I have a great version of Stand Back 1983. I believe it's from an Oakland California performance but I'm not sure. It's superb quality. I will try to upload it for you tomorrow in the late afternoon.

This is one of my favorite live versions of Rhiannon from 1982 with FM:

She doesn't really rock on this one, but it sounds pretty, Alice:

You, your friend, and no other human should ever have any live collection of anything ever, Stevie or not, unless you have Insider, Live. Since you didn't mention it, I'm almost thinking you already have it on your list. But just in case you do not, here it is. I also don't know if someone else just posted it. If they didn't, they are totally remiss.
It is THE live song.

Well, at least tied with SOTM Mirage, and a couple Rhiannons for best live song.

But this is A live HARMONY song, it's on a whole different level. It's not just Stevie yelling awesomely on her own melody and song, it's a f*cking live harmony, on a Tom Petty song.
I submit, there has never been a more beautiful or strange or masterful live harmony then this one. No one before, since, or ever, could have made up or sung this harmony like she did. It's completely unique.

The harmony here is so sublime it makes me weep. WEEP, I tells ya!!! :p

Anyone can make up a regular harmony, and record it nicely in a studio. You can tell a real singer when they do one LIVE that is almost beyond comprehension.

The download worked for me, let me know if there is a problem.

Hope I didn't oversell this, but I don't think you COULD oversell this performance.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a "live" version, or versions of Blue Lamp, but I have a zip of the Blue Lamp, and I hope it will work!

"Gold And Braid" and "Edge of Seventeen" from the HBO special (the 2 features on the Enchanted Boxsett) are essentials IMO. Also, 'Landslide' from The Dance, 'No Spoken Word' from Red Rocks. Here is 'Talk To Me' from the House Of Blue's '94 show. One of my fav versions of this song: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=50AEF0Y9

If you want the best live stuff, just get the CD's - Fleetwood Mac Live, The Dance, Live In Boston, The Enchanted Boxset, Crystal Visions - they all have some killer live stuff on.

How about Fireflies from the Live CD? I LOVE that song :D

I like INSIDER, too. But I don't understand Amber's view that it's a new or ad-libbed harmony.

Also, there's an old Tom Petty Innerview with Jim Ladd from 1981 or 1982 with discussion about how Tom told Stevie to sing the melody but she couldn't stay on the melody -- she just naturally went to the harmony. After Tom & Jimmy heard the rough track, they got really turned on by it & decided to keep Stevie on harmony.

I still think "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" from Red Rocks was the best ever live recording of this song. I love the spoken part at the end "..and when they ask her about the men in her life she says as difficult as it has been... they are poets".

And I giggle every single time during the bridge when she looks at her backup singers and then points to one of the musicians and says "sing for him". When the album version is on I always say that and nobody I'm with ever gets it. But it still tickles me pink.

And, am I alone in my live of the Fleetwood Mac Live 1980 version of Landslide. Stevie sounds so timid and strained yet more emotional here than on any other recording. This one wins every time, second only from that incredible orchestral version from Crystal Visions.
