Obama's 30 Minute Ad-Who Watched It
I did.
Simply put: It was phenomenal! |
Haven't seen it, if I did I would change the chanel. I don't want to waste 30 minutes of my life listening to him.

I didn't see it. I watched the first debate, and didn't get 20 minutes into the VP debate because Biden and Palin both ticked me off; I was pretty well sick of it and ready for the campaign to be over by the 2nd Presidential debate. I really didn't see much point in watching this. I've already voted, and while I like Obama and think he'll probably make a decent POTUS, I'm not in love with the man the way his hard-core supporters are.

Didn't see a point - I've already decided who I'm voting for.

Note - Obama has certainly stretched the truth as well. However, on the larger issues, he has been far more forthcoming with what he would do than McCain has been. In other words, Obama has on the whole indicated his plan. McCain seems only to attack Obama's plan and then Obama on a personal level with lies. As for the commercial - it was very slick and very moving, much like Obama himself. The pundits are mostly saying Obama cannot pay for the thigs he set forth. But, they say that about McCain and the skeleton of his alleged plans as well. So, it's kind of a wash to me. In the end, I cannot take four more years of W. And, I cannot take four more years of the religious far right trying to cram their version of Christianity down my Christian throat. So, while Obama is not my ideal, I think he is the better choice for the counry. Plus, Obama just inspires hope in millions and across party lines. I mean McCain is having to defend formerly solid red states. McCain cannot seem to do that level of inspiration. Palin inspires, but it is just the far religious right and she is not really fond of the truth. |
Two words: Change and Hope.
We need a Change from the 8 years we have endured under the Bush administration (McCain is more of the same) and we have to have Hope that there will be a better tomorrow. Also, we need representatives in Congress who truly represent the people --they are our representatives, though many seem to have forgotten that is why they were elected. Obama is a bright light and McCain a dull beam. |
The commercial was shown before he came on stage for his nomination speech at the DNC. I liked it then, I like it now. Tuesday should be interesting.

It was a completely new package. Did you even watch it beyond the first ten seconds? |
I have no attatchment to the man who rose up from the corrupt Chicago political system. I am more interested in all the congressional races and the propositions on gay marriage. Did you guys see Elizabeth Dole's ad against her challenger?
Yikes. Now watch Elizabeth Dole get bitchslapped! |

I agree - Dole was a desp. a$$$ clinging to fake fear when she posted this ad. I thought she had way more honor than that. As for Hagan, she came back strong. However, to me, she seems to be pandering to the far religious right when she says her faith guides her decisions. Well, in politics, the rule of law guides your decisions, not necessarily your faith. For example, you can believe in a strict interpretation of The Bible all you want in your personal life, but you cannot apply Leviticus 24:16 and call for the congregation to stone to death one who blasphemes the name of the LORD  Having said that, using your faith to help people and/or society through the rule of law is a great thing (no murders allowed is a great example). It is when you use it to take a choice away from people in a free society or use it as the sole reason to deny and/or give people rights in that free society that the problems arise. The far religious right just cannot stand it if the govt. does not officially recognize Christianity as the official religion of the US, an act expressly prohibited in the US Constitution. They somehow cannot validate their religion on their own. The govt. must do it fot them and anyone who disagrees just does not know what they are missing. The far religious right wants to stifle that free society we hold so dear. |

I need to find Dole's email address so I can ask her if there's something wrong with the money in my bank account because I'm atheist. I always thought money spent the same regardless of its holder's religious beliefs, but I guess I was wrong. Like, once the bank realizes it belongs to an atheist, does it immediately morph into pink Monopoly dollars that can only be spent in Hell? Inquiring minds want to know. |
What fun she was, the crazy bat! It will be sad to lose her.
