Limo Driver Won't Tell
[No info here, so I'm not sure why I'm posting, but whatever . . .]
Excerpt from article in Northern Star by Rebecca Lollback , January 10, 2009 http://www.northernstar.com.au/story...tar-clientele/ LIMO DRIVER'S STAR CLIENTELE BALLINA-based limousine driver John Felsch has had his fair share of celebrity clients. But his favourite was country singer bombshell Dolly Parton. “She is just my dream girl,” he said. “I also had (Fleetwood Mac singer) Stevie Nicks and that was pretty memorable. I won't tell why.” |

I wonder what happened.
Seriously, though. |
Maybe had an affair with her. Or maybe, if it was 70's to 80's, it could've been memorable for another reason.
|
Just being able to drive Stevie some place would make me happy - LOL.

It had something to do with a monkey. |
The thing is, it could be something really innocuous, like she had a terrible sense of direction and insisted that he take an labyrinthian route. But by being withholding and mysterious, he makes us suspect bigger, more salacious things.

Either tell the story or don't mention it at all, jackass. |

Hmmm, I notice the limo driver is from Ballina. It's really most famous for the Big Prawn, which, in a move I think smacks of false advertising, isn't even that big.
I realise he's obviously had to drive out of Ballina to pick up all his famous passengers, but like everyone else, I'm quite sure he's just added a hint of scandal to make a better story for the regional paper. But hey, I'm still jealous. It's a great story to have, whatever happened. |

Stevie was very frustrated with Jane and the monkey (please see Street Angel bashing thread), and she went on an on about it with the limo driver. So the story continues: Stevie: "Well I just left the research center, Jane is really mad" Limo Driver: "Yes, go on" Stevie: "Anyway, she asked me to apologize to Barry" Limo Driver: "Barry?" Stevie: "The monkey" Limo Driver: "Well?" Stevie: "Nothing doing. Listen driver, I didn't do anything. It's the monkey that should be apologizing to me!" Limo Driver: "Well, I don't think that's going to happen" (there's more, don't you worry Ledgies) |

This, my friends, is how urban legends get started. Just think, iamnotafraid, ten years from now, some fledgling Stevie fan will be like, "You know, I heard that Stevie had this problem with this monkey named Bobby or Barry or something, and anyway, her and Jane Goodall totally got into a fistfight over it, and I think the phrase 'pistols at dawn' was involved, too." or "Anyone have a copy of Street Angel that includes the Jane Goodall fight in the liner notes? Mine doesn't have it, so I am thinking it must've been just for a limited edition - can I get a scan???? THANKS!" |
Maybe
Maybe the limo driver was Lindsey Buckingham and the monkey did apologize and passed out cigars to which Christine partook, because Christine was in the limo too.
This was how the band really got started, not the Mick story, but the monkey, its all about Barry and his apology.:blob2: |

GypsyGirl, glad you want more of this story told. Zombie, It wasn't a fistfight, more of a CAT FIGHT (based on liner notes from the Street Angel Promo) I'm surprised more of you don't know this story. Much of it can be found on an old song released on the Uncirculated Rumours set. Parts of the song lyrics were used by Bob Dylan for his song "Tweeter And the Monkey Man" (slight changes in lyrics of course). And Even Lindsey used some of the lyrics to write "Big Love". A few verses from Stevie's Song "Stevie and the Monkey": The monkey and I were hard up for cash, we'd blown it all the night before doing cocaine and hash. Then a friend named Jane, for reasons unexplained, she loved the Monkey, ...man. I was a girl scout before I fell in love with Buckingham, And then found out the hard way nobody gives a damn. Buckingham never liked the monkey,..man. Even back in childhood he wanted to see them locked up in the can. ___________________________________________ Now how could a story like that be made up? With Stevie, Lindsey, Jane, Dylan, the limo driver and most importantly the MONKEY all together like that. |

And Remy, I left out the verses that started with "Well". With all those "wells" left in, I would have had to type forvever. |
This thread was bumped for "mylittledemon" and "enchanted Stevi".
They begged for information on Barry. I will not disappoint my fellow Ledgies. |

On Edit: Okay, okay I'm slow- I'm with you now. |
