It's Friday... join me for a drink...

I'm enjoying a nice shiraz. After the week I've had I think I deserve it!

Great news, Arlene!!!

~ sigh ~ It has been an insane week for me and I am much deserving of a serious cocktail. Let's see . . . I guess I'll stick to the usual: A very large glass of merlot. Chilled, of course.

!!Hey, Pip!!

I assume that isn't a ledgie:shrug: but Mike:laugh:

Good luck with that - I guess he'll have arm fulls of presents for the kids:rolleyes:!

I have to pick up our two from school shortly and take them down to their fathers. So I'll be doing a bit of the 'happy' families thing! He's only having them for one night cos he has 'more important' things to do Saturday.

Hey we're English - we rise above this sort of bollocks!

I do love the word bollocks... hehe. Yeah Mike... presents for the kids?? Excuse me while I puke  He actually sent me a message on skype the other day (I deleted him from my contacts) to let me know he is home Monday. Didn't even ask me how the kids were

Are you doing anything with your child free night?

YES I have plans!! - so we will only be out a couple of hours:laugh:.

No - we're out for dinner at an Italian place in the city that we like with some other people. It will be cool.

I SOOO love that word bollocks as well! Every time I hear John use it, I swear I crack up for like 30 minutes afterwards.. I've also grown to LOVE the show "Ramsey's Kitchen" on the BBC every Thursday night, and that word gets used more than anything.. well.. maybe other than the "f" bomb.. ROTFL

We've had this discussion here before but we (Brits) have a few swear words like bollocks that are quite inoffensive really....but the Americans I work with go straight to using the f word. It takes a bit of getting used to........

See.. to me bollocks is HILARIOUS.. I don't know why it just comes across as funny to me.. but it IS much better then the "f" bomb for sure, and you are right.. To me, that doesn't sound offensive at all.. I need to try using that word, verses the other at work, and see what the consesus would be.. Now, keep in mind, this is in Texas.. ROTFL:laugh:

ROTFL.. Pip.. you are a mess.. but I guess in your case, I would probably use "wanker" for sure! I don't even think Mike would be considered a "bugger".. that just seems too nice for that one.. :(

I went out with some friends last night, and as always I was the designated driver as I drink very little alcohol ever. I actually did have a Malibu Pineapple with Midori last night, but that's it. My friends though, thats a different story. Oh well, we all made it home safely and thats what matters.

That sounds exotic - the sort of thing Strandinthewind would drink. I've had two alcoholic drinks since October. I don't drink much anyway but my g/f's two brothers got me stinking drunk on Whisky. I was in bed for two days thinking I would die - so the smell of alcohol just makes me feel sick now.

I don't remember the last time I drank to the point of being ill. Despite starting these threads I really don't drink that much alcohol.

Pip - you gotta take the pledge:laugh:.

Everyone is in the Rumours thread arguing about the (limited) merits of Sheryl joining the band.

Is Mike on English soil?

Do we know for certain she's joining? Or just touring with them? I'll meander over to that forum in a sec.

And yes... he returned to the UK on Monday. Apparently his latest spawn is due in July. He is supposed to break the news to the kids over the weekend... I await the fallout...

No we are working ourselves into hysteria over something that may or may not happen!

Had she been joining the E Street Band, I would have been rioting in the streets of Chicago:) but it isn't clear.

Good luck with the 'news'. Will this arrival be the excuse the pay less maintenance?
