My shoulder tattoo hardly hurt at all. The one on my lower back hurt much more

JazmenFlowers 04-16-2008 03:57 PM

every time I see someone post a pic of their newest tattoo, it reminds me of the 3 that I still want...and then I realize why I haven't done it yet!

kathy1 04-16-2008 04:49 PM

that's great did you always want to get a stevie tattoo?

mylittledemon 04-16-2008 07:53 PM

Next time go to a woman artist...they are more gentle on the skin. Looks like he butchered you. I'm not trying to be rude...it's just that I've gotten over a dozen tattoos and this is what I've learned!

It's a bit red, but I think butchered is a pretty strong word to use.

Not in my experience with tattoo artists. I've been getting inked for 10 years now. Some of the guys just don't give a sh*t and you're the next quick dollar that walks in the door. Many artists don't take into account that some people scar more easily and they can run the needle too deep. Thats what it looked like happened to you. I was more dogging the artist than anything. Don't feel bad. I've been "butchered" too.

Sarah 04-18-2008 07:04 AM

I can't believe the words about to come out of my mouth: mylittledemon is right.

 (jk!)

some tattoo artists have a heavier hand than others, and they absolutely just drill you. it's like how different people write with different amounts of pressure on a pencil or pen. not a diss on your tattoo at all.. just an observation. looks like he got you pretty good.. especially around the eye.

GODDESS6 04-18-2008 07:06 AM

i too have been tattooed for 10years ~ maybe her skin just reddends easily like mine~ i have been done by men only (that sounds funny) & haven't been butchered, it's just super red for the 1st few hours, because of the way my skin is~

Yeah I mean, it's all subjective really. Some people think their tattoos look great, and the truth is that 85% of them look like complete ****e. It's sad really because the artists that are out there should be ashamed in their work. I mean if the art looks like ****, you wouldn't want someone going around saying "YEAH! I got this tattoo from so-and-so..." especially if it looks bad.

My wife's niece just got her first tattoo and it's heinous. I mean, it's puffy because the needle went to deep and the skin has scarred. The lines are awful, and the color didn't go well with her skin tone. I thought it looked like a child took a crayon to her skin. (if crayon would stick to your skin)...Of course Ashley asked my opinion, being that I'm covered with them, and I couldn't say anything. My face said it all really. I just kind of cringed.

very cool.

i went out on my eighteenth birthday for ink and came home with a ginormous dragon on my back. my mom wasn't as impressed as i'd hoped
many years later, i still love it and have still never figured out how to take a proper photograph of it.

i held out for eight more years and got myself a "present" for my birthday this year. and as soon as that $600 gov't rebate comes, i'm going to stimulate the economy with two new pieces (and an imported bottle of absinthe).

Well they're adorable. You're too young to remember this, but there used to a syndicated talk and radio show personality named 'Sally Jesse Raphael' who was known for her red glasses. Her glasses though were usually very, VERY red. Don't know if she's still on, or not. She was like a female version of Phil Donahue or a white version of Oprah, but then her show went completely tacky with 'Redneck Makeovers', 'Help, my daughter is a goth!' and paternity test types of shows and other craziness.

Haha... they still show Sallys show over here! It looks so dated now and her glasses are so huge!

petep9000 04-19-2008 07:24 PM

Here's Sally when she was younger- probably late 80's or so. She looks very different now, but then don't we all..
