"We know the songs. We've been playing them for 30 years." Yes. We know.
With regard to the "all of Fleetwood Mac's big radio hits" comment, a good chunk of those belong to CHRISTINE who is not touring with you. Oy. I love these two to pieces but sometimes they're just living in la la land. I would happily sit through some new old never been played songs. What hits are they going to play that didn't get done on the last tour?

JohnL 12-11-2008 01:49 PM

I vote for...

Gypsy, Seven Wonders, Freedom, maybe Big Love with the full band.

Gypsy was done on the SYW tour. The rest would be cool as Seven Wonders has never been done live with Lindsey.

Bless their hearts....

I, for one, will always show up to hear whatever it is they want to play. I don't seem to care WHAT they play; I just want it to be played WELL. And with passion.

However, I imagne this interview will be a nice topic of conversation for those who yearn for more. It's just "this tour only" though, so hang in there! lol

DashingDan 12-11-2008 02:45 PM

Wow, they've really convinced themselves that a greatest hits tour has never ever been undertaken by a 'classic rock' band.

They are trendsetters. There's no doubt about that.

So, I guess I understand the "unleashed" title now. They're unleashed from the hardship of trying to present new music to an unreceptive crowd.

Or maybe Mick's going to show us more than just his wooden balls this time!

It's mockery.

However, I do think that's what they mean by the title. When they say:
Quote:

And not put ourselves in the pressure of trying to redefine ourselves with new material."
I think clearly that there's where the title comes from, being released from or "unleashed" from the pressure that they supposedly felt.

I bet when the interviewers ask them what the title "unleashed" means point blank, that's what they'll say in response.

Looking at this ET thing (and I assume maybe they'll be on ET tonight, so I'm going to tape the show), I just recently got a press junket DVD with interviews Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny did earlier this year. They just sat in one room all day and did interview after interview and I just got to watch the whole thing, basically, just the 2 of them answering the questions without having to see the particular interviewer. I would love to have something like that for FM. It can be very interesting.

Well, Careful what ya wish for, i just saw an access Hollywood clip of Both lins and Stevie in the same room wearing the same thing, talking about the Buckingham nicks cover. NOTHING we haven't heard before, im sad to say. I will say that Stevie looks Beautiful with her hair curled and i love the Crescent moon necklace.

Oooh, I want to see that. I've never seen them together talking about the BN album cover together. In fact, except for remarking on the album at one of his concerts, I don't think I've ever heard Lindsey say anything about the album cover. I've just heard Stevie. Many times.

Man, I have to tape Access Hollywood tonight.

Hmm. I actually had work to do today and it hasn't gotten done.

I guess that's the official FM black uniform. They seem a bit tense, no? Anyway, I'm glad they're in good terms enough to tour together, and the phrase on a possible new album in the future is promising.

I think that's what they're doing here. Because they're both dressed really well and are both done up (esp. Stevie), so i believe that is what they did. Although they could also be doing a photo shoot as well. I mean, i think they are doing more than just ET here because they are both very well put together cosmetically, so that's what i think they were doing.

I wish we could see all of it. The outtakes and everything.

I bet as the tour rolls from town to town, the local tv stations in the venue cities will have snippets from this same day too.

Last time they toured, they did Dateline. I wonder if they can get some press like that this time around, with John and Mick too.

To be fair, at every show I went to, people went to get a beer or to the bathroom during Come almost like clockwork.

They were on ET again tonight... It was very brief. I recorded it, I'll get it up.

Yeah. I saw it. It went by fast. Stevie said they had a list of 30 songs picked out for the set. I don't think they'll do that many. Will they?

starshine 12-11-2008 08:35 PM

That was such a BS kinda interview....not like we haven't heard it 'all' from both of them before....they both 'love' to spin there little webs and make it all sound so great and perfect......I'm sure it'll be the same old set list as always....like yrs past....'they' don't want to change....heck they've been doing it since they started in this band somewhat 33 yrs ago.....if it ain't broke don't fix it right.....just like Stevie won't change anything.....yes I will beat a dead horse with this too.
What a joke really.....I'm happy I'm not gonna spend the $$ on this tour......how sad really.....totally sad .....I guess they all need the $$ badly...IMO anyway......just some thoughts.....:confused:

It was too short but it was great to see them asked about it together, even if Lindsey did look like for all the world he was trying hard NOT to picture Stevie as a stripper...;)

Macfanforever 12-11-2008 09:06 PM

He did totally look that way!! I always enjoy watching Stevie and Lindsey while the other one is speaking. It's quite amusing:lol:

It is true. It was interesting where they were talking about Buckinghamnicks cause i like someone said, it is a rarity for someone to be talking to both of them at once about it. I ADORE that snippet of "Frozen love" and the banter on lindseys soundstage. Here i go again, saying i wasnt impressed, and am now all about it. THey sure know how to string us along.

Yeah, but what about Say You Will? No bathroom rush for that. That was among the most well received, but Goodbye Baby, Say Goodbye, Peacekeeper and What's the World Coming To got a fair reception (people didn't rush for the bathroom).

True, I don't think people liked Red Rover that much, but the other new songs (not counting the ones that were cut from the set) went over ok. I don't think it was a gigantic challenge for them to incorporate them into the set.

Actually, the fan reception is probably not why we're not getting new music right now. It's just the cover story.

Wow, 30 songs? In Stevie speak though that means they have a list of 30 songs to choose from and go from there. But I could be wrong. If not, definitely enough room for SOTM. In my opinion, if Stevie can have high energy songs like FFG or Rock and Roll, I don't see any reason why SOTM could not be included in the new set.

We need Mick to talk. He might give us clues. He's the one who told us Sara was coming.

Agreed. Sisters of The Moon would be soooooo cool. I mean, if its given the same treatment that Gold dust woman is, built up to be all angsty and mystic with dramatic lighting and witchy moves and new ad libs. I could really see that being a favorite of this tour.

Oh definitely. It would be the highlight and the crowd would go nuts.
Since they are doing the familiar hits, it would be awesome if they played up the dramatic lighting and mood to make them more intense and memorable. I really hope they do this right and not take the easy way out.

In the ET interview Stevie did say 3 days of production rehearsals and to me that means full dress rehearsal with outfits and moves. They should have enough time to rehearse. They start on Jan 5 and trucks go out on Feb 22, to me that sounds like enough time to work in at least SOTM or Seven Wonders or Little Lies or something.

LOL...I just watched this again and caught a Stevie quip. The comment about LB's hair and he said, "good thing I had long hair" and she deadpanned, "it's a good thing". :D

She just cracks me up.

SandyMac 12-11-2008 11:27 PM

Stevie said the photo was touched up. Did they have the software then to do that?
I think that was just an off the cuff remark because it looks like Stevie was just taken aback that the interviewer was not letting this go and move on.

Yes, I love it when Stevie said she was happy Lindsey had long hair. Too funny.

Makes me wonder if there are pictures floating out there where his hair is not strategically placed and you can see more. Michele

Oh, you know, I didn't think about it like that. Stevie could have meant, that there are some out there that looked "worse" in her eyes and the one that made the cover was the one where Lindsey's hair is placed just right. hmmm, makes you wonder.

Sometimes I do wonder if Stevie protests publicly about that cover because of family, etc...

All I could think about while watching this... is oh boy... here we go again with the drama and fearing a big argument down the line in 5 months to squash the summer plans and possible CD. (must not think negative... only positive thoughts).
