Question About Shake The Cage/ TITN Tour 1987
 

I was on the Nicksfix and it said that Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You was in the set list. Is this correct, and if so, does anyone have a copy of this live? I think it would be interesting to hear FM do this, if they did in fact. :nod:

There are tons of recordings in circulation from that tour.

Yes, they DID play it. Actually, it was Christine on piano with Stevie singing...just the girls onstage. It was one of the highlights of that tour for me. They did a four/five song stretch there in the middle of the show that was probably the best stretch of Fleetwood Mac live performance I'd ever seen or heard to that point...or, on second thought, since.

After "I Loved Another Woman" my pal (who was the Best Man at my wedding) leaned over and said "Lindsey who? Rick Vito rules!"...this was the same guy who 12 years earlier had leaned over, after Fleetwood Mac had played "Green Manalishi" at the Universal Amphitheatre, and said "Bob who? Lindsey Buckingham rocks!" He's kind of fickle that way.

i saw this show with my dad at the Cleveland Colesium.. those songs you list were amazing!!! and my dad said, "why haven't Christine and Stevie done more duets?" then he said "that new guy can play the guitar" or course his outfit used to drive me nutz

This was also the first tour that Fleetwood Mac played 'Stand Back.'

I also loved Billy's version of Oh Well on this tour. Rick Vito and Billy Burnette were good choices to replace Buckingham. Rattlesnake Shake and Stop Messin' Around were also fun highlights from this tour. I think they even did Blue Letter.

The tour merchandise was awesome too. Shame about the video/DVD though.

I actually quite enjoyed the DVD; I think they really captured the atmosphere that was there onstage.
The lack of Lindsey was my only gripe with it; Tango era was my favourite Lindsey by far *swoon* and I'm really sorry he wasn't there for this.

But La Nicks looked and sounded fabulous [I thought anyway] and Gold Dust Woman is one of the best recordings ever. Same with Stand Back :thumbsup:

Is it true, by the way, that they started playing Stevie's solo songs because after Lindsey left they lost his songs, so they had to fill up the setlist?

Come to think of it, this tour did really have a killer set list...

I agree. I have several boots from this tour (if you don't have the Las Vegas boot from this tour, go get it! ;) ) , and the Mac was on fire. The set list also helped. They were quite daring on this tour.

I Loved Another Woman, Has Anyone..., Don't Let Me Down Again, Stand Back...very good choices. The version of 'Stand Back' from the DVD rocks.

If I could go back in time and choose an era to see the Mac, it'd probably be around this era. Or the Rumours era...

i think they did Tear it Up on the BTM tour... i love that song as well... Rick was so good on the blues numbers w/ chris john and mick... it was amazing

Well for starters, it much better than the Tango DVD, although there are some points where you'd swear there's no audience.

At the start of 'World Turning', Billy shouts, "Anyone win any money?" Laughed when I first heard that. I believe Stevie dedicates 'Has Anyone...', "To my mom...and to you, Las Vegas..."]

It's probably one of my most played boots. The band interacts with crowd a fair amount on it.

Makes me wish they had released the entire Tango concert. Too bad we only got about half of it.

They did. And since there was no internet I didn't know what the set list was prior to going to the show. I nearly had a coronary when I heard the opening to Stand Back which I always wanted to hear FM do up to that point. I was thrilled to hear Don't Let Me Down Again also.

I would have loved to have that moment with SB. Funny even in 2003 people don't see it coming. :lol:
