Oh good Lord

Poor Anne Wilson! What happened to her??? I thought she had bariatric surgery and everything was going well? She looks heavier now than she ever did! And look at what stoopid Fergie is doing. Oh, what a shame that she went back to her old weight (and then some) because she was very conscious of it, and it was causing her to have panic attacks before concerts. I hope she isn't feeling that bad still and maybe is in a better place in her mind.

I guess stomach stapling is no miracle for everyone. Carnie Wilson also gaining back her weight (70 lbs, and counting).

Great butt shot!

p.s to my OP. I'm not ragging on Ann, I love her and her mighty voice, and the beautiful music she makes. I'm just concerned, as the photo was a bit of a shock- and the topic of her weight was a whole 15 minute or so segment of the Heart 'Behind the Music' special years ago. It clearly is an issue that makes her sad, and yet now she's back to where she was. And that can't make her too happy.

It's my understanding she had the LAP band surgery, rather than the gastric bypass. It's a much safer and less invasive procedure, but not as effective.

She is so talented and beautiful- I hope that she is well.

Didn't she have it removed? I think I remember hearing that somewhere.

On an unrelated note, Fergie made a wise choice with the leather pants. That way you can't see the wet spots.

I saw Heart in Orlando last year and they were amazing. She's still got the voice. I don't care that she's "big."

I've been saying for years that the best live double bill would be Heart opening up for Stevie. But now we have Boston opening for Stevie in Detroit and this too is a fantastic double bill. Too bad it couldn't be at every Stevie show. Vanessa is good but we've already had her.
Oh and by the way notice how Fergie is balancing on one arm and holding the mike with the other? Well that takes major strength. You shouln't be calling her stupid.

Being strong doesn't make one smart.

Major strength, yes. Major intelligence, to resort to circus tricks to upstage a respected woman twice her age and with 30 years experience, no.

I stand by what I said. She's fug, and stupid, and peed her pants on stage once. Fooey on Fergie.

I saw Heart a few years ago and she looked like she did in the above article. They say how she got the LAP band implanted...I guess she did take it out?

If she didn't take it out, it sure does look like it must be ready to snap from the added stress of too much Taco Bell! It really does distress me to see her like this, especially since she has clearly been trying to lose. The last I heard, several years ago, she was this big proponent of the lap band procedure, exercise, diet, etc., and she was almost to the point where she was just pleasantly plump rather than morbidly obese. So what could have changed? I know she didn't blow up like this from eating veggies, tofu and brown rice.

Maybe a slow metabolism. It's too bad they too ephedra off the shelves, that stuff used to just sear the excess weight off me- and I could work overtime for hours. Oh, well my BP was up to 160/100, but I looked great.

I bet you had so much energy, you were vacuuming at midnight!

My house was never so clean, as when I was on diet pills.

As for Fergie, was it a one-handed cartwheel, or was she walking on her hand?

petep9000 04-08-2008 10:57 AM

Not only that, I was painting and spackling at midnight.

GoldDustOrphan 04-08-2008 11:31 AM

Fergie covered Barracuda for the Shrek the 3rd soundtrack. I'll assume they were performing a duet here and poor, former Meth-addict Fergie misunderstood what actual "vocal gymnastics" were. Ann's laughing because she's thinking, "Flip lil girl, just keep flipping while the adults sing."

That a slow metabolism = morbid obesity is simply urban legend. It's very simple- burn more calories than you consume. And if your metabolism is "slow" due to a thyroid condition, then take medication to normalize it. Try building more muscle tissue vs. starving yourself. Eat most of your calories in the morning and don't eat at night. But most importantly, stop stuffing your piehole with Twinkies!! I think it's one thing to be politically correct and say that she should love and accept her beyond-Boticellian body image and deal with it. But this level of obesity is simply life-threatening, especially for someone of her age and activity level. I would call it for what it is: personal recklessness.

^ Agree about the diet & exercise thing (although it's really easy for people who have never struggled with weight to say "just eat less & move more - duh!") What I disagree with is exactly how big she actually is. The pic that Pete posted is not flattering at all, and while I'm not trying to deny that she's obese, that pic makes her look much larger than she is. She's pulling her head back, giving herself the dreaded double chin look & those oversized coats she wears don't help either. Did you guys see the whole performance? Her legs & hips aren't that big. She's large chested these days & has more weight on her shoulders & midsection. Of course, this means she's an "apple" & carries her weight on her top half, which as Hejira knows puts her at higher risk for heart problems, so that's what her main concern should be. I've seen them live within the last few years & for a large woman, that bitch can MOVE. She's getting a 90 minute workout every time they play live.
