VIP tickets, first row, ect.
 

iloveallaccess.com is providing those VIP packages and I was wondering whether there was any other way to get good tickets. Is iloveaccess the exclusive provider of the tickets for the first 20 rows or is there any other way to get those? I'd much rather pay 759 bucks knowing I will be seated somewhere in the first or first few rows than paying the same amount of money for being seated somewhere in the first ten rows and getting a lot of extra stuff I don't really want. Any ideas? :confused:

In 2004 I bought 2 vip packages for a SYW show. The tickets were $500 each I believe back then. We were seated 2nd row center, so not bad. If you went through a scalper or ticket broker you would end up paying the same probably. While we were sitting waiting for the show to start we met not one, but two people in the front row who had purchased their tickets at the venue right before the show. For me that was kind of frustrating to spend so much and someone who walked into the venue right before the show got front row.

I think a lot of it also has to do with how many seats you need. I think that right before the show there are a lot of single seats left over. I know many people here seem to get lucky by waiting to get their tickets, but it's always a gamble.

Well, I would only need a single seat, but trying to get one right before the how would be little too risky for my liking, seeing as I would be travelling from across the pond. Thanks for the input though!

I went to two Stevie/Don Henley shows that had the All Access thing going. For one, I got front row, for the other, second row. I did NOT do the All Access thing, but got them, regular price, through ticketmaster.

The thing about All Access is, you don't know exactly where you're sitting until the day of the show (I believe--maybe I'm wrong and it's a few days before the show). All they guarantee, if I'm not mistaken is somewhere in the first 10 rows. And, the seats are in the center section. So, they might give you 8th row, center, rather than front row, side, because they deem it to be a better seat.

I'm too much of a control freak for that (well, that and I don't have the money for such a thing;-) but, I'm pretty sure that's the way it works.

Frankly, I would rather deal with a broker because you know exactly what you're getting. But, I'd wait a little anyway. The only broker who seems to have things now is Stub Hub, and their prices are ridiculous ($2000 for 5th row or something? Get a grip!)

When you order them from ticketmaster, can you choose the exact row and seat or just sections? From All Access I got the impression that the only way to get a seat in the first ten rows is when you buy one of those packages. But then I don't think they could fill the entire ground floor with those anyway as most people probably can't afford any of the packages.

Well, all the venues have seating charts that appear when you are searching for tickets on ticketmaster (and, sometimes, an online search for a venue's seating chart will get you a far more detailed chart, where you can see exactly how they number each row, etc). It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with them before the sale (if you're trying during a pre-sale or something) to get to know where you'd like to sit.

And then they give you various choices. For example, in an arena, you would choose "floor" seats so they only offer you the floor during your search. Sometimes, they let you choose floor center, or floor right side of the stage, floor left...but you can't say I want front row, 2nd seat over. They offer you what comes up on the computer. IF you like that seat, you can buy it (you have 3 minutes, I think, to make up your mind). If you don't, you can try again. I have literally tried dozens of times for some shows, every single day, sometimes for months, before deciding that I want to buy a particular ticket. It's a pain in the neck, but you can, sometimes, get exactly what you like. And, then, I have to admit, there were some shows where really good seats never seemed to appear.

No, when the tickets first go on sale from Ticketmaster you can not choose,
it's first come / first served / best available.
Right now there is a huge deal being made about the VIP Packages.
Dont worry, there will still be good seats available for most of the shows
However, as with every concert there are always last minute tickets made available for reasonably good seats.
Your best bet, as you are coming from "over the pond", is to buy a regular ticket from Ticketmaster,
then when you get to the "here", check at the box office for the late release tickets....usually works, especially for singles....

Thanks everyone. I had completely forgotten about the box offices. Looks like I'm going to get a ticket online then and try my luck getting a better seat at day of the concert. ... I actually planned on getting a VIP package, but seeing as I have to pay for the flight and hotel too, this seems like a better solution.

I have another question regarding the ticket brokers. At which point do they start to sell single tickets? A few weeks or months before the concert is taking place? :shrug:

Usually never. Always in pairs. But you can buy a pair and sell your extra one at the show.

It takes a few weeks for the brokers to start selling single tickets. For some reason, after a few weeks, they will be stuck with an odd number of tickets,
5, 3 or 1 and that's when you can get a single one. It doesn't happen with every show though.

I know your post was well-intentioned but it really bothers me that this is now the accepted thing. Just pay an unfair and extortionate price (and none of that extra money the ticket sells for even goes to the said artist).

