Stevie Nicks Mohegan Show

Stevie Nicks Rocked The Sold Out Crowd at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on Sunday April 20th 2008. Stevie was in top form incredible band and amazing energetic performance. Stevie's second performance at the casino with in a year and Stevie took control of the crowd under spell as always. had 4th row end seat center and moved my way to the front of the stage during edge of seventeen didn't get to shake hands with stevie just see her upclose was good for me and waddy was amazing as always, met some great fellow board members from last years show like Kim Songbird 4. and Looking forward to meeting up with everyone at the boston show i might be also going to the jones beach show in new york if my wallet allows me to do so. Stevie is an amazing artist and so glad she is back on the road touring again this year.:]

Stevie had no opening act at this show it was an Evening With Stevie Show awesome show she did the same set as the Reading Show lots of talking in between songs which was awesome Stevie is really a great woman and artist and performer she is truley like Fine Wine.

It was great meeting with everyone it really did get very tight up front during the Edge of seventeen walk and it was so cool to be up at the front stage again. Great group of people at the Stevie and Fleetwood Mac shows. Hopefully Fleetwood Mac would reunite again next year if not hopefully Stevie will do another solo tour as well.

Peace and Love,

Steve:wavey:

OH MY GOD!! I am on such a concert high. I drove two hours with my mom and grandparents down to Mohegan and it was worth every second. We were very worried when we were told that she was coming on at 7 and we were still looking for parking at 6:30!! But we made it. I had 5th row seats in section three on Waddys side. The crowd as Bill said was very loud, but they sat for most of the show....Not me. I only sat for the Piano intros, drum solos ect.

Stand Back - I am starting to love this as the opener. But next time I am going to make sure to enjoy it more. She was wearing her skirt this time and not the boots, but the short skirt. Her twirls were very slow and the high kick wasn't so high....still a great version.

Enchanted - Ehhh same old. Most people sat down for this one.

If Anyone Falls - I hope this never leaves her set. I have been dying to see this live since I was 7 years old. I got my chance last summer and loved it, but tonights version was even better. Everyone got into the acapella part.

Crash - First of all, I love this song. I have always loved it by DMB. I have to take back what I said about Stevies version. Tonights was great, she really got into it at the end. She said something in the beginning about how playing this song has made her the happiest shes been in 15 years?? Blamed FM or something. I think she was blowin smoke. But still this was beautiful.

Rhiannon - Black ruffle skirt with wings. Ahhh same old, but the end kicked ass. She really got into it.

Dreams - Go away

Sorcerer- Now THIS was GOOD! Waddy and Al gave me some smiles because I was one of the few who knew the words. A lot of people stood for this one surprisingly. At the end she belted "yeaahhhhh, yeahhhhhh, YEAHHHHHHH" and hopped up and down for each "yeah". It was awesome.

Gold Dust Woman - Very, very good tonight. I loved the ending. Last year this one seemed to float on by, but she really got into it. For this one she was in her longer dress and the GDW shawl.

Landslide - Yeah I guess it was good. Im just so sick of it. My ex bf joined this one, he wanted me to call him.

*At this point I left my seat and tried to sneak up to the stage but an angry Indian Tribal man came up to me and told me to go back to my seat. SECURITY SUCKED! I saw this one poor guy just dancing a few inches away from his seat into the aisle and he got talked to multiple times. They were serious pricks!*

How Still - This was pretty good. I love groovin to this one.

Edge - I bolted for the stage and got yelled at again, but ignored the guy and planted myself in front of Waddy. There was a very short woman in front of me who was no bigger than the stage. I think I might have shoved her a bit when Stevie came to me. This was the most amazing handshake ive ever gotten, and Ive gotten to shake her hands a few times. I grabbed her left hand and then she took my other hand and looked at me. I told her I loved her and she just smiled. But my stomach dropped. I was starstruck.

Rock and Roll - She came out and I think she high-kicked Waddy with her boot. She tried to apologize, but it was funny!! This one rocks!

Beauty - Purely beautiful. She thanked the audience for being super awesome.

I had an amazing time and I cannot wait for Boston!!!

Hi Jim,

I am such on a high still from this show and I am going to the boston show too I sat down once or twice during stevie talking i was up and moving i can't just sit still in my seat i am pumped up at Stevie Fleetwood Mac and Heart Shows especially I was lucky to meet up with some people that were the same way. Some people next to me in my isle I had 4th isle seat section 2 which is center and go to the front of the stage didn't shake hands with her tonight but she did give me a big smile and wave it is awesome experience to be in the front of the stage and have her be right in front of you like that it's really like meeting God to Me...lol Stevie is a religious spirtual experience I can't believe it I so wired from the show still its like you don't want to the concert to end.

