Blue Lamp 64 04-23-2008 08:58 AM

What is your poison??

A simple little poll question ;)

What do you like to drink the most??

Coffee??
Or
Tea??

Please note if you like cream and or sugar in your drink as well:D

dnightshade 04-23-2008 09:01 AM

Well, as I'm sitting here w a carafe of coffee, I'd have to say coffee. Though I do enjoy tea - esp. green - at night.

Blue Lamp 64 04-23-2008 09:04 AM

I drink mostly coffee after I wake up at night but I also like drink tea as well:)

I choose coffee just black ;)

dnightshade 04-23-2008 09:05 AM

Oh no . . . not black. I have to have it very light, pref. w half n half. No sugar. And I LOVE flavored coffee - esp. mocha almond.

gretchen 04-23-2008 09:15 AM

I like both coffee and tea.

Fave tea is Bigelow Earl Grey...but a close second is Bigelow Constant Comment tea (an orange spice tea with cloves) DELICIOUS!!

I like my coffee strong and black, fave is Trader Joe's Bay Blend and I grind my own beans. My husband's fave is Bay Blend as well, but he likes milk & sugar in his.

I also love a nice espresso with lemon zest.

petep9000 04-23-2008 09:21 AM

I choke down one cup of 'Nescafe' in the morning with some milk in it, no sugar. It serves to just get my eyes open so I can maneuver in my kitchen to fix breakfast and make my lunch, shower and dress etc. No day can start without it, but in truth I don't really relish it.
During daytime, I sip cups of green tea with less than half a sweet-n-low in it. I alternate sometimes with 'kava' tea, if I'm stressy. After work and I'm home, maybe one more cup of 'kava' tea or chamomile before bed.
Water, otherwise. No pop drinks, iced tea or juice. Well, unless I'm in cocktail lounge, and then I'll have a 'Captain Morgan' spiced rum with coke. But just one of those. Oh, and 2% milk with cookies.

BTFLCHLD 04-23-2008 10:12 AM

I like Don Fransico's coffee in either cinnamon hazelnut or butterscotch toffee. I usually have black but sometimes I will add some sugar and cream...depends on my mood. I like Stash tea best. :wavey:

sara1998 04-23-2008 10:26 AM

I drink the crap here at work. It's Foldgers, but it's a quarter a cup, and it's a big cup! I generally don't drink it at home unless I really crave some. I drink mine with Splenda and powdered creamer. I don't like liquid creamer at all... other than that, it's choke down a Mt. Dew at home first thing in the morning to wake up with, coffee and water here at work, and mainly water at home in the evenings.

Enchanted_Stevi 04-23-2008 10:35 AM

I like my tea when I am sick but I am more of a coffee person
Dunkin Donuts ALL the way!!

ooh...that coffee sounds lovely...whats stash green tea? You put milk in it? Errr..I drink green tea usually jasmine, pretty much given up on coffee. (me just trying to be healthier, I guess) no milk, sometimes with a blob of honey.

clb0013 04-23-2008 01:39 PM

I like them both! :]

Sarah 04-23-2008 01:41 PM

I've pretty much totally given up coffee.
I love all kinds of tea though... almost always cold tea. :)

Steviefan49 04-23-2008 02:04 PM

Here I work at a Company with a $3,000 Espresso machine with 20 different kinds of syrup in the front, and all I drink is tea! LOL. I know, what a waste! LOL- Since the boyfriend is from England, all I drink is tea with milk - for the past 5 years.. LOL :p

Villavic 04-23-2008 02:20 PM

I chose tea though I go for several infusions.. including coca tea.

Peestie 04-23-2008 03:11 PM

I'm a total tea addict. I always take it black, so never any sugar or milk for me. At home me and my flatmate have 10-15 different types of tea in out cupboard ranging from apple and cinnamon, to white tea, raspberry and rose. They're all great but nothing beats a cup of Tetley first thing in the morning to get you going.

I never really drink coffee. I had one recently because I was at my friend's and we had already had a good few cups of tea and she wanted coffee so I was too polite to refuse her offer after inflicting so much tea upon her. After that cup I think I'll probably not have another for a good few months because it just isn't my thing.

