The Covers of Both are slightly different from the PBS Version.
Same Picture (Stevie taking a bow), different background.

I'll post more information when I have the time.

nailatixela 09-25-2008 02:17 PM

Sad to see that BATB is not on the DVD...at least we get the CD but I'd love to SEE it. If we can see it, we can hear it.

Landslide (Orchestra Version) - is that what was on the PBS dvd?

What's with only putting 10 songs on the CD... Could have fit more.

I looked on amazon and couldn't find this info - where'd you find it?

Thanks!

Again, Gold Dust Woman misses a CD. It wasn;t played on the Tusk tour for the live album, it was a freaking highlight of The Dance, LIB and Soundstage and didnt make the CD of any of them. That one ommision seriously pisses me off. I want Gold Dust Woman live to be on an audio CD.

Well there is the one on the Sheryl Crow and Friends cd.

The dance version is on most of the dance single CDs ala silver springs. its easy to find.

I whish we could SEE Beauty and the Beast also. i bet its an issue with the rights to the film clips. but soo glad it made it on the CD. at least the CD is stuff that hasnt really been around alot. ie, crash, if annyone falls, howstill my love, Beauty and the beast. ect. and i am actually wanting to SEE dreams in the soundstage preformance as well, cause i am still impressed with this when i watch. which is still frequently!! Anny "new" stuff makes me excited. :blob2:

Right, I forgot that one. I do own that Cd too. OK so at least I can die knowing GDW live is officially on CD, but thats far from my favorite version. Phoenix could you direct me where I might get that Dance version.

rocknalittle 09-25-2008 04:32 PM

What?

Where is Beauty and the Beast? If it is not on the new DVD I am going to be so upset!!! That is one of the most breathtaking performances I have ever seen! Why would that not be included?:distress: If it is something to do with the film rights, I wish there was a way they could work around that, like close ups on Stevie, moving around the screen, ext...

starshine 09-25-2008 04:39 PM

Personally, they really should've released the whole concert on cd and the whole concert on dvd....there's room for it...no excuses to me....I don't care what the reason....its a crying shame really.....esp when the cds/dvds can fit it all.....IMO anyway......:confused:

RockALittle250 09-25-2008 05:01 PM

Thanks so much for posting, but where did you find all of this great info?

Enchanted_Stevi 09-25-2008 05:07 PM

Thats pretty awesome that their adding the "bonus" tracks to the DVD!!! I'm glad I waited to buy my DVD HAHA Gonna buy it when it comes to the stores :D

MacMan 09-25-2008 05:31 PM

That's a pretty rich price for a 10 track cd!

If this is in fact legitimate, since no source for the information is provided... I think it's great that Dreams and makes the DVD....

The orchestral version of Landslide should be good... They shot that AFTER the audience left the studio...

As for Beauty & The Beast - I thought they also filmed two versions of that song, one with the screening of the movie in the back, and one without... I'll have to look for the setlist,I have it somewhere...

SandyMac 09-25-2008 05:41 PM

Yay!!! Thank you for the heads up on this. I am glad the cover art got released although it is the same pose with different background colors. I agree though, not having B&TB on the DVD is a shame, but glad it is on the CD. Likewise for GDW, it is on the DVD, but not on the CD. (sigh). Why do they do these things?

Well, I have the ripped audio from the PBS DVD, so I burned that to CD, so at least we have that. I am glad Dreams got on the DVD.

So, let me get this straight, the only difference between this DVD release and the PBS DVD release is the inclusion of Dreams and the bonus Landslide Orchestra version? Seems kind of lame to me. I know... I shouldn't complain, but kind of hoped for more than that. Having B&TB on this DVD would have been so fantastic. I guess I will just have to listen to the CD to get those goosebumps I get every time I hear Stevie sing that song.

Well, I am glad this is finally coming out anyway and will order it because... well because it is Stevie. 'nuf said.

Edit: guess I am going to have to change my banner once I get this in my hot little hands, but not until then. (Don't want to get yanked around again).

Hmm, okay, they shot Landslide after the audience left for the orchestra version? Could be very, very interesting to see how that turned out. I might have to get a box of tissues to wipe my tears. I am sure it will be emotional.

RockALittle250 09-25-2008 05:56 PM

SandyMac, it looks like Warner/Reprise has finally met our demands!

RockALittle250 09-25-2008 06:13 PM

I just have to say again how pleased i am with both the CD and DVD covers, and how much i love the name "The Soundstage Sessions" for the CD...it's like "The Dance" all over again for me!

Looks like the "Stevie Stare" worked its magic on those music execs.
LOL, can you really imagine a record exec on the receiving end of that stare?
It would be like..."yes Stevie, anything you say Stevie"

Stevie should use her stare on her own camp to get them in line.

