Just wondered if we were gonna get the set list?
|
I was just saying the same thing hahah
|
maybe the amish will send us a message via carrier pigeon
|
I was there in the 2nd row . . .
Stand Back
Enchanted If Anyone Falls Crash Sorcerer Rhiannon Dreams Gold Dust Woman Landslide In the Still of the Night Edge of Seventeen Rock 'n Roll (encore) Beauty and the Beast I think a few in the middle are out of order, but it was an unbelievably energetic show from Stevie. She was in top form and very happy to be back on tour - you could see the sparkle in her eyes! And . . . she introduced herself by saying that they are "back on tour again" and it was because they "didn't have sh*t to do" otherwise!!!! It was so funny to hear her curse tonight. Was anyone else there? They had no restrictions for video or camera and so many people were recording the whole time. I hope there is a good video out there from this show. |

Stevie Nicks radiant at Sovereign Center in Reading The former Fleetwood Mac singer presents an evening of well-packaged, if predictable rock and roll, but it held the crowd in thrall. By John Fidler Reading Eagle 4/19/2008 12:27:00 AM Reading, PA - The next time Stevie Nicks asks Vanessa Carlton to open for her, she’d better remind Carlton not to forget the lyrics to her songs. Especially when one of them is a tribute to Nicks. Blessedly, Carlton was on the Sovereign Center stage Friday night for just a half-hour. When Nicks arrived and launched into "Stand Back," the first-act gaffe was quickly forgotten, and a nearly full house sat back (or stood up and danced) for an evening of classic Nicks. In fact, the entire concert — radiant with what looked like a digitized Joshua Light Show from the old Fillmore East in New York, Nicks’ trusty seven-piece band led by guitarist Waddy Wachtel and lush, arching cascades of backing vocals — was itself a tribute to what we’ve been listening to for a generation. This was well-packaged, if predictable rock and roll, but it held the crowd in thrall from Nicks’ opening swirl (can anyone swirl like Stevie Nicks?) to the second encore, "Beauty and the Beast." Throughout, the soon-to-be 60-year-old singer was in utter command of her voice, even if she capped it in a comfortable mid-range early on so she could let it rip toward the end. And that’s just what she did in "Edge of Seventeen," from her multi-platinum album, "Bella Donna." Ricky Peterson’s soulful Hammond B3 joined drummer Jim Paxson and percussionist Lenny Castro in laying the foundation for Wachtel, who skulked and stalked about the stage, his Les Paul Gibson slung low over his shoulder. Wachtel’s fiery runs snaked around the pulsing undertow. And above the fracas was Nicks herself, aglow in the pulsing atmosphere, daring this tightly knit band to play better, louder: "And the music there ... it was hauntingly familiar ... and a melody ... nothing else mattered." A moment to send chills down the spine. In "Rhiannon," from Fleetwood Mac’s first album, the band’s down-tempo opening only added to the Pre-Raphaelite mystery of the woman who becomes the darkness. Wachtel pulled out the Fender for this one, his solo riffs pinging against Darrel Smith’s thundering grand piano, Al Ortiz’ bass and the frantic drummers. At stage left were the three backup singers, Sharon Celani, Lori Nicks and Jana Anderson, hips swaying gently to this seasoned and stylish ensemble, which by turns sped pell-mell through instrumental interludes and languished in moments of bewitching stillness crafted by Nicks herself, as if it were 1975 all over again. • Contact reviewer John Fidler at 610-371-5054 or [email protected]. |
I've noticed it big-time before I even read below and saw your comment. Age is realty folks. But she remains as beautiful as the day is long...

I just got back from the show...I am so tired but I just wanted to say that Stevie does NOT look old! She looks so young, and I can attest to that because my friend and I got to meet her after the show. Yes, our dream came true! We are still in shock! I will write about everything tomorrow, but I have a drive ahead of me to get home.
There is A LOT to write about so bare with me in taking the time to get it all down. I feel so bad for Vanessa...she is so talented but yet is sure to get a lot of bad reviews after tonight. Real quick so you get the truth, she came out and started with "Nolita Fairytale." Her voice sounded a little scattered, like she was nervous. She had trouble hitting some of the high notes. I had a bad feeling. Next thing you know, I think it was the 3rd or 4th song in, she was playing "My Best" (I think that's the title, excuse me if I'm wrong, I'm tired!!) and had dedicated to Stevie. She only got a few seconds into the song when some a$$ that was working the CD player hit play and it started playing John Mayer. From then on she was forgetting her lyrics and had to stop a few times. At one point she had her head in her hands. She kept her cool though and managed to finish nicely. She explained to us that Mayer is her ex boyfriend and it f*cked her up. THEN when she left the stage, they started playing the same song! I felt so bad for her, and I know Stevie is going to be giving someone an earful. Anyways, Vanessa was great. I would pay to see her again. Unfortunate what happened. I will post about our first row experience, the Edge walk, and meeting Stevie. I am still in dream. She's everything I expected and more. I GOT A HUG FROM STEVIE!!! AAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I have photos and videos...I just got a new computer and I need to figure out how to work everything so give me time! Jackie |

