Soundstage Blu-ray Is Out !!!! Go Get It!!!

Dearest Friends,

I was told by my friend, Nikolaj, that I needed to post this: YOU MAY PURCHASE THE SOUNDSTAGE STEVIE NICKS BLU-RAY AT SEARS. They do have them IN STORES!!! However: THEY ARE NOT PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED!!! YOU HAVE TO GO LOOKING FOR THEM. (They are at interesting lower levels around the televisions!)

It has 16 songs from her soundstage performance, the only songs missing? DREAMS and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. You can also purchase them online and have them shipped, or scheduled for pick up. You should STILL get it before the LIVE IN CHICAGO comes out!

I bought it last night and I have to tell you, You have to hear HOW STILL MY LOVE and watch it being performed like NEVER BEFORE!!!

*Quick Side Note: WE have a 73" DLP Television with surround sound, and Blu-Ray player, THIS WAS THE BEST IN-HOME concert experience I have EVER had! Stevie was literally, "Larger than LIFE!"

Go get it! GO GO GO!

With Love,
KENN

Outside the Rain wasn't part of soundstage.

True. Sigh.
The Soundstage DVD saga continues- yes it is at Sears, Blu-Ray Disc, which i found out by surprise in another thread and suggested the writer maybe repost it so we'd all know. Very excited was i, to have the DVD in hand, i got back on the Ledge and thanked the guy then went to watch it... i FORGOT -- one needs a Blu-Ray Disc DVD player to watch a freakin Blu-RayDisc DVD!!
Augggh! It won't play in my dvd player, nor will it play on my 18 month old Mac ibook G4.
So i have this brand-spankin' new Stevie DVD, but i will be **blanked** if i am gonna purchase a new DVD player to watch it. So, i guess it will go to a friend who has a Blu-Ray DVD player-- not sealed, i opened the package, but never watched.
From the other thread, here's the pasted info about the availability of "SoundStage Stevie Nicks Live' at Sears... feeling very stupid now for not remembering Blu-Ray will only play on a Blu-Ray. F*ckers!

It will pass the time until January when, STEVIE LIVE IN CHICAGO will come out. So... in short, LIVE IN CHICAGO will be out in january. If you need a BLURAY Stevie fix... Go get it at SEARS. The songs are great and it is a much better experience than let us say, YOUTUBE!!!! GO GET IT!!!

Love,
KEN
THANK YOU, Ken!! You get my vote for 'scoop of the year' or 'most helpful Stevie Nicks fan of the year'-- it seems NOBODY knew it was in stores-- err-- store-- not even StevieNicksInfo, which is an awesome website, no-one knew- i went to Sears just before closing, and sure enough, its there- $24.99-- just popping it in now, but some quick info- at the Sears i went to, theres a display of tvs on end-caps, and 'The Chain' by Fleetwood Mac was playing on the tv- so i looked there, around the corner, on the next endcaps- nothing at eye- level- turns out the Stevie dvds are on the shelf BELOW the tv that was playing 'The Chain'- certainly not 'eye level' -- more like 'dick level' or 'knee level' (or who knows, 'dick to your knee level')-- har--
ahem- well anyway, it is, as you said, Blu-Ray, there is no booklet inside, song list is the same as the PBS dvd (without 'Dreams' or "BATB"-- but still, 16 songs, and BEFORE Christmas, as it had to be, in my heart
And thank you Ken, may i suggest you start a new thread (if you like) because this real news bulletin is kind of hidden in this thread, which i am so glad i decided to read!
Go to Sears, anyone interested-- and remember, ''Knee Level"-- under the tvs
Merry Christmas!

There is a definite difference in the packaging with the Blu-Ray edition of Soundstage. The packaging, is obviously blue, not black...here's what it looks like for those who aren't sure of the difference.

RockALittle250 12-18-2008 02:02 AM

It also looks like the Blu-Ray editions of Soundstage is a recent development and Sears was just given the exclusive rights to release the Blu-Ray DVDs, so that could also explain the March delay of Reprise's CD and DVD versions.

Here's a forum where it's explained...it's a Blu-Ray forum!

Looks like I've found a reason to hurry up and get my PlayStation 3.

I'd previously been waiting to get the PS3 specifically until God of War 3 and Resident Evil 5 came out, but a Stevie Blu-Ray is worth hurrying it up.

Anyone know if the Sears discs are a limited time thing or not?

GoldDustOrphan 12-18-2008 02:34 AM

I picked up a copy this afternoon.
The quality is really amazing.

