Yikes!! I am by no means an interior decorator, but none of those rooms make an ounce of sense.

gretchen 01-28-2009 02:40 PM

I do like Kristen's eclectic style, although my tastes lean more toward relaxed French/Provençal. I love her website and in the 'portfolio' section you can see a few pictures of their current home. Stunning. Beautiful gardens!

BTFLCHLD 01-28-2009 02:44 PM

me likes all except the bathroom.
and where the heck is that 70s bucket couch?

TrueFaith77 01-28-2009 02:45 PM

Oh I hate to say this, but I love it!! Wow, I'm really impressed. Everything was just perfect -- and slighty off-kilter. Reminds me of the inside of Law & Order.

Intrigued by this bit:
It brings to mind one of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs, "Gyspy". Lindsey describes his wife's aesthetic as "a combination of traditional and edgy". Whatever you decide to call it, it is absolutely personal, just as Kristen intended.
One question: Since when did Kristen become an "Interior Designer"?... I thought she was a "Photographer"?

michelej1 01-28-2009 02:46 PM

This is terrific. Thanks Livia!

Does Will have a british flag in his bedroom? Well, I don't know how it's meant, but I take it as a nod to the 3 Macsters. Thank you very much!

Michele

ps I think it is marvelous that Kristen has found something she truly seems to enjoy and has a passion for in addition to photography.
Her site is verycool...great work webmaster!

Some would say she's always been "neither".

Ouch, Kristen, do you need some ointment for that burn?

Will's bedroom appears to have two beds- why?

Some would say he likes to play with his little imaginary friend, Luke.

mylittledemon 01-28-2009 03:54 PM

My wife just saw the pics and said the house is very "girly"

=o

henryscutter 01-28-2009 03:54 PM

wow Fugly

It looks like she is spending LB's money well. I dont see much talent, but she def has financial backing.

Madness Fades 01-28-2009 04:19 PM

Were Building a house at the minute, so this is all buzz to me. Cant say I like so many pictures on the wall in that first picture. But the kitchen is to die for. I love the great big Kitchen Unit and the Huge Range Cooker.

Why does Will have a Union Jack Flag in his Bedroom??? Anyone???
Cool to see a guitar beside his bed, is he gonna try and follow in his Da's footsteps.

Love the wooden floor in the Boho Study, that wasnt cheap either.

All in all it's a lovely traditional family home with all signs of work put aside. Just the way he wants it im sure.

If I were the son of Lindsey Buckingham, I don't think I'd ever so much as touch a guitar. Wonder what that says about me.

shackin'up 01-28-2009 05:04 PM

I am so glad that my nine-year-old son has a bedroom of a nine-year old. By the way, the whole house is f"cking ugly, despite the jasper johns.

I see why LB spends all his time in a studio.

Dunno, Might be that the Europeans have very different taste from the US. The room with all the pictures on the wall reminds me of amsterdam would you believe.

I wonder have MTV Cribs ever knocked on their door ???

Oh yes there are some nice pics. but this isn't about designtaste. It's about living in a house that breathes "life" or that breathes "hotel room". And that Will-room is not a childs-room. Period.

Or on the road ;) It seems odd to put pictures of your son's room in a design magazine IMHO

I suspect the flag is a tribute to the family name, Buckingham, and his room is his palace. ;)

So the kid's room has a "theme"? I would think a boy's room would be adorned with sports and pop stars.

well it definitely doesnt look like a young boys room. My room looked nothing like that when I was 10

Just took a look at the site... her portfolio consists entirely of their current house & their last one- pretty thin. Lindsey may very well need to buy/tear down/build another new house to help bolster it (hey, that means another cover story!)

Yes, Will's room would be an odd place to acknowledge FM's origin, but I will just fantasize a bit here:laugh:.

(and another house) imagine the possibilities...they are endless. you're funny.

My guess is Lindsey and Will like their surroundings.
I know my nephew dug his new 'mature' room.

DESTINYRU!ES 01-28-2009 07:28 PM

I would think living in a home where my every day life was compartmentalized to fit into "the museum quality unlived life look but life lives here look" to be unharmoniousily crappy. And that's Will's bedroom? Not one dirty sock, he's ten!?:o.

Did anyone notice the very Gypsyesk video Lindsey hat in the one photo?

PoetofRhiannon 01-28-2009 09:36 PM

I happen to like it.
Would I live in it?
Hmm. Probably not.
But I do think that it is wildly creative.
:D

BTFLCHLD 01-28-2009 10:01 PM

OH YEA one would do a photo spread for Elle Decor and portfolio with dirty socks and 'life' lounging around. you peeps crack me up.
There's a skit from I Love Lucy or The Honeymooners in here somewhere... ;)

Yes, I noticed it and I got giddy, but then I figured the hat probably belonged to Kristen.

As for the house: the only thing i like is the kitchen.
All the other rooms make me feel sorry for whoever needs to clean them. All those trinkets !
The rooms also do not have a lived-in look, but remind me of a showroom.

Sahara 01-29-2009 05:04 AM

If I was going to have my house shown off in a magazine, I'd make sure there were no dirty socks lying around too, to be honest....! Perhaps that explains the showroom look.

That said, kids' rooms should definitely not have themes. The kitchen and bathroom are beautiful, though, and I'd kill for a study like that...!

louielouie2000 01-29-2009 07:44 AM

Yikes... the place looks like a 97 year old Granny's pad. I love so many of the things I see in the picture... just not together, and not with as MANY of them as there are. And I'm all about combining styles too (I love combining antique things with retro modern stuff. I have my own patented Retro Modern Witchy style as I call it ). The couch is awesome... but totally wrong for the setting. I agree too you shouldn't theme your kids rooms... let them do their own thing in their rooms. I just can't understand how they've gone this WRONG with their current house after their Bel Air one was so amazingly done .

Wasn't it beautiful? I have those pics somewhere, maybe someone could repost them?

kennation 01-29-2009 11:15 AM

Okay... I LOVE LOVE LOVE the design... I love it!!! I could move in, right now! LOL I said to my friends when I saw it, "It is everything that is me... I love it!" I know it is not the taste of many, but it is my taste.

DavidMn 01-29-2009 01:01 PM

I think the rooms have a few too many pictures on the wall, but other than that, I dont really mind it.

WildHeart69 01-29-2009 01:52 PM

Does anyone have the pics of their OLD house that they sold a couple years ago?? It was on a real estate site and I dont know if anyone saved the pics...