Gypsy-Rhiannon 04-23-2008 03:25 PM

I don't drink either much these days but if I make anything at home it's coffee. And decaff. If I drink out I usually have a cappuccino or a latte

Do you both drink Newcastle Brown just for your breakfast??!

I drink Jasmine tea without milk and sugar. I drink a very occasional expresso but tea is the drink for me!

OOOHHH tea with honey....THAT's a good drink too.
And the Germans taught me...hot tea with rum, when I was a foreign exchange student over there.

STASH is the brand name. It comes in a box and calls itsself:

STASH - Fusion
green & white tea

Here this their commercial - printed on the box:

"White tea is full of potent antioxidants and may even be more beneficial than green tea. Rare and expensive white tea from China has been blended with top quality green teas for our Fusion blend. Pale gold in color, this tea has a unique smooth flavor and a hint of sweetness. Its delicate, exquisite taste is a treat for the connoisseur."

NOW -- I ask you....how can anybody say no to that?

It says White tea, Japanese green, Chinese green, Assam green, Darjeeling green, and organic green teas.

I got tired of the *free Lipton* and *Earl Gray* tea they were serving at the office, so I picked up a box of this stuff.

Tetley? Are you in The UK? You don't drink PG Tips??

chiliD 04-23-2008 04:58 PM

I didn't start drinking coffee until I was 45 and was mis-diagnosed with MS. The Dr suggested I drink ONE CUP of coffee in the morning which should help the MS symptom of vertigo.

It finally was discovered that what I WAS suffering from was Aspartame Toxicity...which mimics MS. (I was drinking nearly a 12-pack of Diet Coke a day!!!!)

I've always consumed a decent quantity of tea, as well. Mainly, green tea. But, I go through phases with that.

Now, Iced Tea, I drink that a whole lot now that I've finally weaned myself off the Diet Cokes.

Yup, I'm in the UK. Don't think I've ever had PG Tips before because I was brought up on Tetley. Sometimes I'll have some Nambari. I'd say my most common tea is Earl Grey since I'd have at least two cups of that a day but I only drink Tetley first thing in the morning. I'd have a whole load of herbal teas as well but they change depending on my mood and what ones I've got in stock.

 OM Goodness!!! nearly 12 packs a day! I bet you feel a million times better now having given up on those (and no doubt lost a bit of weight as well...those things can def make you wobble in all the wrong places!)

Betsy 04-24-2008 12:22 PM

Hey ChiliD --

If regular Coke will eat the rust off of a nail, what does 12 Diet Cokes do?

Didn't you have a scare with MotrinIB too?

jannieC 04-24-2008 03:53 PM

I can not function without coffee. And because I managed a coffee house for a few years, I am a snob and love expensive coffee. Sumatra is one of my favorites.

I drink it with an equal and coffemate. I probably drink two cups a day and then only water.

I can't even touch Diet Coke, if I drink half of one I start feeling jittery, 'cloudy', headachey and just in general 'bad'. Bad stuff, and I know some people who were Diet Coke addicts too. I think even Splenda is bad. For me, I prefer real sugar. But to cut the calories, I'll use just a tiny dusting of Sweet -N- Low in my tea. Not even half a packet, but it's enough to sweeten the green tea slightly.

DavidMn 04-25-2008 02:36 AM

Diet Pepsi all they way here. Diet Coke is friggin gross!

Chai tea is good, but...

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/2/1429318_f8deea19b5.jpg

Irish coffee at Tosca's in SF is better.

SuzeQuze 04-25-2008 11:11 AM

Coffee with cream and Splenda. It just tastes so much better with cream than milk. I've tried soy and that just ruins the flavor because it's too nutty. I have to have a cup in the morning to even function so the first thing I do every day is make coffee. Mufasa will occasionally have a few grinds. Yeah, my cat likes coffee, very strange. Now one of you will tell me it's poisonous to cats.

I have another cup every afternoon after lunch. Otherwise I am drowsy and junk. I'm sipping a Green Mountain iced coffee right now. I didn't feel like walking to Dunks but now I of course wish I had. What do they put in that coffee - crack? It's so good!

macmar71 04-25-2008 11:54 AM

I drink both but I prefer tea....both obviously served light and sweet !

Blue Lamp 64 04-26-2008 01:01 PM

Here's the brand I drink:)
I drink about a pot to pot 1/2 a night before I go to work..
