Ticket Prices for 'Unleashed'
 

I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but it just hit me...are they out of their #$@! minds? $147?!!

They've got a damned cheek in the current economic climate. I wouldn't see them even if they decided to go to Europe. I absolutely refuse to line their pockets further.

I'm saying, it is ridiculous... but the thing is, how many more times is this band likely to tour? Therefore, do you pay the money to go see them??? It leaves me in a pickle.... and I don't like pickles.

It's a lounge act now, as far as I am concerned. This 'hits' tour, and the re-release of Rumours (yet again), have left a very sour taste in my mouth. They're well past their best and I don't want to see them again. I would rather remember them as they were, at their height.

Have you seen them before?

I'm gladly and proudly buying scalped tickets at 8:46 p.m. on the day of the Boston show. Once the crickets start chirping and the first strains of 'The Chain' are played the scalpers slash their prices to more than half the actual ticket price. I'm bringing 70 bucks, no ATM card, and I plan on having a few beers that night too. If I don't get in, WAH! I won't get to hear FM songs performed by 10 back up singers, 15 guitarists, 5 keyboard players, and 9 drummers. Only one bass needed, of course.

I CANNOT WAIT!!! I am counting the days down! I love this, "lounge act" they are my favorite greedy people, IN THE WORLD! I will keep paying if they keep playing!!!

Did not know that about the scalpers..... Only thing is we can't really do that. We're going to be a family of either 3 or 4, although we aren't planning on ALL sitting together... but I don't think we could risk that. Got any advice?

I totally agree with everyone that this tour is /was a bad idea. Perhaps they thought having been away for 5 years would make for soo much demand that tickets would move quickly. I DID buy tickets for Ottawa only because it is my hometown and I hope to hear Sara and Seven Wonders.

What bothers me the most about the baby boomer bands is that most of them can't even have hit single on the radio anymore (Chicago, FM, Rolling Stones etc) and yet here they are gauging us die hard fans to line their pockets. The Eagles though I think have to be the worst simply because they throw in so much solo material instead of trying to to play some lesser known Eagles material and the fact that they play everything not for note instead of being spontanious. As well since they only 7 studio albums of all new original material it means you can buy all of the albums and still not have paid for decent ticket to their concert.

Exactly. They haven't put out any new material in 6 years now, and it's beginning to look like they won't again. I would be somewhat more tolerant of them if they were supporting new material, but they're not. This is just another blatant cash grab, without a doubt their most blatant to date. At least with the Dance they had a few new songs... this time around we get bupkiss. The fact that they're demanding these insane ticket prices in this economy is pouring salt on the wounds too. I think about the only way I'd go see them this time around is if I were guaranteed they'd play Sisters Of The Moon. I have now heard Insider and Sara in concert... now if I could hear Sisters I'd die a happy man :laugh: .

They sent out an email saying the price for a VIP package for the Uniondale show had been "adjusted" and they refunded $100 per ticket.

I have never seen Fleetwood Mac, and I really want to, so I am willing to pay such prices to see them. I have also never seen Stevie or Lindsey solo, so I am really hurting to see them!

$100 refund is better than nothing. Glad they did that.

buying a deuce or single from a scalper is easier than buying 3 or 4 (in my experience at least). Dealing with a scalper is a slightly shady endeavor, perhaps illeagal even, so family members may not want to be involved. Also, it's a gamble. You may end up not getting in, there's always that chance, and that may be a risk that someone in your group may not want to take, particularly if the venue is far from home. If it's you and friend going, I'd say go for it...particularly if you're on a budget. If it's you and your family, I'd bite the bullet and purchase tickets through a broker.

It's fine to call them a lounge act once you've seen them, and although I'd rather hear some new material or some concert rarities at a gig, I've never seen them before so I'll take what I can get. (Which, at the moment, is nothing since they haven't announced any Europe dates, but you know what I mean!)

Lounge acts don't get to play arenas. They play lounges.

Although lowering a price to $795 doesn't say "failure" to me. It says "sanity."

