pics/vid from my OUToberfest show

since the thread I started appears to have been a casualty of the recent technical difficulties, I'll start a new one.

the show was a lot of fun, but the sound was another story. the problem was that the sound coming out of the monitors was just my voice, no reverb and with an echo. so, I couldn't hear the music really...it just sounded like I was shouting at myself. somehow, we pulled it together and forged on...not after screwing up the first verse of Stand Back though.

there were probably 50-60 people there. for the size of the park, that's a lot.

I don't really have pro-shot DVDs to sell. the only website I have is my myspace (www.myspace.com/jazmenflowers).

You totally rock. You're better than the original artist at this point. You're fiery.

DavidMn 10-15-2007 12:36 PM

Very well done! But I wouldnt expect anything less from you! a true perfessional!

rubytuesday 10-15-2007 12:50 PM

That was great. I didn't know you did this sort of thing.

Loved it Jaz! Great job. Especially loved how you used the Live in Boston version, that one just totally rocks!

I figured you would. I did Stand Back just for you!

thanks everyone for the support.

you looked & sounded wonderful...BRAVO!!!~

amber 10-15-2007 07:43 PM

That was really good, Jazzmuff. :woohoo: I was tripping out when it first started because you sounded more like Stevie than usual, then I heard there was a vocal backing track and I thought maybe that was why.
I like how people cheered when you were twirling, too. That was a lot of cheering at the end, too, sounded like more than 60 people. Ah, the gays and their Stevie...:p

JazmenFlowers 10-19-2007 02:58 PM

^^^
thanks Amber.

I was so happy with how the twirling came out too. I was worried my heel would get stuck in one of the boards (the stage was wood planks with gaps in between...like, who designed that?!).

Denny said it looks like I'm performing from inside a watermelon!

and just to clear up a few questions I've received:

1) yes, I made that shawl/cape/coat. it's fairly basic and simple and anyone that wants tips or has further questions can PM me.

2) my boots are boots I bought offline at Hussy Store. if you need the direct link, PM me.

3) I use random makeup for stage. if you want a lineup of what I do, let me know.

4) yes, my legs are that skinny. (I've never had fat legs. in fact, my legs have always been the most "fit" part. :) )

5) my dress is from a dancewear company.

6) I don't remember where my wig came from.

7) my necklace is something someone very special to me had made for me when I was in college. it's a one of a kind likeness of Stevie's moon necklace that I've had for about 7 years. it's not identical to Stevie's, but it's very special to me. I decided not to wear my pyramid necklace because the chain gets caught in my hair too bad.

8) yes, I was really hot. in fact, I started to sweat near the end.

9) I almost forgot. the bracelets that I'm wearing are identical glittery strappy bracelets that I got at Gadzooks a million years ago. like, bracelets with glitter glued to them. they look phenomenal on stage, but didn't show up in the pictures quite right.

kthxbye.

Great job, Jazzy with the songs!! Love the outfit - perfect!!

Steviefan49 10-23-2007 10:42 AM

You look GREAT Jaz! Good job!! :wavey:

Very nice performance and very entertaining. I marvel at how you caught Stevie's mannerisms. The twirling? In those boots? Seven complete twirls? (I would have been on my ass after 1/2 of one!!)

Cool performance!

JazmenFlowers 10-23-2007 12:11 PM

thanks guys! I wish the sound had been better and I wouldn't have screwed up the beginning, but as my friend Ryan said, the first verse is his favorite. so, I guess it's so nice, I did it twice.

Hawkeye 10-27-2007 04:31 PM

Jazzy, you did Stand Back, Edge and BATB, and we think the real stevie doesn't vary her set list

Just Kidding.

JazmenFlowers 11-22-2007 12:40 AM

lol. well, I assure you if I had a band that could play whatever I want, you'd be ecstatic over my setlist bud. ;)

in other news, I FINALLY got the BATB video. it was shot with a different camera and even though the quality is great on my computer, it sucks on YouTube, but the audio is fair. considering how horrible the sound was from the feedback and the monitor (all I could hear was myself at a delay), I did an ok job I think. you can hear all the people in the park...and when I say people, I mean dogs and kids.