Jim are going to any other shows on this tour? good to hear from you

Peace,

IM SOOO GLAD U HAD FUN!!!!!!!:] Great review.

Im still totally jealous of annyone who's gotten to shake her hand durring the edge walk. Yes ive met her, but this is just like a must.

StandbackStevie 04-21-2008 12:27 AM

Thanks and the mohegan sun arena is probably the best place in connecticut to see a great show can't wait for the boston show .:wavey:

teedee 04-21-2008 12:38 AM

great show at mohegan

the show was great, stevie sounded and looked great. there was no opening act, which i actually liked it being just stevie. yes the set list is the same, but you should keep in mind that this is an extention of the crystal visions tour and not really a new tour...just new dates... she was in a great mood and sounded fantastic. one thing i dont like is when stevie refers to her self as an old lady, yes she will be sixty, but that is not old today... maybe as a rocker, she feels she cant do what she did on stage when she was 40, but thats true for everyone stevie,i still walk away from her shows in awe.... shes still young at heart, has a great sense of humor sounds great and as always looks beautiful...

Songbird4 04-21-2008 02:12 AM

I just walked in the door....who knew poker could be so much fun!!

The show was great!! She defininately put all her energy into it. I think Sorcerer was the highlight of the night for me. I don't really like the song, but with the waitress and cleaning lady bit she does before combined with her nailing the end...it was the highlight of the night for me. Crash was the real reason I went to the show...needed to hear it live. I thought the first few notes were a little off, then she settled into it nicely. She was Chatty Cathy and very animated.....she seemed all around happy and really appreciated the crowd.

Security could have cared less if you took pics or videos, but wasn't letting anyone up til Edge....or the "White Dove hits the screen" as they were telling everyone. I took some pics and video. I'll try to get the pics up tomorrow....I'm not sure about the video yet.

Steve, it was great seeing you!! Look forward to seeing you again soon. Tina, sad I missed you....hope to catch you at the next show!!

~Kim

yes they say no camera's and people were flashing left and right i had 4th row center isle seat actually people were going up to the stage with there cell phones taking pictures in front of the security guys and they seemed to be more laxed than with the two voices tour at mohegan in 2005 had front row in front of stevie and it was very tight security then last night seemed more relax with security i though and seemed alot more people were able to go to the stage felt like the all the floor seating was up against the stage last night great crowd and awesome show. i am sure you will see pictures being posted from this show soon. I didn't bring a camera with me i should have would have had awesome pics.

what was the merchandise? is it the same as last year because i have read it is the same.

Chrislit18 04-21-2008 10:02 AM

The show was so amazing!
I seriously almost cried during Landslide.

I took some videos, and some mostly blury pics, she never stops moving! lol.
[they didnt even notice my camera under my sunglasses lol!]

I was in sec 5, row N...I wish I could have been closer....better luck next time....
the people around me were standing up the whole time too, except during like Enchanted, Sorcerer, and the drum solos [which IMO could be taken out of the show, it was the worst part of it for me!]

I love Rhiannon, I took a video of the opening piano solo
Crash was soooo good. I have a video of this as well. I like Stevies almost as much as the original.
Dreams was blah, and Sorcerer too-but I loved the air guitar she did during it. I have video of it as well!
Enchanted was fun actually. so I have no complaints.
Rock and Roll Kickd A$$!!
and Eo17 was great, I didnt think I could tolerate such a long version of it, but I did
HSML was probably one of my favorites of the night. I wish she'd do more BD songs....

I wish I could go to the Boston show now!!
But I'm saving my money in case other tours come around by this summer.

I heard she did ALL THE KING'S HORSES at this show. Is this true, or just another silly rumor?

Chrislit18 04-21-2008 10:43 AM

She did adlib during songs..
But I am not entirely farmiliar with ATKH...so I dont know if the lyrics were adlibed or not [EO17 and I think two other songs she added some extra lyrics at the end...]
but I do know she did not perform any entirely new songs AT ALL...which was quite dissapointing.
but as far as I know David, it is just a silly rumour.....

I thought it was a great show, yeah the same old set list whatever. If you've been thinking about going but don't like the set list, don't let that stop you. Stevie is having so much fun on stage that it carries over into the crowd. This is the ninth tour I've seen of Stevie's since 1986 and it's one of her best. As she said last night, she's nearing 60 and she'll do what she wants!!

I love how she said that, how what shes doing isnt 'show bussinesslike' but shes almost 60 so why should she care.

that made me love her even more. :)

Stevie is amazing. and this show proved it to me even more!

bucklind17 04-21-2008 05:44 PM

I had a great time at the Mohegan show! To be honest, I was pretty excited to find that there was no opening act. I was sitting waiting for the show to start and realized that Stevie's scarves were already tied around the mic stand and that the stage seemed ready for her set.

I haven't seen Stevie in a few years, I missed the last tour and the one before that, so the setlist being pretty much exactly the same as it has been for awhile didn't really bother me that much. Highlights of the set for me were "Gold Dust Woman", "Stand Back" and "Landslide", which got the crowd roaring and beating their feet afterwards. "Sorceror" totally rocked as well, I need to pay more attention to that song! Stevie looked absolutely fabulous (I especially loved her top hat) and was her wonderful sassy self ("this isn't very showbiz like, but I'm almost 60 years old, what do I care? Like I care!") and reminded us again that she was the breadwinner and playing "Cinderelli" in those early years with Lindsey while he sat home writing his "angsty" and "miserable" songs.

The best for me was toward the end of the show. Since I was there by myself, it was easy for me to just bee-line toward the front of the stage when I realized "Edge of 17" was starting. As I got up there, a security guard pretended to stop me but he really didn't seem to care and I plopped myself right in front of Waddy for the last three songs. SO fabulous! I have never been that close at a concert, Stevie or otherwise. Got lots of Waddy in my face, was able to rock out to "Edge" and "Rock and Roll" and "Beauty and the Beast" was especially gorgeous being so close to Stevie and so much a part of the action. Plus, I got to shake Stevie's hand during the Edge Walk, which I really didn't think would ever actually happen!

I think there may have been a few Ledgies up there too, I was the one in the gray top, so if you were up there, say hi! I had a great time at the show and I'm glad I got to go!

Hi Kathy,
yes tour merchandise was the same except no tour book and they brought out the poster which i though was limited the herbert worthington pic of stevie in black with the feather headress it was the cover of the standback remix cd single cover they brought that poster back and the photo shirt from the cover of crystal visions that she was the same except it didnt have the citys she played in 2007 just on back of shirt just said Stevie Nicks but basically everything esle was the same baseball cap which i bought and the poster was so happy to see that poster cause I missed out on it last year when they played mohegan sun they didn't have that poster.

my guess with the new tour coming up in june i would think she would have new merchandise cause of the soundstage dvd /cd package coming out in July 1st.

Peace,

When I do upload, Ill load the air guitar video, if i have an edge vid ill load that as well and send it to you via sendspace or mediafire.

I tried loading my vids on youtube of the LB concert last year and it didnt work.

But i will do that for you when i get back Sandy...I hope you find the air guitar as enjoyable as I did!!

Hi,
I was up there too in front of waddy I do remember a guy with a gray shirt that was near me I was in front a blonde girl with a white tank top or sleevless shirt and another guy in front me he had a white shirt which he took off and thru on stage and and also his sun glasses had a blast with this crowd of people loved every moment and I didn't get to shake hands with Stevie this time did have my hands in front of her though but she did give me a big smile and a wave which is priceless to me up close to her its about as good as meeting her backstage to be up front its awesome and also addicting when another show pops up. I was wearing a black stevie nicks baseball cap with her Black Crystal Visions Tour 2007 t-shirt I was singing and dancing all night long I was in section 2 row D made a bee line in front of waddy too when we can go up.

so if you were in front of waddy during the edge walk say hi as well had a blast with a the group around me and the guy that took his shirt off and thru it up on stage with his sunglasses he was a trip. another cool and awesome concert glad i was up front with everyone too.

Peace,

ok ledgies, I noticed how it seems like everyone here but me had basically amazing seats to the show!!!
how do you guys get such good seats? seriously. the only time I get like...front 15 rows is if I do pre-orders...and I know that there was not a pre-order for this....

I would kill to have good seats the next time Stevie tours around here, and not have to pay like 300 dollars for one ticket on one of those 'ticket liquidator' sites....

so would anyone be willing to share thier secret for ticket buying with me?
cause i fear that if i wait too long the show will be sold out...and I would rather go and have 'eh' seats then not go at all....

:)

Hi Chris,
I got my tickets thru ticketmaster on day of sale i was surprised that i got section 2 row D came up after a few minutes being on there and also it was an isle seat to which was quick access to the stage which i did I never pay scalper price tickets i do have good luck with just keep checking on ticketmaster they hold seats too sometimes they do release good seats a week before or a few days before or even a few hours before show so its a hit or miss. I went by myself so i got one ticket and that is how i got mine and that was on a prayer because of the casino usually holds awesome seats to there high rollers or players club members but if those members don't use those free tickets in the system those tickets go and that is done day of the show. casino's seem harder to get good seats but just keep checking ticketmaster and have a positive mind while doing it don't get upset if u still don't get good seats you can go to those scalpers sites if you really want that ticket and have that money but to me as i say if its ment to be it will happen if not just take what seems good in front of you for the mean time so you do have a ticket to the show in case it is sold out and no tickets are released and just keep checking ticket master or venue site where u can order tickets and just keep trying you never know.

Peace,

Steve
