't keep track of the 6 kids she already has. She's using "the system," her neighbors, and the local school teachers to barely manage the 6 under 7 year old children already living at home. She has no plan in place to care for the other 8. She doesn't want publicity, but she's on TV every time you turn around. The "father" of all these children is the "big secret." I just hope it's not Michael Jackson.

Not to mention she somehow found the cash to get her nose and lips done in an attempt to resemble Angelina Jolie.

To be totally honest I haven't been too keen on Jessica Simpson lately.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a "hater", but she needs to get some problems.
Some magazines called her "plump" or whatever; big whoop-dee-doo.
There's people starving in Botswana. She needs to tell her Dad to mind his
own damn business, start acting like an adult and grow up and start living
a real life. :p
