Thanks for sharing this--one of the most well known bootlegs from that era. The performances are top-notch on almost all the songs. Not enough Christine, I'm afraid, since certainly "Get Like You Used to Be" and, I believe, "Why" were omitted from the recording. Not sure why this was the case. Must have been created by a BN fan

In any case, thanks! Glad you have this recording and want to share it with others.

I believe this show is from 1978.

I'm pretty sure it's not. It's from 1975.

vivfox 08-30-2008 12:18 AM

I agree with aleuzzi. This show is NOT from 1978. David, you should know better.

David 08-30-2008 09:36 AM

I'm going to stand by my initial assertion: 1978.

I'm just being pickle. It was my perverse way of saying, "That date isn't correct." I get so tired of hearing myself say that, so I try something else.

i'm 100% sure this is from the dance tour david

michelej1 08-31-2008 09:33 PM

You can tell by the full, wide sound that Christine is playing a custom chopped B-3, with a Dynacord DC100 leslie. Therefore, there's no conceivable way it could be 1978.

Oh David, how you are fading.

Oh, thank you. Many times I only have one or 2 tracks from a concert. It's great to get so many at one sitting! A virtual feast.

No "Get Like You Used To Be"??? That's floating around somewhere in webland...then the set will be complete.

And, David, stop being a dip****, you know very well that first show was from 1975...the date may be wrong (as well as the location), but definitely the correct year.

nailatixela 09-04-2008 06:37 PM

I don't have Get Like You Used To Be - didn't know it was done at that show.

Back then it usually was the opener. They never opened with "Station Man", ever.

Here is another white album show for download. Hope this date info is right - I was downloading this expecting it to be a different date. I think I've got it right now though. This features an early version of go your own way.

Here is another one, this time I have "Get Like You Used To Be" from the show. :)

Early on they actually opened with that song. Stevie didn't make an appearance until after the opener! Kind of strange, huh? Eventually they just dropped that number, but it's a great rocking, bluesy song, and a rare nod to Christine's Chicken Shack days.

It's cool because it doesn't modulate to the dominant at all (12-bar blues usually modulates to the dominant).

Hey viv, I honestly haven't listened to all of this show yet so I can't tell you anything about those interviews or what they are about. Thanks for posting those pics though.

Here you go. It was the set opener that evening.

nailatixela 09-28-2008 02:19 PM

Thanks for that aleuzzi. :)

I listened to the interviews that are on the Midnight Special disc. They are very short things. Stevie on Rhiannon, Steive on stage outfits, Mick on Lindsey's guirtar playing, Christine on writing, and John, Christine, and Lindsey on the band's playing and how they have changed.

Thank you for sharing these! From looking at the setlist I would bet it's actually the audio from the Rosebud documentary.

You're welcome Tim. Is that pic of Stevie from this last tour in your avatar? I love that new HAEWAFY outfit she had.

I think it's the Rosebud Doc. too now. I was never quite sure what the difference was with those 2 to be honest.

Yes, I took the picture at the Chicago show this year. I was so glad to see her wearing white again! Who knows...maybe she'll bust out some red the next time around! (wishful thinking on my part, I know)
