Some screenshots from new DVD

**Don't look if you want to wait until Tuesday, Otherwise, there's only a FEW pics from the doc. here anyway.**

I was able to get the new DVD early through a friend and it's super cool. Love the whole concert and the CD is AWESOME. Anyway, there's a bonus documentary on there called "Not Too Late" and it's truly precious. I wanted to share a few screen shots that I just made - and just learned how to make. They're basically of him and his family...I think it brings out another side of Lindsey. So sweet.

Cool! That's what I'm most looking forward to actually, is the doc.!

Betsy 03-23-2008 06:34 PM

Me too!

Now, if Amazon would get cracking....

(I might not be able to wait...and might have to head to Denver after work on Tuesday.)

Is the NOT TOO LATE Documentary on the CD or on the DVD?
(Weird Al hides them on the CD.)

Oh, and before I forget....

Thanks for the pic's Nico.... "You're a pal!"

Stew_Matthews 03-23-2008 06:35 PM

Thanks for posting - those are wonderful shots of Lindsey and his family. I love the second and third shots with his kids in the studio - priceless!

I can't wait for Tuesday. I have the DVD ordered and the house will be empty all morning so I can play it in peace.

But thanks for the pics:).

michelej1 03-23-2008 06:49 PM

Those are incredible. Ha! Lindsey is outnumbered by girls at home! That's what he gets. Very beautiful. Thanks so much for the sneak preview.

Michele

I cant wait, oh i'm soo exited

wondergirl9847 03-23-2008 10:30 PM

Thank you Nico!! I'm so excited to see that documentary!! I have my DVD pre-ordered from Amazon.

The 6th pic down is GORGEOUS. Look at those eyes!!

Also, both Lindsey and Lee Lee's face in the first one...priceless. :)

suzyvermoesen 03-24-2008 06:32 AM

Thanks Nico ; those are great !
And in that 1st picture you can really see that Leelee takes after her mother.

Josh2003 03-24-2008 06:37 AM

Man...Will has his dad's eyes.

danax6 03-24-2008 07:44 AM

Aww, that's precious. I can't wait for my dvd.

sasja 03-24-2008 11:39 AM

Oh awe... i'll probably never see the dvd but those pictures are too precious :D I am so happy for Lindsey and his wife and children. Happiness and good health is worth everything in the world, and looks like that Fam has it!

Well done Lindsey!

Livia 03-24-2008 01:09 PM

Will looks right at home sitting at that board, tweaking knobs. Scary. In a good way. :p

Okay, now I'm more excited after seeing these pics. I was kinda underwhelmed, thinking we'd be getting nothing more than another Soundstage.

Lori40 03-24-2008 01:14 PM

Thanks for the pictures, Nico. As with most things Lindsey, it appears as though it's taken him a while to get his video out. Looking at the pictures of his kids (in his old house) I would venture to guess that the video is at least two or three years old, but I'm happy that he's sharing with his fans.

I thought the same. The whole kids-in-studio segment is one of the best moments on that DVD. That and Stella on the phone.

Adorable. Since he's on the phone too, I assume she's talking to him on the phone.

Josh, that one photo with the eyes looks to me like Lee Lee with her hair pulled back, rather than Will.

John Stewart said Lindsey told him all he did was fiddle with the knobs until he liked the way it sounded. No real scientific method, so I think Will's on the right track:laugh:.

Well, actually Lindsey is having some album label-related discussion on the phone with his "people" I assume, but I placed it in there because it was also a pretty interesting/funny part, and it went well with the Stella thing- which is beyond cute. I won't say any more.

The pic with the eyes is actually Will (with his hair brushed back). In the documentary there's a "Lindsey flashback" montage of childhood pics with an almost identical picture of Lindsey as a boy.

Perhaps tomorrow I'll post a few more cute ones...

tuigirl 03-25-2008 12:55 AM

Really nice pictures  Watch out (10 yr olds) girls...I can see quite a few going for Wills magnetic eyes!

Wow, I have never seen Will's face like that. Obviously I'm not the most objective person in the world, but they are amazing looking children. And it's not like good looking parents always produce beautiful children, because they don't.

Michele

#1LiddyBuckFan 03-25-2008 01:17 PM

They have created some beautiful babies together! Wow!!

I love that they are showing him with his family on the behind the scenes stuff...his eyes light up when he talks about them so it will be great to see them together.

Nico 03-25-2008 02:24 PM

I totally agree about the children being gorgeous. And they're precious as well...in particular I find Leelee's personality from the video quite entrancing, with the little bossiness and the singing and the "jamming" to the music. She's SO cute! And what an absolute doll as well...

I just finished watching the documentary. I am just glad to have the Shut Us Down video on DVD.

These lines are, I believe, Fleetwood Mac's motto, no?

Will: Since I'm dad, I control the studio.

Lee Lee: And since I'm mom, I control the kitty.

Betsy 03-25-2008 09:20 PM

I loved the photos Nico posted... (3 cheers for Nico, Hip Hip Hooray!)

That being said, I haven't seen the video yet, but I like being able to see another side of Mr. B. It makes him more human and less God-like...

In short, he's almost one of us.

SPOILER TALK

Not to be specific, but I was just watching the phone call scenes on the DVD and he's too much one of us. I was nervous for Fleetwood Mac when they were talking to the record execs in Destiny Rules, but now I'm practically sorrowful.

I HATE having Lindsey's feelings hurt. I feel torn up inside. And I have to say that I never paid too much attention to the Cast Away Dreams video before, but the way it was positioned in the documentary just broke my heart. The placement was so poignant and the pictures used before (the pic of a young Lindsey on the water), used again in that song at that point in the documentary, symbolized something new -- not cast away dreams -- but lost dreams, inaccessible dreams.

