Paper Doll at the grocery store!
I went to the grocery store after work this morning and as I walked through thr door I heard what I thought was Stevie singing.I got my cart and stopped to listen better. Then it hit me.I don't think I've ever heard that song anywhere unless I was listening to the cd. I even got a little annoyed when someone was paged and it interupted the song.

I felt the same way when I heard Reconsider Me at Home Depot.

I love those moments! I heard SYW at the grocery store last week.

My weirdest story....when I was a freshmen(now a senior), I went to Boston Market across the street for lunch, hahah. And I stopped to listen I heard Say You Will, then another Fleetwood Mac song from the mirage album not too sure which one, and then Christine's "friend" and then Chris's "You Are", I was too naive to realize, that it must have been the managers mixed cd, or just a really great day to be a Fleetwood mac fan at Boston Market, haha

On two separate occasions (once in 2006 and the other just a couple months ago), I've heard the 9 minute version of "Sara" while walking through Boston's Logan Airport. Pretty bizarre.

Cool story! I always hear the same old songs on the radsio, at stores etc. mostly "Little Lies", "Everywhere", "Dreams","Go Your Own Way"
A while ago I heard "As Long As You Follow" at the cafetaria at work, I was completely in shock, but that's as rare as it gets. |
Giant Eagle (a PA/OH/WV, etc grocery chain) always seems to be playing somewhat rare FM-related songs. I can remember hearing Angel, Trouble, Magnet and Steel, Got a Hold on Me...and a few others that aren't coming to mind right now.

It seems to me that the same places play the same music on a loop. I know that I've been to P. F. Chang's two different times when they played Countdown.

I hear Paper Doll almost every day at Walgreens. It's actually for some odd reason their most played Fleetwood Mac song with Tusk a close second, and thats pretty much it for regularly played Fleetwood Mac songs. It's weird.

I heard Peacekeeper at a Stop n Shop in Framingham, MA in like May, I was shocked!!
Then at the Big Y in like July i heard 7 Wonders, and I forgot to play the coin game! lol. I love hearing 'rare' ones around here. I mostly hear 'Dreams', 'Rhiannon', 'GOYW', and Chris' 75/77 songs. I heard 'Hold Me' on a Christine block the day after my birthday and I nearly *****tt my pants!! [Sometimes they play 'Stand Back' on 102.1...] My mom said she heard 'Go Insane' once, but I told her she must have been on something, since they never play anything good like that :/ |

Back in 2001 I heard the dance remix of Planets of the Univers in Abercrombie and Bitch. I was really surprised as they are suppose to be so "youth oriented and hip" thought they would only play rap and stuff I have never heard of.

I really am a Fleetwood Mac Stevie maniac I realized when I was at the local grocery store and they played "Fireflies". Not that much of a big deal you would think ....
But it wasn't the Fireflies that I hjave on my Live FM album it was ANOTHER version. Oh, Yes... I stopped so I could listen to the words. Came home and tracked it down on You tube (I think) and now I have it saved. Better than the original where you really have no idea what she is saying, it is a soundcheck (suppossedly) and she is mumbling, on the original Live vinyl that I have. In this other version her lyrics and vocals are much stronger and clear... I was amazed!- You never know where you'll find good music.... |

I've heard "Angel" at the local Giant Eagle (or Jine Iggle, if you're from Northwestern PA). When I lived and worked in Michigan, we would often go to lunch at a Bennigan's down the street, and two things were guaranteed to happen every time I set foot through the door - I'd hear "Trouble" and Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" during the meal, and I'd eat my weight in fried chicken salad. Good times, good times. :blob2: |
I heard 'Talk to Me' at Marshalls yesterday
|
I heard Hold Me yesterday. I was soooo singing it while checking out
|
I work at a Foodland store in Western PA (I am the Butcher). I always hear As Long As You Follow and Thrown Down. Also, Say You Will and, for some reason I hear... kinda unrelated... 3 or more times a week... With Your Love by Jefferson Starship!!:o

I heard "As Long As You Follow" in Big Lots on Friday night, hahah

It takes me about 50 minutes to get my nails done and in 13 years, I don't think I've ever been in there once when I didn't hear a FM or (solo Macster's) song come on the radio. I'm not exaggerating. I have a picture of FM as a screen saver on my phone and every time their song comes on, I point to the phone and tell the manicurist that that is them. I think she suspects I am lying, because every single time I am in there, I tell her it's them on the radio. But it is!
My appointment was this morning and today the song on the radio was GYOW. I said to the manicurist, "Hear that? Myan, that's the man I went to see in concert last night." She smiled at me and nodded, but I don't think she believed me. Michele |
I remember one time awhile back I heard a song that I had never heard in a store. I think it may have been ALAYF. I totally love those moments. Totally makes my shopping experience 1,000 times better.
