Question about Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh
I am looking at going to this concert. Can someone who is familiar with this venue tell me how restrictive they are with security?
Do they give "front row" ticket holders bracelets so that they are the only ones allowed up front? Are there any obstructions in Section 3 (near front) that would hamper my view of the stage. It does no good, IMO, to pay $$$ and then get there and be stuck behind some equipment that prevents a good view. Thanks in advance! |
Ticket Drops Starting For Pittsburgh
The MAC is starting to drop primo seats for Pittsburgh and ILAA still hasn't closed sales yet which means the seats may get even better. Right now they are dropping seats in rows F-H in sections 1 and 3 and they seem to have quite a few. It also seems the more you order the better the seat. Good luck all.:wavey:

Hey Carol they have opened up 4th row in section A for 3/8/9 Auburn Hills/Detroit Michigan show... Do you think it's ILAA starting to give up what seats they had reserved???
|
^Yep, I just bought a 4th row ticket for Auburn Hills on TM.

I didn't expect tickets to drop this soon though. And, fourth row for Auburn Hills-that's definitely what I was waiting for.:blob2:Let's see if the trend holds true for the rest of the first leg. Carol-Lynn SoCalGalNow |
This is absolutely amazing!!! I hope something like this happens in Columbus. It's probably the only way I'd get to go- since my parents' divorce and all of that. If anyone finds anything out about Columbus, can they let us know?
Thanks!! |
Sh, shizz! There are 7th and 9th row seats for Nassau Coliseum (Long Island) coming up... grrr... should I get these now or should I wait until the week of the show... Sophie's Choice for realz... :distress:

Can we please combine all of these "ticket dropping" threads? We're going to end up with 40 different ones if people start one for each city. I don't want to have to wade through all of them to find other threads. It's worse than off-topic banter.

Depends
If you want to get to the stage and they are not aisle seats then I'd wait. As, I said earlier, ILAA has not closed sales yet and they are not sold out which means they are probably sitting on some 5 star, 2nd or better row seats. These seats seem like 4 star seats to me.

I've been to Mellon Arena many times and I've never gotten seats close enough to know about bracelets. Security has never been too bad. I've taped quite a few shows there. For SYW I was on the floor back by the sound guy and we could see fine. My seats for the upcoming show are section 6. Which I think will be fine too. Section three should give you good visibitly as long as your not to the side of the stage.

Hello. I have been to shows at mellon arena numerous times and security has always been ok as long as you arent blocking the aisles or standing on your chair. I had 3rd row for Bon Jovi last year and they didnt give us bracelets or anything. The only annoying thing is when you go to get a beer or use the bathroom you have to show your ticket 3 times to get back to your seat, HA! I have sat in sections 1,2 and 3 and you will have a great view no matter where you are at there. Ticketmaster has some good seats on there now but if you arent sure you can always call mellon arena and ask about the exact location of the seats. Good luck!

Ive been to tons of shows at the Igloo. Security isnt too bad. During the SYW a friend of mine ran up to the stage from the back of the floor and got to strum Lindsey's guitar. That says enough right there.

I actually went to Ticketmaster today to see if there were better seats and low and behold, I got Section 1, row G. I had bought on the first day of sales and got Section 6, row R. Now I need to sell those tickets. But I'm really excited that I'm in Section 1. I've never been that close in Mellon Arena before. Should be pretty good.

Of course, the last time I was there, you could still smoke inside, so it could've changed, but Jbby's comment about the SYW tour makes me think not. I'm watching TM for better seats and haven't been able to land closer than row J in the 1st and 3rd floor sections, but I shall keep watching. |

Last time I was at mellon arena for a concert was bon jovi and we were in section 3 row c seats 11 and 12 and we were pretty close to the end. This was the end by the igloo seats not the end closest to section 2 so the numbers must start with 1 going from right to left if you are facing the stage. I hope this helps. I was surprised though that as far over as we were that we still had a great view of the stage so you should be good with any seat. Good luck!
