First GOS single is...

"Did you miss me?" according to Radio and Records. Just thought I'd share...

Peestie 07-24-2008 09:42 AM

Cool. Did they play it? His website is down so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they're maybe putting some songs up....

joe68 07-24-2008 09:47 AM

No, didnt play it. Its just a list of this week's new single releases.

Peestie 07-24-2008 09:53 AM

Cool. I guess that if it's been released this week then we should be able to hear it pretty soon. Can't wait.

THIS WEEK! I never expected that with the album out in mid-September. What a great surprise.

And even if you did miss me, you never let me know . . .

Michele

Is "Did you miss me" projected to be one of the original GOS demos?

I can't wait to hear it. Will also keep an eye out on iTunes!

ETA: Does anybody know who is running this site? Doesn't seem official:

According to Radio and Records, the first radio single from Gift of Screws going for adds this week at Triple A radio stations around the US is “Did You Miss Me” (Reprise).

Livia 07-25-2008 05:29 PM

Local DJ/friend of mine just emailed me that he'd be playing it this Sunday on his morning show. I told him "Morning? Sunday morning to me is noon." He said he'd play it after 11:15 AM. You can listen online - kgsr.com.

Oh, he said it's more radio friendly than anything from UTS, he's planning to add it to their rotation.

A brief snippet of the song.

Awwww.

I missed him in the morning, missed him in the evening, and all the minutes in between.

Did you ever run where the wind blows reminds me of The Chain. Nice photo too, but even that is a little blurry, just like the cover.

I like it, I love it. I want some more of it. I try so hard. I can't rise above it . . .

That's what I heard as well!

vivfox 07-25-2008 09:26 PM

Wow. Loved it on first listen! It sounds a lot like Peacekeeper.

michelej1 07-25-2008 09:37 PM

Nothing against Peacekeeper, but I like this better.

It reminded me a lot of mirage for some weird reason. Can't wait to hear the whole song.

This blows Peacekeeper out of the water!

Moz 07-25-2008 11:12 PM

Awesome. This makes me even more excited for September 16!

I'm not a huge Peacekeeper fan, and I can hear a similarity initially, but to me it sounds much, much more appealing (and beautiful) and very, very Lindsey. Love what I've heard- and I've been stoked about September 16th since the first post on this board regarding the news.

Besides it reminding me of Peacekeeper, as I was listening to try & understand what the connection was for me, in my head I thought of Mirage as well. Then in the next flash I was thinking, "please Lindsey make this as commercial as possible." Only because I'd really love for him to have a real hit record. As much as I love Bwana, it wouldn't have played well coming out of grandma's radio in Missouri on a hot and sweaty summer afternoon.

Josh2003 07-25-2008 11:31 PM

Hmmm...it doesn't really do much for me, upon first listen.

nodmod 07-26-2008 04:36 AM

Nice to see some more artwork, but does the font seemed to be cut off at the top, same with the album cover, strange

TrueFaith77 07-26-2008 08:07 AM

I wonder if Lindsey&co. will update his myspace page in time for the single's premiere.:o

Phoenixgypsy 07-26-2008 08:23 AM

Sounds good to me!

DavidMn 07-26-2008 11:13 AM

Unbelieveable! what an amazing song. I was actually tearing up a bit.

I was sobbing, Dave. I couldn't hold it back -- the waterworks, that is. To me, it sounds like the mad fugue of the Hammerklavier mixed with the score of You And I Part One turned upside-down.

David, you never cease to amaze me, in a good way.

So does that mean you liked it or hated it?

Janet 07-26-2008 11:46 AM

I like David's vocabulary. He must play a lot of Scrabble.