You're welcome. Where'd I find it....I'd better not say

I have the PBS version but I'm still excited about getting this.
I also wish the DVD included Beauty And The Beast, in fact it was
the song I looked most forward to. Sometimes I think they leave
off certain songs to include them on other versions, like with this
CD & DVD release. They know us fans will have to buy both.

The other information I didn't have time to write earlier today was
pretty much just the same old biography & discography info. If it's
needed, I'd be glad to post it.

BTW, the price on both was just the suggested retail price. I'm sure
it will be easy to find it at a better price.

BellaDonna93 09-26-2008 12:28 PM

Well, I'm just sooooo glad!!!! I couldn't have wait to December 31 for its realise, so it's just awesome!!! Now, it's just one month left to the realise date! "I can't wait, I can't wait"

Hey Sandy..

Amen girlfriend... I think Stevie needs to use her stare a LOT more often.. LOLOLOLOL.. Maybe even moreso on Karen..:p

Josh2003 09-26-2008 04:48 PM

Well I am quite pleased with the CD track list. I was expecting another CD full of the boring staples: Dreams, Rhiannon, GDW, Stand Back, Landslide, etc.

Very glad to see they are giving us songs we don't typically have on CD.

Travis 09-26-2008 05:15 PM

Was "Beauty and the Beast" aired on the PBS special? I got my PBS DVD today and no BATB is listed, which I knew but am curious if it was a part of the special.

Thats the first thing I thought hen i saw the CD listing as well Cause I was afraid it b the same ole songs too, and i love those songs, but..... Beauty and the Beast is sooo great! and it and If annyone falls are not usually "around" and niether are Sara (wich was beautiful with cool ending lyrics. all i ever wanted...theres a heartbeat, the wind became crazy ect...which are my favorite parts) and How still my love was done well musically and vocally. Plus Crash into me and Circle Dance.

BTAB is what I was looking forward to having on DVD the most, too, but I'll settle for just CD, I guess.

Her Red Rocks performance of BTAB is my all-time favorite version, but the way she does it now is also so beautiful to me - bawled like a damn baby when I saw her do it live in Reading, even if I had to contend with some greasy Charlie Manson lookalike blaring "I can't believe she's 60! I'd still hit it!" every 5 seconds in my ear. Le sigh.

estranged4life 09-26-2008 09:08 PM

I'll be purchasing the CD, but pass on the DVD.

Richard B 09-27-2008 09:24 AM

Amazon.com pulled the DVD out of my cart, citing 'No longer available'

Weird. Maybe there changing the title or something.

SandyMac 09-27-2008 10:57 AM

Yeah, I just checked the page with the DVD on it and now it says no longer available for the DVD. It appears the CD is still available though. WTF?

hs421139 09-27-2008 11:31 AM

:shrug:What I find interesting is that the DVD is being called Live In Chicago and the
CD is being called The Soundstage Sessions, and also that it is not being sold as a package(packaged DVD/CD)

Live In Chicago DVD
Currently unavailable.
We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.
(how can something be back in stock if it was really never available to begin with?) ;)

"live in Chicago" sounds stupid. "The soundstage sessions" sounds soo much cooler. Im very excited about the CD. Hopefully they dont pull IT TOO!

RockALittle250 09-28-2008 02:19 AM

Update

Amazon.com has just uploaded the official tracklisting for the CD.

Track Listings
1. Stand Back
2. Crash(Dave Matthews Band cover)
3. Sara
4. If Anyone Falls in Love
5. Landslide (orchestra version)
6. How Still My Love
7. Circle Dance
8. Fall From Grace
9. Sorcerer
10. Beauty and the Beast

The only song that i don't think should be on there is Stand Back, because we've heard it live so many times (LIB, the CV iTunes bonus track) but other than that, i am very pleased with the other songs on here, because as far as a CD release of live material goes, the other songs are Stevie "rarities".

SandyMac 09-29-2008 05:15 PM

Great news everybody! The CD and DVD are being sold at the Warner Brothers Records site. http://store.warnerbrosrecordsstore.com/
(search on Nicks) and it is there! :]:blob2::blob1:

(I am still leaving my angry Stevie banner up until I get my order though).
because ya never know .. it could get yanked tomorrow or a week from now. :distress:

(I have to give credit to a fan over at 7W for the heads up on this), I like to give credit where credit is due.

Okay, now I'm really confused... So are both of them available to ship NOW from Warners? Or by buying now from Warners, are you basically doing a pre-sale for the release at the end of October?

I dunno, it doesn't say - I just ordered mine, too, but the receipt doesn't mention the ship date, and the product details don't mention it, either - so I guess we'll see.

But at least it looks like it's actually going to be released now! :blob1:
