I need some Advise, I had a horrible Day....
Considering yesterday, Im surprised today was so bad.
First of all, I wake up with this humungous ZIT on my damn nose, near where my eye is, and its-you guessed it-Picture day  This is just after getting a farm of em off of my forehead in the past two weeks. Then, My friend Sarah didnt come to school until late, so I couldnt talk to her about it, and Rachellll was talking to Melyssa, who randomly came up to us, so its not like my friends could really help me about that. After that, later in the day in gym class [yeah, I hate the class, but because of picture day we didnt have to do anything :D], Me and Sarah were talking about this kid I like [yeah thats new, because I didnt even want to like anybody this year, but I met this kid at an afterschool program, I will not disclose the name as if anyone from school reads this I'd be found out.] and how he supposedly has a college girlfriend who graduated from our school last year. PSH like I can compete with that. Im just a stupid sophomore, and anyways theyve been going out since like April-Mayish. And Sarah says shes a slut anyways, but what can ya do right? And this girl who thinks shes 'little miss perfect' thinks I'm 'being negative'. umm, if the guy you liked had a girlfriend wouldnt you be upset? but wait, shes been going out with this kid since like last year, so she can shut up. The only good thing about gym class, is that the guy who was taking pictures [he was like OLD] said I had a great smile. In AP history, we got our tests back. I have never failed a test before this one. I got a 38. then on some stupid homework sheet I usually do do, the one I DIDNT do had to be turned in, so I scribbled what I thought the Doc. was about on it, and then I basically get called out in class on it. And I got a 1/5 on that. Thankfully nothing happened D block [except kids got new seats, and now I have nobody in front of me which sucks] But at lunch, I of course, get kicked out of my table by this wierd kid on my bus, and I have to sit with Adam [hes been kindof friends with me since like 8th grade] and his friends, and some of them are kindof my friends too. That wasnt too bad, because we were joking around the whole time. And on the bus, this kid Ive been friends with since he moved here, wouldnt let me sit with him, as he usually does, so I almost had to sit with this kid who never washes his hair. but luckily someone else let me sit with them. but after he got off, that kid who kicked me out of my lunch seat, came over, and smothered me on my damn seat. I had NO ROOM! and I am a big girl, not like weight-wise, I'm average there, but Im VERY tall. and have VERY long legs. And thats not right to me, cause this kid, just moved here this year. Ive been on the bus since 7th grade. then when I get home, I tell my mom what happened, and she wouldnt let me out of a hug, cause I made her hug me. And it just sucks And now my Friend Sarah is saying to me over myspace how this kid [and I know 2 more do too] might like her, and she bitches just cause this one kid doesnt. I just dont get it. I havent done anything wrong, and yet, God seems to hate me. seriously. And I dont think Ive ever cried this much before, and even listening to FM on the bus didnt help. And the thing about that kid I like just depresses the hell out of me, and the fact how I did so bad on my test, and I dont know what to say. I just need some help. I mean even about the kid i like, whenever I like someone, something always goes wrong with it In 7th grade that kid hated my guts in 8th grade, well I think this kid may bat for the other team, and I dont care cause hes still my friend now, but he didnt have any interest in me last year the guy was just a people user, and he used me for answers in French class [part of the reason Im never taking it again after this semester] and now the kid I like has a girlfriend I dont know, I guess my lovelife has been doomed from the start. Being a Teenager sucks Point Blank. |
Wow. My teenager had a ****ty day this morning, too. I told her to go back to bed and try again later. That's all I can tell you at this point, too, honey. Go to bed and try again later. Being a teenager can suck sometime... I remember it well. It will be better sometime soon. I wish there was more I could say, except that we've all been in your shoes. You have my sympathy.

Lucky for me...I took the day off!
I'm surprised you're still having problems like this...Getting kicked out of your table for lunch, not having a seat on the bus, dramatic friends, this is all very Junior-High. This is High School, this is when we become mature, and for whatever reason I feel like you're trapped in immaturity with all this BS going on around you. Try to find some new friends, older, smarter friends. As for AP World History, unless you want to dedicate your entire night EVERY night to studying, you're ****ed. I took that class for an entire year, and got a D in it on every report card, only to get a 2 out of 5 on the 80 dollar AP test. Bottom line, life's a bitch. Try to make it as good as you can, and avoid all this unnecessary bull****. |

The good news is: there's life after high school, and it's so much better. As far as the history exam goes, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It won't ruin your entire academic career. AP classes don't get you out of that much coursework in college, anyway.

^^^
exactly what I was going to say. I wish someone had told me not to freak out about having a random C here and there. as long as you have a good academic history (good, not great) and do well on the ACT/SAT, you have no problem. |

Just suffer through the hell hole that is High School. Believe me after being in College for a month, College is just heaven.

Okay, first of all, I just have to say this. Stand up for yourself, dude. If you let people walk all over you, they will. They aren't going to stop because they aren't going to get tired of it. So tell them where to be... which is out of your face. If some weird new kid told me to move away from my lunch seat or from my spot on the bus... some weird new kid would be getting an ear-full of "go fk yourself, who do you think you are?" Don't let people boss you around. He's trippin', and you should demand more respect. You can do it all nice and adult like.. or you can just tell him to go eat his hamburger somewhere else, and while he's at it, choke on a cow wang. And then, kick him out of your bus seat. As for your love problems... I don't know the dude, but srsly... why a college girl would date a high school boy is beyond the scope of my reality. She's probably lame, which means he's probably lame, because lame people attract each other. So, move on.. there's nothing to see there. And to be honest with you... HS relationships are so not important. Neither are early college ones. The biggest lesson you can learn from this is to not go looking for someone to date. It's like arranged marriage... relationships of convenience, and even then, they're filled with high drama. The people worth getting with somehow always miraculously appear when you aren't looking and don't care. 4srs. :wavey: |

I seriously want to drop the AP class, but my mother wont let me  I just care about getting into an ok college, my family has 'high hopes' for me when Im older. But thanks for the advise everyone. It made me feel alot better. And my mom thinks that that college girl is lame too  We discussed this on the way to the orthodontist :D I agree everyone acts like a little kid, Thats why I hate school. Im actually kindof happy at my new table, just it bums me out how I just got kicked out of a lunch table I was sitting at since the first day of school, then the day after I was forced to share a seat, I sit with the other kids, and I 'abandoned' my table because I didnt want to sit on someones lap  |
Gotcha.
Really... don't worry too much about getting into a good college. You sound like you make good grades as it is. Beef up your extracurriculars - school related and non-school related. It's all about how you answer the application questions! As long as your GPA is not exceptionally low, you'll get in. Truthfully though... keep your parents' high hopes in the BACK of your mind as you decide where you want to go to school and what you want to study. College is SO DAMN EXPENSIVE. You don't want to make the mistakes that so many people do (including myself) in trying to go to or study what pleases your parents. In the end, when you've "gone your own way" down the study path of your true interest, you'll be much better off than say, those kids who have racked up tons of financial aid debt because they've switched majors and or schools so many times. Because if you get in and hate it? You'll stop going, and your grades will plummet. True story! I'm on the 15 year degree plan.... |
^ god, me too. amen sister.

But as for chrislit18 (sorry- I don't know your name)- hang in there. All the crap will move on and be replaced with new crap. As for the zit, I hope you turned your head a little, just enough to perhaps camouflage it? You're a sweet girl and reading your story makes me glad I'm not a teenager anymore. :xoxo: |

I'm not knocking you for complaining about one zit. I understand all too well. But, when I was your age, I had a face fulll of 'em. It was BAD. I mean, to the point where I'm scarred now. Hell, I'm 30 years old and get zits in my wrinkles.... there is no justice. My point? It could always be worse. Not that that stops any of us from complaining... |
Yesterday was a ****ty day everywhere but your post made me feel like I was about 48 rather than 28. I've seen your pic on here and you're pretty so don't worry about the guys, this time next year you'll be complaining that they wont leave you alone:).
We have a different education system in Britain to you (well we actually GET an education:laugh:). At your age I was pretty clear about what I wanted to do as a job and spent my time as a 17 & 18 year old working on my 'A' Levels (UK college exams). I worked flat out to get in the very best college I could and although it would have been fun spending more time with girls, I haven't ever regretted the time I spent on my studies. I went to a very good college and caught up on the partying there. As some of the others have said, things will get much better, but stick with the school work - thats the most important thing at your age....imo |

Thanks for all the advise guys :)
Today was MUCH better <3 Aside from still sucking at life in AP History [but I worked with smart kids today :woohoo: so I kindof got what was going on....], I think I did extremely well on my Honours English exam, and alright on my Health quiz. My English essay [about Catcher in the Rye] is coming along excellently. My friends were here today, and me and Sarah spent the whole day gossiping [good gossip, not stupid stuff...It really isnt even gossiping], and me and Rachellllll got to hang out today. But after school I couldnt log into my stupid school acount [which EVERYBODY thinks are stupid], and I kept typing in my PW 'Mirage18' but it wouldnt work  So one of my friends loged in and it was all better, and besdies that, I got to read a FM article from a book in the library. Tomorow is the Science Olympiad [YESSSS!!!], and I've declared it National LB day [as its his birthday, and I feel like wearing my LB shirt to school], and its a wed. Weds are always good. But thanks again for everyones uplifting words, and advise. I try not to let stupid stuff gets to me, but at times 'its so overwhelming [I] have nothing left to say....' and it just sucks. I'm glad there are some people that I can count on to help me feel better :) |

The comment was light hearted but, as you ask – yes I do:laugh:. We both know that the education system is terrible in London. I was in the state sector until 16 and then moved to a private school in Hammersmith to do my A-levels. I agree that I wouldn’t want to send a child to a state school in most of the UK’s large cities but that is to do with a number of things – none of which relates to the national curriculum – which I think is excellent. I think the breadth and depth of the subjects studied up to 14/15 gives UK kids a really good set of basics and the option to work out what will best suit them in terms of further education and career. In addition the support provided in the UK to children with educational barriers whether those relate to poverty or ethnicity etc gets better year on year. Obviously we don’t agree but in my opinion the UK system is one to be proud of. I wasn’t sure what you meant about a ‘degree that actually means something’. I like the idea of more vocational degree courses particularly in the arts. That’s a good thing. For me the benefit of being at University wasn’t so much what I know about Physics per se, but the skills I learnt – how to plan a project, define scope, undertake research, evidence conclusions, work on my own, communicate effectively etc all things that my job requires. I read Physics and Engineering at St Johns, Cambridge and then did my Master’s of Engineering at University of California San Diego so I do feel qualified to judge the relative merits of the two university systems. The final year of my first degree was far more challenging on me as an individual than my Masters course – fact. Maybe it was the Master’s course I did, but there was far too much teaching than I thought was appropriate at that level. The faculty staff should have taken a more coaching/facilitating role I think. So there you go………….you’ll be telling me that Leighton Orient are top of the League and Queens Park Rangers are at the bottom next…..:laugh: |

Just kidding, I would never mock the afflicted, and QPR fans are among the most afflicted in the country right now :o |
I believe that education is the mind's fortification against cajolers & charlatans, against panderers & persuaders. The mind takes grasp of itself, & in so doing, judges all words & deeds against the Ideal -- & that is education. :blob1::blob2::wavey:

........ I'd like to say '**** off' but then I'd get banned . That is so low taking a dig at a blokes football team when they are not doing quite so well - just not British! In fact I was very supportive last year when your team was doing badly - you've a short memory! I'll be back in a months time and we'll see how well you're doing then.................... http://farm1.static.flickr.com/27/67...e290ba7b70.jpg |

I'm sorry about everything. I can most sympathize with your guy situation. I know exactly how you feel, on account of I've felt the same way about various girls for a long time. I hope things get better. |

^ Dude, you're a genius. Seriously.
I have nothing to say except it will get better. It's not the end of the world. Things could be a lot worse. There are staring children in Africa. You know, all of those cliches. Hope I helped. |

[no offence Ethan...:)] I dont know, but that made my day besides my friend rachelllllls reaction to her progress report [oh i did amazing except in AP...I have a B in english, an A- in French and Health, an A in gym, and a D in AP  ] but Ive been feeling a lot better since I posted that. I think the blunt of it was just my 38 in History. not even the whole dating thing cause Im kindof over that. [I talked to the kid, and it was....interesting to say the least. we talked about disections, if that tells you anything.] but Wed/Thrus/Today have been pretty good days overall. So I dont feel like dying anymore. :p I know my situation could be worse, thats why I had a nice conversation with my mom about it, and she made me feel better. You guys always crack me up though :D |
