GoldDustOrphan, your sig
GoldDustOrphan, your sig just inspired an entry in my livejournal. I thought I'd post it here. Which shows how much of a hypocrite I am for bitching at Will Farrell for his off-color Stevie joke. I'm so ashamed...
"Sorry, Stevie" I'm so ashamed to admit this, but as much as Stevie Nicks is my idol, my inspiration, and one of the most important people in my life, I used to totally make fun of her. But only in the way that good friends pick on each other knowing full well that it's not meant in harm. So, in the 90's when she had gained a few pounds (like 30) my friends and I would make comments at her concerts every time she'd disappear for a costume change (which was, like, every other song). It went something like this... Rooms on Fire extended intro... "Oh, there she goes. The wings have arrived" Alice extended intro... "Miss Nicks, your pizza has arrived" Stand Back drum solo... "Hmmm, she must have some Pop Tarts in the toaster" Smoke fills the stage for super long intro of Edge of Seventeen... "Oh man, Stevie burned the Pop Tarts... um... what, did she have to go to the store for more? Maybe she got some nachos at the concession stand" And so on. So when I was perusing my favorite Stevie message board tonight and I saw this photo in one of the other members' signature I just about fell out. This makes me want to look up the college friends I used to go to her shows with just to send them this. Thanks GoldDustOrphan. You totally made my night with your sig. :) |

GoldDustOrphan, you are killing me! How nice to start the day with a great big smile on my face!
Looks like Stevie is visiting the "Taco Tiki Hut" from the new B-52's song, Funplex. |
omg, this stuff is hysterical!!!~
|
Yes, Stevie did perform at the Taco Tiki Hut. After the show, she ordered a 7-Up and then went shopping all hopped up on a diet pill.

^^^i just spit my lunch out laughing!!!!~ can i use the 1st one in my sig?:o~

You are more than welcome to use anything you want. I think Big Trouble in Shangri-La needs a sequel. Funny how all of her ballet shots are easily turned into kung-fu action poses...
|
sweet!!!~

In every performance I do as Stevie I always allude to her coke habit. It never fails to make the audience laugh. |
Holy sh*t! ALL of these are funny!!! Keep them coming please!

According to another recently-unearthed TV Guide, CBS studio chiefs were so pleased Big Trouble in Shangri-La's ratings that they immediately greenlit several follow-up telepics for Stevie. During the mid-to-late '70s, Stevie starred in a steady stream of notable Movies-of-the-Week as well as a fistfull of brash, grindhouse-style films that exploited her action-gal persona. Years later, Sigourney Weaver, Linda Hamilton and Jamie Lee Curtis all claimed to have taken their cues from Stevie's raw, gritty performances as Gypsy "Knuckle" Lee in "Standing in a Line...of FIRE!" or heavy metal-rocking crime-solver Roberta Flacksabbath in "Dare My Wild Heart.... of Darkness!"
I'm sure I'll dig up the original TV Guide advertisements. Someone must be archiving these important cultural moments. They must, right? |

I second that: Absolutely brilliant. That is so funny, I don't know where to begin. Stevie has the power! If anyone could bring a monster back from the dead, it would be Stevie. I like the fact that you chose Young Frankenstein for the pic.
BY THE POWER OF STEVIE ..... oh sorry, that was Grayskull ;) We need an animated Stevie television series like She-ra: Princess of Power. :D Okay, my mind is going off in weird directions. |
