It's funny you put that one on because I was going to put it on my list, too -- that or "Morocco." You're reading my mind! I decided not to put that one on my list because I didn't want to knock anything else off, & I hate it when people ask for TEN & some bozo gives them ELEVEN.

Easily one of the better films of this age. Disturbing as hel though.

I have too many to list, but some are Sunset Blvd., Gone With the Wind, Cavalcade, all of the fairly recent Jane Austin flicks, Age of Innocence (just beautiful) and so on.

Miss Vicky 03-15-2008 02:25 PM

Okay, I'm about to show my youth and shallowness here...

Top Ten (for the moment):

8. The Departed (2006, R)

Pretty good!

"Madame de ..." is one of my favorite movies. If we had done a Top 20, I'd stick that on there somewhere.

Also, I have been to the Grass Valley house of Lola Montez. It's on Mill Street in downtown Grass Valley. It's a museum & worth seeing!

Max's son Marcel created one of the great documentaries of our time -- The Sorrow & the Pity. Romy admires that film, too. Where is Romy?

bucklind17 03-15-2008 08:21 PM

Overall, and based on enjoyment level as much as quality and clearly I am no film buff:

1. GoodFellas
2. Field of Dreams
3. Apollo 13
4. Ocean's Eleven (remake)
5. Independence Day
6. The Myth of Fingerprints
7. Empire Records

Wise words, I agree, but I also think that one likes a movie according the moment and the age. That's why I included Grease or Titanic. MAybe today I have other favorites, but I tried to list the movies that I wanted to see lot of times at that moment, plus the movies I will always love, like Priscilla or Moonstruck.