I've never resorted to buying from a tout (broker or whatever you want to call them) and I've been going to concerts for almost 20 years and went to more than 50 concerts this year alone. Some of those concerts this year were high profile sell-outs too and I either got my tickets on the day they went on sale or waited it out and snapped them up nearer the date (this happens all the time, Ticketmaster release seats even to sold out shows). I had front row for Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson, second row and third row for Neil Young and tickets right by the stage for Dolly Parton, Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen (that concert sold out in minutes too) among others. The last time Fleetwood Mac toured here I never even joined the fanclub and I got first row and second row through Ticketmaster for two of their dates.

Maybe I'm not cynical enough to think it's okay to pay so much for a concert ticket particularly in these hard times. It just bothers me that so much of that money is going to a third party whose only skill was getting to a ticket before me.

I definitely appreciate artists like Tom Waits, Pearl Jam, Tom Petty and, recently The Who, who try to stop touts buying up the tickets and give their fans the chance to see them without paying ridiculous amounts of money. If I were an artist I'd hate to think that only the well off could see me in concert.

Stay away from the Brokers.

once again, do not panic,

decide which show(s) you are going to,

get a ticket(s) from Ticketmaster on Monday the 15th of December,

book your flight, car, & hotel.

Then when you get "here", check with the box office for late release tickets,

dont even think about a VIP package at this time....,

they probabily will not sell out the first 10 rows of each venue,

at those prices..(10 x 40 x $750 = $300,000, wow)....if they do, "oh well",

I have a feeling that there will be a European leg to this tour, maybe more,

maybe the Burj Dubia, which is opening soon, is available,

I did the all access 5 star package for the Stevie Nicks and Don Henley show at mohegan sun in 2005 a few days before they contacting me saying that the 5 star package was cancelled so i to a 4 star package and keep my assigned seat or to the next venue was mansfield show for the 5 star package I asked them does the pre show party also include a meet and greet and they told me no if a meet and greet were to happen it would state it in the package deal so i said i will do the 4 star package and keep my seat they gave me a engraved pen set with Stevie's and Don's name on them and my ticket was in the front row right in front of stevie's microphone it was awesome and also they credited me $200 so it cost me $195 yes the top package for that show was $395 and also at the mohegan sun shows you also have to deal with the high roller comp tickets they get front row sections as well and its usually the day of the show as well for the high rollers that want those free tickets other wise it then goes into the system to be sold so i should have some money saved up by feb. or so to get the $195 ticket and take whats available I am waiting a bit on this one cause too i dont have that extra money for that right now i am bummed about the timing of the ticket sales and will be more excited about the show as it gets closer to date.

ILAA used to have the best seats in town but not so anymore. I actually got a partial refund on a 5 star ticket for the Eagles show in Indio last May because I got an obstructed view seat. Long story short it should never have happened :shrug:as I was the first person, by, their own admission, to buy a 5 star ticket.

Def Leppard 5 star tickets here in California for the two shows that I went to also sucked last spring and they got a ton of complaints over those two shows. I actually got better tickets for face value during ticket drops. But the DefLep tickets were a whole lot less and so they were easier to eat. The party was a joke; popcorn and beer. The swag sucked and we had to pay for our own parking and waited two weeks to be reimbursed.

I subsequently went to 4 more Eagle's concerts this past summer back East and I waited for ticket drops rather than do anymore ILAA. The worst seat that I got was third row center at the Borgata. ILAA wanted $1,500 for the seat and I paid $500. I also got front row for two of the other shows and 2nd row for the fourth show and all for face value.

Remember last tour FM dropped 2nd/3rd row tickets the day of or the day before for most shows.

I don't blame you. When you are traveling before the concert, you kind of want your seat before you make the flight and hotel plans, not afterwards and sometimes it's worth it to travel for a good seat, but not for a bad one. So, going to ticketmaster first, for a mediocre seat doesn't seem like a practical option.

This makes me so mad. I don't mind paying, but I do mind the "first 10 rows" thing.

Now, one option I tried for some Stevie shows was a ticketmaster auction. You bid on the seats and you knew what row you would be in. The seats were expensive, but not as expensive as ILAA and you also knew exactly where you would be. I wish they were doing those again.

What I don't like about ticketmaster is that you don't know where your seat will be at all, even if you're paying $149. Just in case I don't get anything at the box office or on the internet the day before - which I highly doubt after reading all your responses, but still - I still want to make sure that I got a kind of good seat and not something where I'm so far away from the stage that the people on stage look like stick figures. ... Hell, I paid 35€ for a ticket to see Bonnie Raitt a couple of years ago and I was two feet away from her, front row and center. :distress:

But then any ticket is better than nothing and if they decide to do a few concerts in Europe too, I could always try and get a better seat here.

Maybe I'm putting too much thought into this, but my heart is really set on this.

Ticketmaster tells you the location of the seat, &, you can check it out on the seat map, before you accept....g:angel:

You absolutely know where you are sitting before you buy.
You can't request seats online. But, you can hit the selection for Floor seats, for example, and how many you want and then they will offer you, (again, for example) Section 2, row 25, seat 5. You can then look it up and have three minutes to decide if you want that. If not, you hit the button to give that ticket up and search again. You are absolutely not buying something "blind."

Give it a try (just to see what the process is like). Just don't hit the buy button (and, even if you did, if you have no credit card info on there, it's not a crime).

i would like to go but i am not paying for front row. it doesn't really matter where i sit as long as i get to go and the tickets aren't too expensive.

I have just checked out the all access site again and they have added some shows with a meet and greet with Mick Fleetwood and also added higher price for the meet and greet as well for some shows not all for now.:shocked::wavey:

That's nerve when you're already asking for $800-1000 to add a higher price, just to meet Mick.

I could meet Mick any time for free at one of his wine-tasting things at Costco. I could see him and buy a year's worth of potato chips at the same time.

Exactly--I've met Mick several times (not at Costco). I didn't mind paying $1000.00 to see Stevie Nicks & Friends. $850 was tax deductible, it went to the Arizona Heart Institute and they put on a heck of a party and the show had variety. The $950 (more with tax and shipping) for the "Access" tickets is obscene, and, harping on it, there isn't anything "new" to justify that cost. I could maybe understand the freak prices if there was something special about this new outting. At least hold off on these monster charges until there is something to "unleash." Again, the seats are a mystery, the set list is major a mystery, and while I trust Lindsey to try to shake it up, he's only 1/2 of the singer/songwriters performing on the stage. (Mick's vest thing doesn't really count) What will Stevie do to contribute her 50% of the show? What will she "unleash" or will it be "all the same, baby, all the same?"

I read that Stevie will not be wearing panties on this tour. In response, Lindsey will keep his fly unzipped.

Last time I saw Lindsey, they had the presale. I didn't buy my ticket until the day before the show, and I was still able to get 6th row center.

I haven't dealt with ticketmaster.com before, so I didn't know how the process worked. Works like a charm.

I sounds like this tour is going to be a disaster I hope not I am going to wait a bit longer to buy a ticket until i get extra cash can't do it on monday. I am probably going to wait as it get torwards the show i just hope it doesn't sell out very quickly and by the sounds of everyone on here either they are waiting almost the last minute to get tickets or getting the cheaper tickets or not going at all. Stevie definetly has to bring out Sisters of The Moon for this tour since its there last unless they came out again with christine also with a new cd but i dont see that happening. I just hope the tour doesn't get cancelled for poor sales due to the economy. I do plan to go to mohegan show if i can get the $125 ticket i hope other wise will get whats available when i have the extra money.:]

so did you get the 5 star package? mohegan sun show is $995 with out mick meet and greet and with the meet and greet with mick fleetwood its $1120. i will hang from the ceiling at $125 actually at mohegan sun its really not a bad seat in the house i just hope to get a ticket for final show not sure if they will do a second leg in the states?:blob2:

If i had the extra money and it was going to be a meet and greet with the band and also dinner and drinks with the band maybe i would do it if i had the extra money. this time around i am waiting like i did 5 years ago with a few of there shows as it closer i got awesome seats i hope to be lucky this time around again if not will take what comes in front of me at the time of having extra cash it will be a few weeks any way for me.

did you get a ticket for the show? ya i find ticketmaster to not bad just have to be patient and have a little luck and positive minded about getting pretty good seats you never know what tickets will come up. Mohegan Sun Show for Stevie back in this past April day of tickets on sale got 4th row center section isle seat which was awesome also they hold alot of good seats for the high rollers too they hold them thru the night of the concert is when the high rollers can get the free tickets and those tickets are in the first few rows of each section i believe sometimes too if your lucky you hit it right if a few high rollers dont take the tickets the night of the concert tickets get thrown into the ticketmaster to be sold sometimes its best to wait or it pays to wait. went up to the stage for the edge walk didnt get to shake hands with stevie this time i have in the past twice at two different shows it is awesome to be up front so i had my time up there so i am happy to get a ticket sitting anywhere as long as I get to go for this last tour of theres.:blob2::]
