What Kind of Car Do You Drive?

Alright, what does everyone drive? If you've got pics, that's even better.

I have a 2006 Saab 92-X, however, it is not on campus...therefore I miss it.:distress: Love that car!! Here are some pictures of one that's for sale that looks A LOT like mine. It's got AWD and everything. I love it!

I used it today. I rented a Mini Convertible for three hours for like $40 total, which includes the gas and insurance. I can assure you I drove at least a half of a tank's worth. So, it payed for utself I guess. And, there are like 15 of them within a ten block radius of my house. So, there always is one around. Let me just say having no car payment, no insurance payment, no gas payment, and no escrow for repairs account (all totaled about $1,000 + a month) has been wonderful! And, I spend, on average, about $30 a month total on the zip cars. I live in the city, across from a subway stop, I work next to a suway stop, and everything I need and do is almost all within walking distance of my house. I am so green now

Chrislit18 10-19-2008 09:49 PM

I need a car. I like a Mazda SUV that the dealer down the street has. It's awesome.

I still have another 3 months though.
My mom drives this hedeous Ford Explorer 1996. Its so fug.

I refuse to get a car car though. They're really not safe...

2001 Chevy Cavalier that I finally paid off in January. I'm never getting a car financed again. That zipcar thing sounds like a great idea - shame it's not available in Austin.

I found out that they actually do have something similar to zipcar in Austin, but you have to live near UT or downtown - and if I lived there, the money I saved by using it would be eaten up by higher rent/housing costs about four or five times, so I wouldn't really be coming out ahead. :distress:

My 78 year old grandpa has a Passat, and he swears by those things. They are very nice cars. I love them.

In NYC I had no car, so when I got back to AL I was ready for one.
I drive a 2006 Acura TL and a 2007 Toyota Sequoia depending on the task. When you got kids, I don't see how you can get all their gear in for a trip without a monster SUV.

At the moment I am 'borrowing' a '93 Chevy Pickup...

So once the life insurance/funeral insurance is resolved I will be looking for a newer vehicle to replace my 'previous' car. Kept my car insurance coverage (Which also includes home coverage) so I don't have a lapse in the coverage until I find a new vehicle.

Saw a few 2005-2008 Grand Prix's online, but I would feel somewhat 'ghoulish' driving one now nor do I want some dumbass "Alternate fuel" clunker (Gasoline in Oklahoma is less than $2 a gallon) nor some compact ( I prefer a large 'driver's cockpit' such as what my 2002 Grand Prix had, so obvious for safety reasons. All the proof is in that had Debbie not had the medical issue pre-accident that claimed her life, she would had walked away from the wreck with very minor injuries even after the car was launched 115' in the air and was annihilated upon impact.)

May try to locate a 2002-2007 Monte Carlo, Loved the 'boxed' style body...but I would LOVE to locate a Dale Earnhardt Limited Edition Monte Carlo, my fave color BLACK.

StandbackStevie 11-01-2008 10:49 AM

My old one was almost 16 years old and had over 150,000 miles so it was time for something newer. But I should have waited a bit to buy mine---they're offering great deals right now because the auto-industry (well at least GM) is in trouble and the economy sucks. I'll probably drive this one til the wheels fall off.

I do not blame you. I fell into that leasing trap, where I would get a new car every three or so years. I mean it is a car for goodness sake. Moreover, if you think about it and have the money, at least $600 a month (pmt., insurance, gas, prorated maint., etc. ) is a mini vacation every month or a huge vacation every six months. I'd rather have the vacation over a new car every three years if I was going to spend the money anyway.

estranged4life 12-18-2008 08:55 PM

A 2006 Chevy Trailblazer LT (Charcoal) which replaces the POS 1993 Chevy Pickup I was borrowing from Debbie's brothers...

She'd loved the Trailblazer...

Oh, after I paid for the TB I drove to my insurance agent - and as I figured out how to work the stereo system NATURALLY Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" came on the air...how ironic!!!