You're welcome!;) I'm truly happy to share them. I'm agreeing with you all about Lindsey being as human as the rest of us. His reactions on the phone make that poignantly clear, as well as the little clips of him and his wife towards the end after he decided to "settle" for an offer that perhaps wasn't what he had envisioned. It almost looks like consolation coming from her and acceptance coming from him. And it's very sweet/loving.

What I also like is Will asking if those are the lights from Dodger Stadium he sees from the balcony and wondering if it's baseball season. Lindsey says it isn't, speaking hesitantly. It's as if he's acknowledging the change of the seasons and the fact that he himself is no longer a boy of summer.

Of course, the cynical side of me is talking to the tv: "Will, have you seen the pictures of your Dad in mascara? Son, he wouldn't know if it's baseball season or not."

That is such an interesting interpretation. I never thought of it that way. Any more insights you care to share? I like them.

Well, I'm all out, but I was struck at the beginning when he said his father would have gently removed him from all the craziness. He was trying to be poetic and take us through him being a son to being a father, in one sentence. So, I didn't take the comment literally. But it did make me wonder what his parents were saying to him in the early days. Stevie loves to talk about how her dad gave her an ultimatum about going back to school.

What was Lindsey hearing from the Buckinghams? Or was his father's failing health so consuming their thoughts that they didn't give LB too many lectures about needing to give up an obsession with music that might have no future? Of course, back then, early 70s, the real craziness and single-minded drive had not yet even begun for Lindsey.

Still, when you have a son who has no degree, is 25, fighting with his girlfriend constantly, barely making ends meet and just might be a raging pothead, you do start to worry!

I so agree about the CAD video.....it was so touching and meaningful. I think the whole documentary was great and filled with symbolism and interesting touches. I loved how often he focused on the photo of FM, with LB, John and Mick.
The beginning "poem" was amazing, too.

The kids are just precious and Leelee has the most adorable, commanding personality. She is definately larger than life. Stella is a doll, too.

Gazza 03-26-2008 08:57 AM

That was beginning to drive me crazy. But you know I remember Mick unrolling that picture in one of the promos for Destiny Rules , so the guys could hang it up in the stuido and it was very meaningful. As the documentary closed, Lindsey used pictures of his parents, his brothers, his children and the photo of Fritz where Lindsey is to the side and Stevie is sitting at the table with a red dress (a picture also used in Show You How). Made me very thoughtful.

I wish I could have seen more recent footage of Stella now that she is older. In that Joyce Ostin photo she just looked like she had quite a personality and I wonder if it's true.

I'd like to make fun of my guy here. I first noticed his pet in the Town and Country spread, but then John drove the point home in his Q & A when he said that Lindsey had a big poodle! I thought, "Wow, how emasculating."

Now, I don't want all you men out there who are proud, macho owners of giant poodles to send me hate mail. I'm just saying . . .

So, then I joked about it at the time with Matt and this other guy (who I don't see around anymore with the screen name LBsFingertips) and they told me that the dog wasn't that effeminate and it probably belonged to Kristen anyway.

Well, in the documentary, they focused on a family photo. Where they are all on a hammock. Kristen is minding her own business at one end of the hammock and Lindsey is at the other end, one arm around Will and the other clutching the big poodle. Clearly, that is his dog. Kristen probably wanted something respectable like a rottweiler, German Shepherd or a bull mastive, but no . . . Lindsey had to have a BIG poodle.

Ever read Travels With Charley by John Steinbeck?

Synopsis: Giant poodle takes roadtrip with Dad aka Steinbeck.

Good book and great read. Maybe Mr. B. (being a literary type) got the poodle in his honor.

But you're mistaken because Lindsey's wife is a cold beyotch who Lindsey hates being with and every photo of them shows he's clearly uncomfortable around her.[/sarcasm]

I loved seeing Kristen, the kids and their interactions. Stella was too cute on the phone!

BTW, could someone rip that acoustic version of Castaway Dreams because OMG, it was fan-friggin-tastic!! I would love you forever and a day. :)

Nico 03-26-2008 10:09 PM

^ So true, Christy! I LOVED that acoustic version of CAD. I watched it again today and it was very poignant and seemed to be placed well in that portion of the documentary.

I think Lindsey and his wife are adorable together now. I always thought she was lovely, but I'll admit I thought they seemed to look quite uncomfortable around one another in public settings. However, in this DVD where he's chasing her up the stairs and she's constantly smiling/staring at him so lovingly- plus the sweet cuddling embrace at the end- it's just very, very touching and I think they look like a wonderful couple...with beautiful children. Good for them.

I think Lindsey is just more comfortable either A. at home with wife/kids or B. on stage. Most fan photos have him as a deer-in-the-headlights. LMAO!!

I agree! And the fan photos? Some of them are hysterical only because he looks like he's been caught stealing or something. He just has the funniest expressions in some of them. I don't think he's too natural in front of cameras unless he's got a guitar, or he's in a environment where he feels "at home" so to speak. A lot of people are like that. And perhaps his wife may be the same way.

wondergirl9847 03-26-2008 10:36 PM

Thank you for the screencaps. Very sweet. :)

LMAO at the been-caught-stealing analogy! It's TRUE!

For people with allergies to cats and dogs, poodles are often the only pet they can be around. I don't know if Lindsey has allergies, but recall when Stevie and Lindsey were together they also had a poodle. Anyone know?
