What Stevie or Mac song would you like played at your funeral?

I want "Songbird", and "The Second Time". They are lovely to hear and I think that they would be worth while. Also "Goodbye Baby" then we will close my funeral with a happy song like "Don't Stop". I want everyone to be happy that I have gone to a better place and to just party afterwards. yeah, they can still cry and miss me, but if I were there I would tell them to have a good time. Silly isn't it?:]

For some reason, "Crystal" comes to mind. I think that song (both the Mac and BN versions) is so pretty and peaceful.

I Need To Know from the "In Concert" video. Followed by The Ledge.

They'd never see it coming!

Maybe Madonna's "Like a Virgin" or anything by Britney Spears.
Because I figure by the time Stevie ever decides to record a song like that, I know I will have had a very loooong, full life.

'Don't Worry Kyoko (Mommy's only looking for her hand in the snow)' by Yoko Ono. You can't go wrong with some Ono, to clear the room. And I don't want people dawdling and crying over my urn.

Oh, but you said Stevie or FM. Hmm, maybe 'Crystal'- the White Album version.

Sugar Daddy
Sands of Time
The Nightmare

"Touched by an Angel"

I want people to bawl.

"Kick It" just says it all.

Gah, that was our wedding song! :)

'Don't Worry Kyoko'? Or, 'Crystal'? If it was the Yoko Oh No! song, you're aces in my book.

I guess I am kind of cheating....how about a relative of FM or SN?

DW Suite (I think it's on the Go Insane album but it has a nice phrase about "Pray for guidance from above"... I liked that part and the Irish march at the end. It sounds like a funeral wake.)

I want a stevie themed casket and Has Anyone to play...

ps-at my 23 year old friends service who OD'd on meth in the fall, they played beautiful child, and it was gorgeous.

JbbyStew86 02-29-2008 02:07 AM

Landslide, hands down, with no equal!

petep9000 02-29-2008 09:50 AM

I think I'm going to have to write it all down as instructions for my loved ones. If I die quickly and tragically (being stung to death by a swarm of Amazon bees, a house from Kansas landing on top of me during a cyclone, etc) then I think the choice of music would be different versus if I died a long, prolonged illness or if I died of a broken heart.

How sad. Beautiful Child is one of my most favorite songs of all time and would perhaps be my 2nd choice. It must have been a very touching service for your friend.

golddustwoman77 02-29-2008 01:02 PM

I want Stevie's "God's Garden" and the Mac's "Songbird."

baboles 02-29-2008 03:53 PM

I think I would like "Sleeping Angel" to be played at mine.

I like that too. Very fitting. I am pretty sure that is my favorite Lindsey Buckingham song of all time.

Tango 02-29-2008 06:15 PM

Edge Of Seventeen. Probably the Austrailian version on the Crystal Visions release. The music is amazing, Stevie's voice is strong, and it's a great send off, I think. "Somewhere deep in the middle of the night I still think about you." Who could ask for anything more?

David 02-29-2008 10:37 PM

You guys are morbid, but these are some excellent choices! :wavey:  :sorry:

vivfox 03-01-2008 12:52 AM

Gold Dust Woman. And everyone must be silent while it's playing and no one is allowed to say a word until the song comes to the very last note.

StreetAngel86 03-02-2008 01:14 AM

ooh so many choices
i love whoever suggested the Aussie version of Edge
PHWWWWWWWWWWR that would kick it!

im going to have to say
as mourners are beginning to gather
Sweet Girl live from The Dance
followed by a multitude of live versions of Rhiannon
when my body is being cremated.......Street Angel is gonna be playing loud and proud. and all throughout the memorial service and the scattering of my ashes.... Doing the Best I Can

at the wake, Edge
some more Street Angel, Blue Denim, Mirror Mirror and it's going to end with Rock & Roll

belladonnadream 03-09-2008 01:43 PM

Probably ~Landslide~ Storms~ or Beautiful Child

suzyvermoesen 03-09-2008 02:35 PM

Funny that this thread got started. I told my husband to play the UTS-tour live version of "Save me a place" at my funeral. I only hope he can find it among my many boots

I Would Say Songbird For Me

crtrofthenight 03-10-2008 10:00 AM

The piano intro to Rhiannon on repeat while a screen behind the casket shows the images of Sulamith Wulfing and the dolls while it's playing. Throw Landslide, If you Ever Did Believe, Joan of Arc and Crystal and you have the perfect send off. Dreams with a lot of reverb at the Funeral. That was the 1st song I really fell in love with.
