within one minute of meeting me every single aussie changes my name to ness. love it. they are the most efficient speakers in the world. i can barely understand them, and yet i envy their sneaky speaking ways. back on the road with stevie. it's always the best. i so enjoy being a part of her world. did i tell you all that she gave me the dress she wore on the back of bella donna! ridiculous.

W/o the album in front of me I am having a hard time remembering...is the dress on the back of Bella Donna different than the one on the front???

Yeah I think that's more shawl than dress, but either way it's worth considerable bragging rights. Now if she said she had the dress from the front of Bella Donna..well, she probably shouldn't say that publicly for her own personal safety. In Stevieland there probably isn't much worth more bragging rights that that (except for maybe the same dress in black from the Rumours cover).

Stevie seems to adore Vanessa and even said that Vanessa reminds her of herself when she was young and so ambitious. I think it is incredibly sweet that Stevie has taken Vanessa under her wing, so to speak. Vanessa did an episode of MTV Cribs and also had a book that Stevie gave to her. I forget what book it was but it had a handwritten passage in the front from Stevie. I remember Vanessa kind of covered it up so the camera could not pick up what was written.
It is Stevie's dress and she can give it to whoever she wants. I think Vanessa is a worthy candidate. I mean, who else is she going to give all this stuff too? How much do Jessie really need? Stevie has cases and cases of clothing/hats/boots/shawls in storage. It is not like she is going to give it out to some random fan....:shrug: ....she gave it to someone she feels a connection with. That is very sweet.

I partialy agree, I respect stevies right to give whoever what. but Venessa Carlton? (and i do remotley on a really random day, when theres not alot of music around REALLY like vanessa carlton. all 2 of her albums.:rolleyes: It is so very sweet how stevie is looking after her. and it is so wonderful that Vanessa Respects and cherishes stevie and her gifts. Its just hat if Venessa Carlton is supposed to "carry on the legacy", than she better get moving. she has had *one* Major Big hit in like 7 years.(almost a decade)
and if stevie is her mentor, hopefully she will not follow stevies "who cares about if i release new music, lets just tour" attitude. Stevie can do that, she is a ledgend with enough recognizable songs to fill an entire concert. Venessa, well, just needs to pick up the pace. :o

Vanessa's music aside from A Thousand Miles, and Ordinary Day isn't very "commercially acceptable." But that doesn't make her any less talented. No one said she's supposed to "carry on the legacy" of Stevie Nicks. And she doesn't have to sell millions of records to create good music.

Actually, it was /Stevie who said something along the lines of VC carrying on the legacy. So there ya go. When i have more time, ill find the article. AND I will not deny her the fact that she is talented, BUT "good Music" remains in they eye of the beholder:o
