Official Website

Fleetwoodmac.com is still displaying the "new website coming soon" page. Does anyone know what the hold-up is?

There are also typo(s) on the bottom of the page: "For tour information coming soon. Keep checking back here for the latest tour info."

They should at least go in and fix that last part!

MacMan 02-15-2009 09:36 PM

Pretty sad isn't it? Band like Fleetwood Mac with their history - and they don't even have a spot on the web officially. I'm not even sure who's responsible for such a thing - would it be the Management? Or the record company? If it's the record co., then I would almost understand it - they've likely got skeleton staff working for them now...But if it's Management, then Azoff and his buddies should get off their asses already. That "coming soon" thing has been up their for a couple of years now.

I was thinking that they figure that a certain percentage of their fans could care less about the website... I don't know. Either way, I am with you on this being SAD!!! No matter if it is the management, or the record company- Fleetwood Mac could say, "THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE!" - "SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIX THIS SITE!" Hey, even Taylor Dayne keeps her website up and running. Micheal McDonald even has a website!!! EVEN MICHEAL McDONALD, for crying out loud!!! Dear Fleetwood Mac, either you fix it, or have someone fix it! LOL I am sure Lindsey doesn't know, or is throwing a fit. He knows the importance of maintaing a website. His rocks. I thought that Stevie's was cool, but Lindsey definitely has the better site... (He's finally better than Stevie at something!!! HAHAHA Just kidding! Only joking!) HEY- side note: I just found out that their sit eis maintained by a publicity management group... So, I am thinking we can thank the promoters for their "hard work" on the .com website. I am just happy i got fleetwoodmac.net... That's all I really need.

Don't you know Fleetwood Mac is far too busy rehearsing the same songs they've been doing for the past 30 years to have any time whatsoever to even think about their website.

David 02-16-2009 11:01 AM

The Internet just isn't their thing.

MacMan 02-16-2009 12:11 PM

I haven't looked at the site in awhile, just looked now and at least it's been updated with the additional tour dates that were added up to May 31st. For the longest time, there was no mention of them... So someone is sort of on top of it.

GypsyGirl15 02-16-2009 12:16 PM

I love how they put the link to the design contest up a week before it ends.

skcin 02-16-2009 12:36 PM

It's embarrassingly bad. I'm sure it's management's fault, but are any of the band members giving a ****? I kind of doubt it. If they did, we'd have an updated website. it's not that hard - someone could do it in a day or two.

Just reminds me how last minute/thrown together this whole tour strikes me as.

Fans would do a much better job at keeping an official website and updating with the latest news, pictures, other stuff of interest ... but that's what we have fleetwoodmac.net and all those blogs for. It's a shame their management/they don't seem to care about their fans enough to give them all that though.

Probably. And probably internet is not their best skill, but it would be easy to hire anybody to update and put far better pages.

If they hire me, I'd do it in ONE SECOND. I would just redirect www.fleetwoodmac.com to www.fleetwoodmac.net/penguin and the band gets the best offical website ever!!!!:laugh::thumbsup:

And I´m still waiting for mails, since I joined the official mail list at fleetwoodmac.com. How innocent I am!!

melodicrocker 02-16-2009 05:06 PM

When I was first browsing around I thought that this was the official site...

Anyway if it's been two years like someone said, they clearly don't seem to care about having a website, which is a big mistake in my opinion.

You said it.

It's scary... :distress:

kennation 02-17-2009 03:11 PM

The only thing that scares me about this tour is the fact that the setlist isn't finalized, yet. I have faith that this will be a great tour. HOPEFULLY.

Me too. I think the setlist is almost decided but they won't tell us completely before the tour begins.

And though I wish they don't play Rhiannon and GYOW, and include other never played songs, like Tango in the night, if they perform the usual songs, I'll enjoy it anyway. This could be the last tour.

I am down with that, but I would like to hear Rhiannon and GYOW- just done DIFFERENTLY... Make GYOW accoustic! Make rhiannon piano only... Just do it differently. That's all. I am sure they will give us enough gems that we will leave satisfied... Maybe not dripping wet with satisfaction, but close, lol.

goldustsongbird 02-18-2009 03:14 PM

It has said that since before SYW came out.

Villavic 02-28-2009 05:57 PM

Well less than a week for the tour and they still show the "NEW WEBSITE COMING SOON" ad at the homepage

And I'm still waiting for mails, cause I joined the mailing list weeks ago. OHH VILLAVIC YOU ARE SOO SILLY!!!!

animal 02-28-2009 07:55 PM

do they have a myspace or facebook page? just being sarcastic.

I think it's a pretty poor show when their official web site is really non existent. Especially as it could be used as a marketing tool / fanclub money grab.

Someone needs to smack them into 2009. No seriously.

mylittledemon 01-26-2013 01:31 PM

Wasn't sure if anyone's checked out the official website lately... they've got some new stuff in the shop!

I hate to say it but I'd totally spend $100 those bundles. And I probably will. :distress: NO self-control.

That poster looks like a beer or wine label.

mylittledemon 01-26-2013 02:11 PM

yeah that poster sucks... poor idea and painfull boring... I would've much rather had one of the outtakes of Mick and Stevie doing the classic cover pose instead.

michelej1 01-26-2013 02:35 PM

The poster and t-shirt are both as unexciting as possible. They just found an unpublished picture of Diana Spencer and sold it at auction.

I am sure that FM must have some unpublished pictures of themselves from the early days that they can throw out there to up the ante.

Michele

Macfanforever 01-26-2013 06:07 PM

Stevie and Mick should of recreate the 1977 Rumours cover shot for this upcoming tour.

THANK YOU! Unexciting is the word I was looking for.

& Totally agree about the photos. I want my BN pics too. You know they're in that freaking vault somewhere....

That is an amazing idea!! I wonder if it's ever crossed their minds...I bet Stevie has thought about it.

Well, the Dance cover even addressed it, on Mick's side at least.

I got an e-mail from their official mailing list today about the 35th anniversary Rumours bundles, tour dates, and the VIP packages Mick is offering.
