Chicago Show and Photos

Great show as usual, and since I can't sleep I'm the first one to report back! I was really happy to hear Treason as it's tied with Bel Air Rain as my favorite from the new album. I think Lindsey quite enjoyed all his birthday attention which included a serenade by the audience and Kristen getting to make a stage appearance. It was nice meeting a lot of Ledgies, but boy was that a long wait. Here are my pictures, not too shabby without the flash. Enjoy!

Way To Go Erin! Fantastic shots!!...

Regina 10-03-2008 07:42 AM

Very nice pictures. Thank you for sharing.
Kristen on-stage? She wasn't (gulp!) singing, was she?

zzagar 10-03-2008 08:28 AM

Is it just me or in some of the shots, his hair is looking shorter than its been awhile??? I almost thought I saw the Tusk-era haircut for a second on the "red" photos.

Also, any change in the setlist? I Know Chicago is one of his favorites to play...

Yay for Indy on Sunday.

It was so cool seeing you again last night! :wavey:

Hey Erin. Your pictures came out great. You were using a Nikon right? Those pictures are 10x better than my Sony would take. Since we were standing right next to each other, its nice to see the pictures from the same view.

It was great meeting you. Gretchen, were you standing directly behind Erin by chance?

And Regina, no, Kristin was not singing. She came to give Lindsey a hug and kiss after he introduced her to the audience.

The show was great but I was standing in one spot for almost 4 hours and damn did my legs hurt after wards!

Hi!!! Did that drunk guy mow you over trying to get to Linds?? haha

badanimals87 10-03-2008 10:50 AM

Erin your photos came out great! I was off to the right side of the stage and the camera nazi was on me the whole time so most of my pictures are blurry from not using the flash and trying to be sneaky while taking them. Some of them came out pretty nice so if anyone wants to take a look.

Thanks for the pics, glad everyone had a good time!!

Thanks for the compliments everybody! I'm curious to see Alicia's pics, since her Stevie ones are always awesome. I did use a Nikon L3, which is not a great camera by any stretch of the imagination. The key is to use the sports setting, which is available on most digital cameras. Sports setting doesn't use a flash and ups the ISO, however it only works well if you're up close. My Stevie pics from June were taken with the same setting, but because I was farther away they didn't turn out nearly as well.

The drunk guy was the highlight of the show, was it not? "Lindsey, I want to shake your hand." I swear this guy has done this before. But hey, Wild Heart you got a high five thanks to drunk guy!

Gretchen, it's always fun to see you and Tom.:D

Hi Tim! It was good to see you again last night! It was too bad that they were so tough on photos, most of mine are blurry. We continued to wait around for Lindsey and he finally came out with Kristen and entered a SUV. The security guard continued to be a jerk and would not let us anywhere near the area, so we missed an autograph opportunity. However, Lindsey did see us and gave us a wave from the car...so that was cool! ;)

Here's a little bit of "Time Precious Time" from last night:

Wow, those are great! They may be few, but they are certainly keepers.

MacMan 10-03-2008 09:48 PM

Very nice Alicia! You've got a steady hand!

michelej1 10-03-2008 10:33 PM

Erin,

Some of your pictures are just seconds apart. You must have been shooting away like crazy. They came out great. Thanks for the tip about the sports setting. I will try it out. I have a Sony Cybershot.

Anita,

I really love the 5th one down. Such clarity. The different shots of Lindsey with his guitar in different positions, really capture the energy and movement of the concert. Michele

Lee 10-04-2008 07:26 PM

Thanks to the people posting the pics & the videos. I'm looking @ them now listening to GOS & it's like being there because I'm probably not going to get to see him. This will be as close as I can get. I love the pictures of him hugging his guitar. I don't know why but they are my favorites. :D

Lee :)

Yeah, the sports setting takes a series of pictures when you continually press on the shutter button. I actually have close to 300 pictures, but I thought that would be overkill! I took some video, but I'm pretty lazy about putting that up on You Tube. For some reason it was skipping.

sodascouts 10-11-2008 01:23 PM

I know this is late, but I wanted to say thanks for the photos and video clip! It helps me relive a fun night. ;)

And yes, that was me that got FLATTENED against the stage by drunk guy in his efforts to get Lindsey to give him a "high five." At one point, I actually elbowed him in the chest and yelled "DUDE, GET OFF OF ME!" and he didn't budge one inch!

Well, he got his high five.

All in all, a great show, although my fave was Indy. I got an "I'm So Afraid" solo played right above me, and we got to hear Bleed to Love Her!
