Just because it's pretty, and I'm bored.

hi sanne2 i love the photos. i have never seen them before. where did you find them? is there any more from this photo shoot?

jannieC 02-24-2008 10:13 AM

These are great- I love Wild Heart Stevie.

The shirt she's wearing seems like such an odd choice until you remember the era. I had a shirt just like that. LOL It amuses me that even Stevie fell prey to the fashion disasters of the 80s.

petep9000 02-24-2008 10:21 AM

My sister Robin also had the striped 80's duds too. In Stevie's case, it didn't mix and match successfully with that reddish dramatic cloak. Come to think of it, was this cloak seen before in any shots? Or on stage? It's nice.

I believe it's her house, but no idea who the photog is.

See that doll on the table in front of her with the white furry cat shaped head? It has a sword attached to its side. Pretty cool huh?

Fabulous. Thanks for posting! :xoxo:

These pictures make me laugh! I wonder what the photographer was telling her to do. Seems like very odd stage direction.

"Ok Stevie, now put your hands in the air and wave em like you just dont care!"

Do you know if these were shot on regular film? This is the shoot that was used for the 3D postcards, right? I've never seen one of the postcards, so I've never understood the 3D aspect of them. As in real 3D, or just one of those plastic fake 3D filters they place over pics in comic books and cereal box prizes...

The background in a couple of the pics (especially this one) looks like the fake filter was used - just wondering.

She looks great but the outfits, composition, sets, angles all look terrible. These could not have been seriously considered for publication.

Maybe they were testing lighting, or poses. They look like polaroids to me.

I have 2 pictures of the 3D cards, but the 3D effect is completely lost in these.

Not all of the pictures from the photoshoot were used for the cards, only like 4 or maybe 6. Maybe someone heres one of these and can make a better picture or explain what's so great about them?

I'm still curious about the photographer ( I guess he's credited on the cards?) this is so different from her other photoshoots and the photographers she worked with.

Shame on me, in the most un-politically correct way, to admire those large beautiful (real?) elephant tusks. I'm sure there poor elephant didn't grow to old age tusk-less in the African plains. I once visited Theodore Roosevelt's summer White House on Long Island, and he likewise had a huge pair of tusks and other antler type thingies. In the context of the period, it made him seem quite the adventurer. Now, it just looks like senseless killing and exploitation. But they are striking, and beautiful.

I agree. Weird that they should surface when she seems so in control of her image.

Hey Sanne,

Thanks SO much for sharing these awesome pics! I'm wondering if Herbie was the photographer then, as that seems to be the time he took a LOT of her pictures. I can't tell if it's her house or not..sorry..

JazmenFlowers 02-26-2008 05:18 PM

these are the only pictures from the whole shoot that I can stomach.

belladonnadream 03-09-2008 11:29 PM

I love Stevie during this time~ I've seen a few of these but not all of them~ Thank you so much for sharing them all~ I think this is one of the only times I've ever seen Stevie in stripes!

I don't mind these pictures from this photo shoot....I think there really different for Stevie....Thanks for sharing the 3-d cards...I'm lucky enough to have one of them....the black one pictured...still seeking the 2nd one....the more rarer one that is...since it was only given to those at the Benefit concert...I know/recall others were sold on ebay that I guess were 'test' 3-d cards probably to see which one (photo that is) that they wanted to use for the original set to sell. I like the 3-d effect thought you really can't see it on the computer screen. There is no filter in front of the cards...the red card has a simiulated auto of Stevie's on the back...or at least its suppose too. Thanks for sharing them....I wish she'd done 3-d cards for BD/RAL/Mirror etc....it would've been cool....just think of all the wonderful pictures that could've been done in that form...like the ATGFades PS or the back of the BD cover...or the front cover to the WH etc....its endless...but I guess they were too expensive?? I wonder what the expenise was? Anyone have any idea.....not sure who the photographer was? I don't think its Herbie but not really sure........:D
