Tiny Stevie mention on Fashion Police (Grammys)

They were talking about that chick Amy from Evanescence (sp?) - Kathy Griffin liked her outfit and said, "It's very Stevie Nicks-ish," that bald dude laughed and agreed.

dissention 02-15-2005 12:13 PM

Remember a couple of years ago when Sharon Stone showed up wearing that black fringe get-up to the Golden Globes? Joan said "She looks like a cross between Stevie Nicks and a cheap dominatrix."

Ew...Amy Lee looked trash.

Livia 02-15-2005 04:17 PM

That's what Mary Hart said on ET last nite- they picked Amy as one of the worst dressed - and showed a clip of her on the GREEN carpet (sponsored by Heineken) - Amy said she bought the dress at a place called Trash - then they cut back to Mary in the studio saying, "She should have left it there." I thought she looked good - especially w/ her toned down makeup.

Not only was her get-up hideous, but Stone was pretty off that night. She had to be on something.

Gypsy-Rhiannon 02-16-2005 09:18 AM

I think Amy Lee is great. Didn't see the outfit though but I usually like her unusual taste in clothes...

I agree. She looked nice. And she's so bold to wear something like that.

David 02-19-2005 02:17 PM

Were the Grammys on already?

Did Fleetwood Mac win anything?

LilyRose 02-19-2005 04:23 PM

The Grammys were on last week and Fleetwood Mac didn't have any music to be nominated for...so no, they didn't win anything.

If you've read any of Joe Eszterhas's books, she likes what we used to call Thai stick.

Speaking of the Grammy's, Did anyone see Melissa Ethridge? She did a tribute to Janis Joplin thing, which wasn't too bad. She is completely bald. I was just wondering if she is ill, or did she somehow think this was a good idea?
Anybody know?

LilyRose 02-19-2005 10:19 PM

Melissa Etheridge had breast cancer. She went through all of her treatment and is now cancer free.

I think it was an increadibly inspiring thing for her to do. Many women would opt for a wig, but she just put it all out there and chose to not let it break her down. And she did rock! She killed that song! I loved it.

Stevie Nicks Mention...

So I'm reading R&R on craigslist for LA, and today some people are posting their "weirdest celebrity encounters." Came across this one just now:

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/rnr/843336947.html

"1978... hanging out between the Rainbow and the Roxy. BSing with Wolfman Jack by the side door of the Roxy... there's like 50 people out there. Door opens, multiple people trying to exit, some of us outside get trampled. As I get up off of the ground, I see who it was that fell directly on me..... Stevie Nicks in a tube-top. Goddamn! I'll never forget that. She was probably very high... I know I was! (Yes... it actually happened. No, I didn't get to talk to her)."

Sanne2 09-16-2008 04:03 PM

Haha, great story!

Stevie mention on "The View" this morning

In a Grammy review segment on ABC's show "The View", Mario Cantone made fun of Stevie's dress, he said something like "The Renaissance Fair is over, the Handmaid wants her dress back"... but Joy Behar recovered the segment by following up with "[Stevie] always looks beautiful and she's one of the most talented in the world!"

GypsyBlueEyes 02-01-2010 11:45 AM

I was just coming to post this :)

He joked that she's been wearing the same thing since 1976 and that she bought it from some kind of Wiccan store or something and that the Renaissance is over. But he basically admitted that he was just saying it because he needed a joke and thought she looked good.

Enchanted_Stevi 02-01-2010 11:45 AM

WHAT!! I'll kick that guys ass!!! YOU GO JOY!

ButterCookie 02-01-2010 11:50 AM

I wonder if he knows what a Handmaid is. Cheeky bugger!

He's not wrong.

Stevie is LONG overdue for a makeover. Cut some of that hair off. Find a different dress. She's been stuck on this look since 1997. She's bordering on a self parody.

I really disagree. It's not as if she wears all her Stevie garb in her day to day life.

The chiffon, long hair, tambourines, platforms, gloves and everything are a part of who she is on stage.

It's like saying Debbie Harry needs to dye her hair blue.

skuncles 02-01-2010 01:42 PM

No Stevie doesn't wear her stage clothes around the house (at least I hope not otherwise she really IS Baby Jane!!!). But from 1975 to 1997 Stevie had a unique look that was altered slightly from album to album, tour to tour. Since '97 though she's been stuck on this one look. She used to wear different colors, different styles, her hair was changed around a bit. Now it's the same look every time. Don't women like changing their looks all the time? Stevie's pretty much the only female out there who keeps wearing (what looks like) the same dress to EVERYTHING.

You go, Joy! Hey, maybe Joy will have Stevie on her show. I don't Tweet. Hey, will someone tweet Joy & ask her to have Stevie on her show?

http://twitter.com/joyvbehar

Of course, there's a possibility that Stevie would say no.:D

Lee :)

tlssln 02-01-2010 03:41 PM

I wish she'd wear different colors more too. I think it's a weight issue in her mind. Too bad. I liked that burgundy dress she wore last tour.

Thanks. Of course Stevie has a Twitter account that she doesn't even use. :D So Joy tweeting Stevie wouldn't work.

Lee :)

Bahaha of course! But maybe Joy would get the idea that she NEEDS Stevie on her show, and I'm sure Joy has a way of getting Stevie's number! Or should I say Karen's? My only question is since Stevie isn't really political, what would she talk about other than herself? I can just picture Stevie up there talking to Joy about Tiger Woods. LMAO, but maybe if Stevie decides to release some new stuff, she could announce it on Joy's show! I bet a lot of Stevie fans watch her show, so it'd be the perfect place.

I agree. The long sleave black jacket, corset and skirt (now worn with blackgloves too) is so dull now, I miss the more gauzy things she wore. Wouldn't a floating, drapey gown be more forgiving to her figure than a rigid corset and tightly buttoned blouse? She could wear the 'Blue Denim' outfit and no one would notice she's heavier, wearing knee braces or wearing non-regulation Stevie foot-wear. I'm all for her breaking out the crimping iron again too.

GypsyBlueEyes 02-01-2010 07:56 PM

I would love to see Stevie on tv more but she would catch all kinds of hell for going on Joy's show.

My same thoughts exactly. Her style sometimes looks very matronly and old. The funky-plain black dresses the long dyed hair aren't helping her at all. What happened to the look she had on the Soundstage show?

I don't think she looked matronly or old, she just looked like Stevie, the one we're so used to seeing. In fact, she looked pretty happy through all the mess.

I don't think she could have worn the Rhiannon outfit from the Soundstage show because Taylor was dressed in a blouse and jeans, and it would have looked strange if Stevie came out with the Rhiannon wings, top hat, and tan boots, and Taylor looking like she was going to Sunday School.

samthrax 02-01-2010 08:26 PM

lol @ "non-regulation Stevie footware". Too funny.

My friend told me about this this morning because she knows I'm a fan. She presented it as something negative, which I guess it is, but I just replied, "her fans have been saying that for a while now so that's nothing new." Heh. Those dumb critics could be a lot worse so I'm glad everyone is just showing the love for the most part.

I totally agree. I was hoping she would wear something like the SS outfits last night. I wish she would go back to her DR hair. It was just a little darker and a little shorter. Changing it just a little like that could make a big difference

Angel69 02-01-2010 09:14 PM

I would have been satisfied with the Soundstage Stand Back outfit. Something modern yet still Stevie.

diamondsnake 02-01-2010 09:24 PM

What did happen to her Soundstage "Live in Chicago" look? She looks so good in that concert. Her hair is better, her clothes are better, and her shoes are better. Her look at the grammys was matronly. Her soundstage look is still age appropriate- but modern and fun and flattering.

You cannot tell me whoever her stylist was for that concert is the same person who dressed her and did her hair last night!
