Thanks for sharing the picture!!! I never seen it before!!! LOVIN the shades

You're welcome Enchanted Stevi
Hopefully no one has seen these since I took them and had only shared back in the day with a few people. What a great fun night! I had never been right there at the same eye level as Stevie. During that time period I got to see her another time with them at another club in LA. That time other guests were Roy Orbison (singing Pretty Woman with them), Gary Busey (doing the Buddy Holly thing), Dave Mason (forget what he sang) and Bob Segar (singing Old Time Rock & Roll). What an awesome night that was!! Didn't have a camera that night unfortunately. Eddie Van Halen & Valerie and Ally Sheedy were among the celebs in the crowd. Sue....longing to be 20 something again |

Definitely Tango time. Some time between April 1997 and October 1998. I can't remember if it was pre-Betty Ford or post, but around that time. Sue |

Wow...Stevie was still pretty thin and smokin' here. I suppose the weight really didn't become too problematic until 89 or 90? At any rate, it looks like she and Billy are having a blast together, which is really cool to see. She's usually so intense on stage. It's good to see her clowning and laughing. |
Awesome photo -- thanks for sharing with us!!! :xoxo:

Love the Sunglasses!!

Keep posting and have a great day!!:blob2::blob2::blob2: |
Zoo?
Sorry, I'm a newish serious fan, so I might ask a lot of questions! By Zoo, you mean Mick Fleetwood's Zoo, correct. LOL, I know that sounds really stuipd, I"m sorry!:sorry:

I will post all of them today. Hopefully no one will try to sell them. Ugh. Thanks for telling me. Sue |

Yes, it was Mick Fleetwood's Zoo I was refering to. Funny, I have no pictures of Mick Fleetwood in there. Guess who was the big attraction? :) Sue |

LOL, that kind of caught my eye too. I was like "Stevie was at a zoo!? Sweet!) But eh, this is close enough! I would be taking pictures of Stevie if got that close too! :wavey:Rhiya |

Can't believe I could keep the camera from shaking long enough to take the shots. I don't believe that little camera had a zoom either. I was probably standing about 10 feet away at most and there was no stage. They just played on the dance floor. Once in a lifetime experience. Sigh. Sue |
Thanks for the pics - they are really cool! What did they play?

Great Photos! But it looks like they were in someone's basement. How big was this place?
|
Wish she would do little club appearences like this once in awhile as it is a nicer way to see someone of her caliber. I know that admittance would be limited but it would just be so cool.
|
Stevie showed up w/ the Zoo at the Palomino twice. I was living in LA at the time - heard about the first appearance - kicked myself for not going - but I made sure to show up the second time The Zoo played there.
I moved back to Austin in December of 1987, so these pics must be before 1988. If they're from her 2nd appearance, then I was there! I was close to the wall, on the right side of the stage and didn't have a camera! I could dig through my old journals for the exact date. Thanks so much for posting! :xoxo: |
Those pics are amazing. I was going to say they look like they were playing a Knights of Columbus Hall or Elk's Lodge or something. The moldy ceiling tile is killing me. I can't even imagine being in a small club like that with Stevie just being ten feet away. I've seen most of her shows and have never gotten past nosebleed. Sigh

Since I had seen Stevie with them at another club, I started the night right at the front hoping she would show up again. Lucky me. I wouldn't usually have a camera for the right moment :) Sue |

LOVE THESE PICTURES!!!! Looks like it was ana awesome show and time!! and DAMN Stevie's nails are so long!!! |

Hey, maybe you can help me remember...before then, maybe in March of 1987, she showed up at another club with them. This place was regularly a dance club. In the Valley, I believe. I can't remember the name of the club and would love to know. That was the night when Bob Segar, Dave Mason, Gary Busey, and Roy Orbison also played with them. Do you know the name of that club? Sue -- hoping you do |

Nosebleed? Really? No "Edge walk" shaking of the hands? |
I found my 1987 DayPlanner when I went home for lunch today (I was really looking for my Elmer's glue and purple glitter): Anyway, June 12, 1987 is the night I was at the Zoo's Palomino show w/ Stevie. I'll post exactly what I wrote when I'm back home tonight. It's not much, but it still made me giggle.
ETA: 10 seconds after I posted this, Sara came on the radio. Worth noting for later...I have goosebumps now. |

Here's what I wrote, I used my DayPlanner more like a to-do list, not so much a journal: Thursday, June 11, 1987: Heard "Rhiannon" at 10:08 PM, right when I was writing "Mick Fleetwood's Zoo at the Palomino" and thinking about Friday night - weird Stevie vibes!" Friday, June 12, 1987: Even weirder - Stevie was at the show! Saturday, June 13, 1987: Call Bruce re: last night. Tape Fleetwood Mac on MTV at 8 PM. |

I'm racking my brain trying to think of dance clubs in the valley during that time. I didn't hang out in the valley much at all back then, nor did I frequent dance clubs. I was more into the Sunset Strip/Hollywood scene - The Roxy, Club Lingerie, the Lhasa Club, the Scream club, etc.
ETA: DUH! It's right in front of my face on my bulletin board!! A yellowed clipping from the LA Weekly, a pic of Stevie and some dude playing a shaker, standing behind her. Sounds like it may very well be the same show you asked me about. The caption under the photo says, "Bigger than life! Stevie Nicks drops into Sasch." Then it says: "You needed dark glasses to keep from being blinded by all the stars that were out at Sasch last Tuesday for Mick Fleetwood's Zoo. Joining band members Mick Fleetwood, Billy Burnette, Steve Ross and Kenny Gradney were some extra-special stellar guests, like that guy who's always prepared for star-gazing, Roy Orbison; a real substanatial Stevie Nicks; that other sun-glassed bro, Stax/Volt guitar hero Steve Cropper; Dave Mason; Jeff "Skunk" Baxter of the Doobie Brothers; and Gary Busey - all jamming out on tunes like "All Along the Watchtower," "Soul Man," "Well Alright" and "Rhiannon." The audience was no slouch in the fame department either: Guitarzan Eddie Van Halen with tube-u-lar Valerie Bertinnelli, Lee Rocker (Stray Cats), long tall Shelley Duvall, an unSly Sascha Stallone, Grizzly Dan Haggerty and Frazer Smith all crowded in to watch the guys and gal "Tear It Up." |

Club Lingerie brought back memories too. Chuck E. Weiss and the GD Liars on Monday nights always was fun with special guests too. You made my day!! Thanks so much again!!! Happy Sue |

I think there was also some sort of Zoo show in Denver that year with Stevie Nicks as guest?? |
Thank you!!!
Wow, Thank you so much for these pics, never seen...
