That looks like a Trouble in Shangri-La tour photo, Peter. Is it?

No, it's a Rama Casino pic... The sleeves of her jacket look like something she was wearing at the time, but you can tell by the dress part that it's current.

bikerchic 06-19-2008 01:47 PM

^ Yeah, that was last nite. I was there, right at the stage and was able to see the dress up close and it's a different skirt with the Trouble In Shangri-La sleeves. It was a great show!

Love that photo, it is like she is saying "hey what are you doing?"

So...could the concert be described as a Rendezvous With Rama?

The show was pretty much what everyone else has said. Crash is growing on me. Seeing her perform live up close, you can see she really loves this song and loves to perform it. Face the Promise was fantastic live. She really rocked it out. Really smiling and shaken as she performed it. She did seem to have some serious ear monitor trouble though. All nite, with both hands, she was constantly pressing her fingers on her ears and shaking them, with a mad look on her face (in between songs) in the dark, but as soon as the lights came back up, a great big smile.

A couple of things you might be interested in that she said:

-when she was introducing the girls, she said how much fun they made being on the road, but that she doesn't really see them alot because, she gets on a plane and they get on a bus. The audience gave alittle joking boo and I think she felt alittle embarrased. Her face turned alittle red and she shrugged her shoulders.

-at one point her mic fell off the stand. It litterly jumped out of the stand and hit the floor. When Stevie turned around it wasn't there and she was looking for it. She looked more baffled then mad. Her tec came running out and put it back on. She said, O.K. , what is it about this place? Something is going on here. And then laughed. I think she was impling that there were spirits or something. It is a casino on an old Indian Reserve after all

-she commented how old her shawls were and that you can't just throw them on the floor anymore. That you have to set them down nicely and that all the beads were sticking to each other and she laughed and said welcome to my world.

-she did talk about her PBS special coming out this summer and that she worked very hard on it and that she was really excited about it coming out (this summer).

-Sharon looked miserable all nite. I guess thats normal. Up close you really see everyone's facial expressions. Waddy was really playful with the audience though.

-Edge was was alittle lack luster but still good.

I did finally get to shake her hand and give her a letter that I had written her. Whether she reads it or not is another story.

Anyhow that's all I can think of now.

Thanks for the review and tidbits!

Did y'all ride up (down?) to the show? If so, was the weather good?

bikerchic 06-20-2008 09:17 AM

^ Hi Strand :wavey: No we didn't ride up. Took the pick up truck  There was a little light shower on the way up, so just as well.

Thanks for the little bits of info... She might have also been talking about last year when she wiped out on stage... This was the place wasn't it, or was that in London, ON?

Funny that she should say that, as we have photographic evidence from this "Not a Tour" Tour of her tossing her awesome red shawl on the floor and Waddy stepping all over it. For shame, Stevie!