I've seen the band in various incarnations seven times. If you haven't seen them, then go. I may see them in Columbus, but it'll be to see John McVie. He's my favorite bassist, and he rarely (in the truest sense of the word) tours outside of Fleetwood Mac. I think he's only done a John Mayall tour or two since joining Fleetwood Mac.

I totally agree this tour is all about the $$ for them....at least to me thats all its about really.....not about the fans (esp us die-hards)....I'm sure it'll be the same old set list with some songs 'switched' around to make it look different.....they are all now too old to change and set in there ways. If change walked up and bit them in the face they still wouldn't do it. They all like there standered 'set list' (just like Stevie likes her same old forever song songs too).....so as much as I've been a fan over 20 some yrs....the prices aren't worth it....at least not to me....esp to not hear anything different. It is what it is......If you can go enjoy yourself.....but for me....I'll just save my $$ right now. :shrug::rolleyes:
I'm like someone else said.....I'll remember the 'band' the way I want to remember them....to me they aren't inspired ....its a business & there only going through the motions right now....sad but so true. (same with Stevie solo.....motions....)IMO anyway....no offence anyone....

Well tehy will chrge what teh market will bare. And it looks like they are selling well at this point.

I read that the Elton/Joel team had to lower prices on their ticks from 175 down to 125 so maybe FM will do the same in time.

Not sure though why peoople are surprised or annoyed that FM is charging what they are. They have always been a high end and demanding touring band. Stevie always talks as if they are royalty traveling around the world " we don't do buses". Anyway not saying they are right to charge 150 just that it is not a surprise.

For me this is not a must see tour. This tour should be called the we are doing it for the money tour.

They reduced (and subsequently refunded the difference) the All Access premium package price.
They canceled a show due to poor ticket sales.

For myself that would be December of 1979..I think this time I'll stay home and relive that show.A great band at it's artistic zenith..and the end of an era ..in so many ways.

I don't know. I'm sort of torn. I'd like to see them again. I saw them for the first time in 2003, but they don't have any new material this time. It's just a greatest hits tour right now. And ticket prices are high. I did pay quite a lot for U2 (seeing them for the first time), but they had new material & even though I was in the nosebleed section during that show, it was really worth it. I'm not sure it would be really worth it for FM. Maybe if I got good seats, but I doubt that I'd be able to. I'd go to the Philly show. It's also bad that the show in the middle of the week. If they released some new material & then toured, it would be a different story for me anyway.

Happens ALL the time even during a booming economy.

You know if people want to spend their hard earned money to see this band, I get that and respect it. Especially if you haven't seen them, or you still have the addiction that FM can create... I had a point in my life where I looked at all my record albums every day. (then cassettes) (then cd's) (then DVD- A) etc.. It's all good, and I get it..

For me however, it's like going to see the same scripted movie, only the quality of the movie gets worse, and the cast isn't as broad as it was when I saw the movie for the first time. There are few added scenes, the plot is virtually the same. In fact, the movie is so over-produced I can't tell which actor/actress is doing what anymore. And then as the credits roll.. I realize they charged me more to see this movie....

Again for me, going to see Lindsey solo would be a little more suspenseful and exciting.. even tho he's gotta throw in Go Your Own Way... you get more for your money..

I think I may be in luck because my mom just told me that Fleetwood Mac will come to Nebraska! Woohoo! (Hopefully they don't cancel like LB did in Lincoln ten minutes before the show :) )

hilarious and true. even so, lounge acts still sell tickets. ive never seen them live before and im sure not going to miss a chance to do it now. you never know if this is the last one.

which reminds me of a time ten years ago when my dad took me to see Springsteen and his reunited E Street Band because "they might not tour ever again".

Everyone knows that this tour is a cash grab, so why am I going? I'm going to bring my kids to see FM live for the first time. I took them to see Lindsey's UTS tour, and now they're begging to see FM. I also want Lindsey to be able to afford more solo tours, which I enjoy more than FM at this point.