Well! Isn't this interesting... Such a strange release path this dvd is taking... So basically it's the same DVD as the one through PBS, except this is the Blu-Ray edition... Think I'll wait to see if what they release in March will be released on Blu-Ray as well... I don't need 3 of these.

kennation 12-18-2008 12:17 PM

I just needed somehting new to get me through. I am totally not ashamed to buy two more of these. The work presented on this Blu-Ray was TOP NOTCH!!!! I have rarely seen her like this! I love it. I am so pleased. I am really excited about these cds...

ashton 12-18-2008 07:14 PM

I saw this on an HD channel and the two can't even be compared. The picture and audio are much better on the Blu-Ray version. I compared it with the version on my DVR from PBS HD and they are like night and day.

There could have been some extras but at least it was released in a great format.

If you don't have a Blu-Ray player, perhaps this is a good time to invest in one.

tothegypsy 12-18-2008 08:15 PM

Just to keep things in perspective, it is very difficult to tell the difference between DVD and Blu-ray when sitting a reasonable distance from any screen smaller than 40 inches.

I agree, don't break the bank; however, blu-ray is inevitable. My T.V. is 73" so... I can see the detail and appreciate the Blu-Ray for all it's worth. On some level, maybe a little too much detail. LOL

If you can afford it- do it,
KENN

I just got a new Samsung blu ray player two weeks ago. Seeing that ANYTHING Stevie related is coming out on this format is music to my ears! Can't wait to watch this in glorious 1080p resolution.

I'm hoping a complete Fleetwood Mac video collection eventually reaches Blu Ray!

I have a Pioneer 50" plasma and a great sound-system as well. I'm very lucky that I only have neighbors on one side of my condo. They're never home, and if they are, they play music really loud, and don't care if I do as well.

The Blu-Ray disc only cost me $14.99 because Sears was having a one-day sale. I haven't been in a Sears in about five or six years. I also picked up the Best of for $9.99.

Watching this program on PBS was fine, but there's no comparison to experiencing this sound & video quality. I was galvanized from start to finish.

I host a weekly Friday-night party in Boston at Club Cafe. We have a DJ/VJ mixing music & video (9 p.m. - 2 a.m.). It's a mix of top 40 to dance music, but there's a heavy Stevie component every night because of my obvious tastes, but the DJ, Greg, is also a huge fan. This Friday, we will be playing "selections" from the Soundstage Blu-ray early in the night. The room has 8 flat panel TVs and one giant movie-sized projection screen. Later in the evening, remix videos of SN & FM tend to show up. Greg has re-edited video to correspond with dance mixes.

I can't wait to see what the Blu-Ray looks - and sounds - like on this system, which is top-notch.

FYE is offering a $50 rebate on the PS3 if you purchase it before 12/24.

When you say this Friday, do you mean tonight in the snow storm?? If you are doing it next week, I would love to attend!! Where is the Club Cafe??

~Kim

GoldDustOrphan 12-19-2008 03:45 PM

Despite the snowstorm, we are still scheduled to be open, but I just know that we'll end up closing at 9.

Club Cafe is located at 209 Columbus Ave., Boston.

Next week, Dec. 26, I will not be getting there until the tail-end of the evening because of family holiday obligations. It's one of the rare times I'm not on-site and my assistant stands in for me.

However, Jan. 2, it's business as usual.

I do tons of giveaways every Friday as well. Every week I have movie passes to advance screenings of basically every movie coming out; CDs; DVDs, plus all the collateral that comes with them (posters, swag, t-shirts, promo items).

(If we stay open tonight, I'm giving out DVDs of Wanted, Mamma Mia, Burn After Reading, Patti Lupone's new CD, and tickets to Judy Gold's new one-woman comedy show.

There's no cover at Club Cafe, and it's mobbed by 11:15. Just so you're aware, Club Cafe is gay & lesbian restaurant/lounge/video dance bar, but it's an incredibly mixed, friendly crowd. It's been open for 25 years and it's Boston's most upscale gay venue. Everyone's welcome and there's always Stevie in the mix on Friday nights.

Is that the Pioneer Kuro? And if it is, are you pleased with it?

On the Sears' Blu-ray DVD what are the audio options?

It would also be interesting to hear about the rest of your home theatre system.

I disagree. I just got a 32" HDTV over the holidays and invested in a blue ray player and you can tell the difference right away between the dvds and the blue ray (as well as in pretty much everything else shown on that screen.

Stevie Nicks Soundstage Blu-ray

Does anyone here have an extra copy of this for sale? Or have you seen it recently for sale? I didn't expect this to go out of print so fast! It was being sold at Sears for under $20 and now is going for over $50 on Amazon and Ebay. I hate to pay that much when it was so much cheaper retail - plus the DVD is still available for cheap. I sure hope someone out there grabbed some extras when they were on clearance.

ali101 09-16-2013 01:52 PM

aaah......alas...I have a copy of this and I love it looking at it but not in Hi def since its region 1 and Im in the UK and haven't got a compatible blu ray player!!! It wont play on mine. Guess I'll keep saving up

Macfanforever 09-16-2013 06:10 PM

I got my 2 to 3 copies years ago at Sears for $9.99 each.
