Random Facts About Fleetwood Mac
 

Okay, so these are more of facts that relate to me, but feel free to post yourself!

~When I was little, the White Album cover SCARED THE HECK OUT OF ME. Well, I didn't know what I was listening to, but when I saw the cover... I think I must have started crying or something. And it's all John McVie's fault.

~From the cover of Fleetwood Mac, I assumed they were a band of men. I also assumed that Jackson Browne had short brown hair and stubble. Don't ask me why.

~The first time I REALLY listened to The Dance, I thought Christine McVie was a man. I said, "Mommy, this guy sounds really weird!" My mother: "..." *gasp* Sorry Christine, I really do love your voice now.

~The first time I remembered hearing Seven Wonders, I said "This lady's voice is really weird." My mom ".... NOOOOOOOOOOOO! STEVIE NICKS HAS A GREAT VOICE!!!"

~I thought Lindsey Buckingham was a girl.

~I thought the lyrics to Eo17 were "Just like the world we know" instead of "Just like the white winged dove."



Yes, I know. I was a troubled child.

The first time I saw the Mirage LP, I assumed that Fleetwood Mac consisted of an English music teacher, a mannequin, a security guard, a giant, and an effeminate Greek god.

My mom and I once had almost the exact same conversation. :laugh:

*Rhiannon comes on the radio*
My mom: Oh, Fleetwood Mac
Me: wtf? I hate them.
My mom: *runs red light*

The first time I heard Red Rover, I thought he was saying, "Christine you were dying . . ." instead of "could see".

I still do! (At least he ACTS like a big girl. He's the biggest drama queen in the band, and THAT band has Stevie Nicks in it!)

That was brilliant! :laugh: I've laughed till tears. That was such an intelligent observation. I imagine a cartoon-like cover of Mirage, now.

Christine with a tie, with an air or authority, and a stick in her hand to beat the rythm: YOU ARE LATE!!!!
and Apolo, god of music, trying not to step on his tunic, walking in little steps, curly hair under a golden tiara (true he looks very greek-like to me) whinning because the teacher is very strict.
and stevie says: don't look at me, i'm just a mannequin XD
while all this happens, the security guard and the giant have become friends and play poker in the entrance, letting the rest kill themselves if they want to.

That's about right :laugh:

My wife ask what FM meant on a key chain for sale at a Fleetwood Mac concert. I think the who line at the table turned and looked at her.

Ooh! That would have been brutal . . . "Christine you were dying/But no one was crying"

Maybe that's why Chris refused to do the tour - she had a mondegreen moment with RR, too.

"You want me to get up there and sing this song about how no one would cry if I DIED? I was okay with making Stevie sing back-up on that song where you called her a whore, but this is ridiculous."

And for the longest time, I thought Lindsey wasn't wearing any pants.

I don't remember being scared by any Fleetwood Mac album covers, however this terrified me:

We had LA Woman on cassette back when I was little. I remember my oldest brother showing it to me and I ran away screaming hysterically. :laugh:

When I thought it was those lyrics, I believed he was trying to describe her growing unhappiness on The Dance tour and how the others didn't want her to leave, but didn't see that being on the road was tearing her apart.

I thought 'Christine' was the lyric too, but I'm biast. :D

I never knew that Rhiannon and Dreams were the same artist until like 3-4 years ago, but sometimes I thought they were the same song.

I thought Stevie was a lesbian when I first read 'After Stevie and Lindsey broke up...' on a website somewhere.

And yes Lindsey does look like a greek god, but that's just cause he was HOT during the Mirage era :)

He was. It's a subliminal message, like the Paul is Dead stuff. :woohoo:

I'm trying very hard not to puke right now. He would have been hot if he JUST CUT THE FREAKING EYELINER! I think he looks nice now, but Tusk-Tango was aboslutely mortifying! I wonder what he thinks of all that now.
