I think you're a little behind the times.. there have been a couple threads talking about the new website.

Maybe they'll actually update the 'new website' soon.

Yeah, I know that...but it doesn't matter I think, to make a new thread, right?

Merry Christmas!

Looks like just pure (& basic) marketing.

Readers aren't so corrupt -- are they? -- as to be overjoyed by a marketing tool?

I don't think I'd use the word "corrupt," exactly, but of course they are... I'm a pretty jaded chick, but I work in 'net marketing, and sometimes even I am blown away by the stuff people will buy into. ;)

Wow. :( Have they done anything to it since 2004?

You know what would be great? If they made live recordings of each live show available on their website, like Pearl Jam & Metallica do. Would you pay $10 or even $20 for really good quality audio of the show you went to? I would. There was enough trading happening with the SYW tour that I'll bet alot of people would.

Usually, I am the postive, wide-eyed child on these threads, but I am a little upset about the .com site... This one has sooo much more to offer, currently. I love logging on here and catching up on all the latest. Seriously, THIS should be the OFFICIAL mac site. The other one just seems a little like a costly ad. It's a little sad. However: at least it is something...

It is. It just doesn't have the band's approval for said status.

This site has drawn the vast majority of Mac fans online for fifteen years.

What -- a landing page with old photo & article we already shared with one another here? Of what earthly use is I]that[/I] for anyone?

Like I said, David, "It's something." It may not be great, or useful, but it's better than an old photo saying, "New website coming soon..." If there is a fan who doesn't know how great this site is, they have that and a link to all the other sites. Some knowledge for new mac fans is better than nothing.

i think that they will update it when the tour gets closer and if they get more dates announced.

I totally would too... and would probably go broke in the process if this tour ends up being anywhere near the length of the last. The only exception would be if they perform such a scripted show where every night was the same with no change to the set - it wouldn't make much sense once you get a great sounding show. But none the less it would be nice to have the option if you saw the show.

Yeah, that's kind of how it ended up with the SYW shows - they're all pretty much the same with a few exceptions. I pretty much only listen to 1 or 2 shows from that tour.

But I think many fans, even casual fans, would pay for a copy of the show they were at.
