Considering the era, this show is incredible. A member of Seven Wonders re-edited the show, so the sound quality is INCREDIBLE. Great show!

baboles 03-06-2008 11:16 PM

Wow! Thanks! Her voice is pretty good during this show!

Brad 03-07-2008 09:50 AM

Ah, this was my first Stevie show at a mere 9 years old. I still remember being there, the never-ending repeats of songs for the tapings, and the shirt I got. Good times.

Brad

You have to remember they re-dubbed the actual vocals for the radio broadcast. I have the audience recording from this show and she sounds terrible. Nonetheless, this bootleg is really great!

Ughhh! I hate that she had to do the vocals over for radio broadcast.

Well she was seriously drugged up. The OSOTM tour got better as she went along. The European shows were ALL really great performances. I have every show of her tour overseas and they are all excellent!

Thank you so much for posting this. I am so excited. I went to US from UK to see this show, it was really fantasic, and at that time when there was no internet finding out about shows in the US from the UK was not easy. Thank you so much.:blob2:

Me too, it doesn´t work for me too.

TheWILDheart 03-08-2008 11:39 AM

this show is AMAZING!! I love Stand Back and WLT especially.

petep9000 03-08-2008 12:25 PM

WLT is one of the worst atrocities ever committed in Modern Times. May it never appear in a Stevie set ever again.

I laughed on CV when Stevie said she thought it sounded good and she might put it back in the setlist. You know, it's not my favorite song, but because it is her song, I'd much rather have it in the setlist than a cover. Michele

The only thing that bothers me is Bobby Martin's wail towards the end of the song. :distress: Otherwise, don't mind it, along with Two Kinds of Live, which infact, is probably my favorite song in the set.

I also love BATB, when stevie sings: And sometimes, she says...AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..."

It really is somethig special. More atmosphere with it live. Just beautiful. Alice is one of my top favorite songs of hers, so this is really cool.

Mine too, obviously, but not the record version...just the live one.

ashton 03-10-2008 06:19 PM

The sound on that is really good. Was it re-issued on CD? I have it on vinyl, but didn't realize it was available on CD.

When I see pictures of you I think how cool that this really young, cute college age guy is into the live version of Alice! Such an obscure track for Stevie, yet this was the song you chose as your favorite.

Haha thanks, yes I get a lot of flac for it, but to each his own. But Gypsy is my all time favorite Stevie or FM. Alice comes in second. ;)

Oh yeah. Theres a version of her doing it live on Youtube, which is also really good from San Jose CA. My all time favorite live version is from Rotterdam, Holland 1989. Its just epic. I also have a DVD from London on the OSOTM tour and its a great version too! I think its all the synth and keyboard work that get me on the live version. I totally dig it.

IAWTC. me too.

ricohv 03-17-2008 08:56 AM

Hey AliceLover,
I was wondering if you could post that Rotterdam show? I had it a long time agobut have lost it somehow. Thanks in advance if you can. Rooms on Fire had a great sort of Greek sounding, mandolin (ish) intro that was cool.
Interesting that to many OSOTM was her lowpoint, but it was her biggest hit in Europe and produced her only top 10 hit in Europe w/ Rooms on Fire.
Ricoh

kathy1 03-17-2008 09:21 AM

do you have the show from atlantic city? i know she did a show there during this tour.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. The radio stations got the vinyl for broadcast, but the only CD transfers were bootlegs, I believe. Livespace, for example, was someone's bootleg of the 1991 Whiskey radio broadcast plus four or five tracks from Houston 1989 (which had great sound quality, by the way).

WizNicks 03-17-2008 11:43 AM

I am hoping for my wife to buy me this one:
http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=367413
http://991.com/newGallery/Stevie-Nic...ert-367413.jpg
A pre-FM recording on original vinyl of this show. But with my luck, either she wont buy it or someone else buys it before her, because I posted this link.
If scenario #2 happens, please rip it and upload it! :wavey:

Yep, that's the vinyl Ashton & I were referring to. I looked at the cost on that link of yours -- $151 -- & felt the pain keenly. I had a copy of this & just dumped it. I have no interest in Stevie in this era, although I do have an interest in money, but I figured I wouldn't be able to recoup even the cost of shipping it somewhere, & I didn't want to bother going in to a Post Office, either.

It may be time to get back to eBay selling again, especially with those nifty "rebate" checks going out soon.

They have a copy of this at a little record shop in Keene, NH where my college is. Maybe I should snag it?

The secondary market (the market for collectibles) is like that, Jimmy. Sellers charge a variety of prices for the same item, depending on shape, region, time of year, etc. A Northwood Grape & Cable carnival glass water set might auction for $350 in one area & $650 in another area.

Seriously, buy it for 8 and if it is in good condition I pay you $50 for it (still way cheaper than on that site)!

I'm lucky to have stumbled on that 3 record set years ago at a record show. I think I paid no more than $25 for it.

Really, do you know why there are 3LPs for an 80 minutes show? Does it have one disc full of radio ads?

I have that set. Pu it safely away in a closet somehwere in my house. Cannot remember where I bought it...I think at some times in the 90's trhu Wynnco (remember those crooks) o Espirit Mail Order..the soundquality is great and I like the American commercials...

On topic: After 5 times trying, my laptop is finally downloading the file...hopefully my Ipod still has some space left :-)