we had front row right by Al and Waddy. This was my 10th solo show and 14th time seeing Stevie perform and a great way to celebrate. I love being on Waddy's side, there is always so much fun going on over there. Jimmy gave me a stick and my girlfriend got Waddy's last pick. And Stevie used me as her "brace hand" during the Edge Walk, which was great!! (extra long hand contact is a plus! ha!) She sounded great, looked great, was very talkative (maybe more so than last summer even?) and put on a great show as always... The crow was pretty great, we didnt have to sit down one time! (Which is how its supposed to be guys!!!!) As for this summer's tour outlook. NO NEW MERCH, NO NEW ANYTHING! Had she changed up the set list a little I might consider going to both Borgata shows, but I would say if you saw the show once or more last summer and you are tight on the cash to spend on tickets (as I am!) then you really arent missing anything (except the experience is always priceless). I saw her 4 times last summer and spent a fortune and I really cant do that again this time if she doesnt switch it up (AND IT KILLS ME to say that!). But, as I said, the experience is always priceless and so worth it! a note about only 13 songs...she didnt come on til after 9pm, and I think there is a curfew of 11? I dont know for sure... Not like she would have played more songs though. I think, if anything were to change, Crash will get dropped after a few more shows and Fall From Grace or I Need to Know might go back in? Again, I dunno! |

I was hoping to possibly catch her in Toledo, but I'd rather not shell out the money for tickets and gas for a 2-hour drive just to hear all these same songs. |
The truth be told, this women is incredibly attractive for nearly sixty.
She was so energetic that a forgot hold old she really is. My boyfriend could not believe it when I explained she is turning 60 next month. She did a great show and everyone on stage had big smiles on their faces the entire time. I don't know what more people expect fron her after singing and touring for 40 years . . . |
oh! and Waddy was drinking (chugging) vodka (pretty sure Grey Goose) straight out of the bottle during his breaks on the side of the stage! that was a sight!
|
Great pics!!
Thanks Ashton for the photos, so many so great! I love it that Stevie turns 60 what a beautiful beauty:):angel::angel:

Perhaps more songs from her solo catalogue. My fantasy would be for her to two do songs from each solo album. For example at last nights show she couldda done two songs from Bella Donna: Kind of Woman and The Highwayman. At Mohegan two songs from The Wild Heart: Gate and Garden and Sable on Blond. Next show two songs from Rock A little: Sister Honey and If I Were You, and so on and so forth. Then when she covers all her records start again with Bella Donna and sing two more different songs from the record and so on and so on. Imagine us diehards then: we'd be spending all our savings to see many shows and also imagine the bootleg possibilities!! |

she wore the boots... and not the shorter heeled ones, the regular ones. |
Thats not too exciting to hear about the set list....it doesn't make me look forward to the show at DTE with what I spent for tickets either. Makes me sad too. I just don't understand WHY she can't play more songs from her own catalog. She has tons no excuses really...just sad. No new merchandise....thats sad too. I guess I won't have to really buy anything than. Not very creative on her part. Stevie could do so much but......I'm disappointed .......the setlist needs to change thats for sure........:confused:

Punky attitude? Well, this is what she feels is worthy to deliver to her fans. I see no reason to get excited anymore. I haven't see her on stage since 2004, one night of the SYW tour. Everyone posts the set lists here, I look at them, and go "meh." I'd rather remember her the way I want to remember her. More power to anyone who is seeing her for the first time and is enjoying it. |

This set list is just awful. |

Yes, I wear my dislike of Klonopin-era Stevie on my sleave, I'm afraid. But, I think 'Blue Denim' and MLWCYM don't count as Klonopin-era. I think that particularly scary rehab experience was past her by the time the SA tour was rolling through the US (in buses). The OSOTM shows did break in some new material, you're right. 'Alice' and 'Juliet' which might be nice to hear again with less tinkly arrangements. |

Thanks for the great review. I SO wish I was there with you guys. I love the statement you made above - it's so true. hugs, Danielle |

I was looking foward to buying something at Mohegan tomorow, but if there isn't anything at all I wont even bring money... and if there is, how much are t-shirts? That's probably what I would get, and you know I wouldnt even spend the money, but it is my first Stevie show and all :) on a side note, I really wish she would have changed a song or two. AKA R&R and probably Crash [I was gonna say Dreams, but I dont want death threats. lol] Seriously, why not TTM or even BD or MLWCYM!!?? The latter is one of my fave SN solo songs, and its like....ugh enough with the ledzep cover! But as long as her performance is good, what can we really complain about? some albums have poor song choice, but you dont see us complaining. |
The top ones might be the real thing. Of course, the ones at the bottom are complete imposters. Still, even the top ones seem off by maybe a half inch or so. Was the heel always that thick? Check out the cover of Bella Donna. The heel looks more slender. And higher. But, maybe Mardios Vartanian is no longer with us. Or, maybe the ones that propel Stevie to the highest altitudes are simply unwearable at her age.

I'll be seeing her tomorrow night and I have to admit that I'm kind of bummed that she is doing almost the EXACT same show as last year. However, last years tour was one the best performances I've seen of her and this will be my ninth tour I've gone to, so it can't be all that bad.
I would be willing to bet that there will be new tour stuff when the tour really kicks off in June. These first shows are kind of one off out there kind of things, I will be pissed however if she does change things up for the major leg of the tour!!!! |
