*New Calendar Contest on the Nicksfix!*
 

The Nicksfix is holding a Calendar Giveaway. There will be 5 winners for the new Herbie calendar. The thing is you have to listen to a 12 second clip of 15 songs mashed together, and identify each one correctly. It's not as easy as it sounds...here's the list i made so far of the ones i could identify. Let's all play the game together and try to guess them all! The game ends midnight on June 23rd.

number 10 [after what you have as nightbird] sounds kindof like 'sara' to me
and 6 sounds similar to 'thats alright' [when shes going, well i never did beleive in time']
also-not to argue or anything, but what you have a SOTM sounds a bit like GDW to me :shrug: i really dont know though....

This contest was extremely easy. I'd give you the answers but then I make the chances of me winning that much less. I did this once at work, every year we have a Christmas raffle for all kinds of prizes. I bought everyone in my department one raffle ticket and bought myself a bunch. Everyone else won, I got nothing!!! Three of the people couldn't figure out how they won since they hadn't purchased any tickets!!

I thought number 9 was Dreams..... now I have to go back and listen again.... I had 4 as Blue Denim but it is probably IYEDB and 13 I had as Stop Draggin' but that was a total guess....... I'm stumped on 11 too...... I need to go back and listen to them all again!! ha ha

Oh man...yea, I don't wanna be f'd up...but my chances would lessen sharing as well. I'd say it was 90% easy....ONE really bugged the crap out of me, but I got it figured. I'm almost past wanting the calendar and instead finding out if I was correct. :sorry:

I just sent mine in and I thought it was pretty easy. Two or three were stumpers for about an hour until I worked them out. I don't want to post my answers because all that will do is reduce my chances of winning. :D Numbers 5, 9 and 12 were the ones I obsessed over. It was fun though and I am pretty sure of all my answers now.

The only reason I am confident is cause this same sort of thing won me (& Tiff....w/ our combined talents =0p) tickets to the FM SYW Dress Rehearsal. I am rather fond of "name that tune" trivia. :blob1:

Thanks for informing us about this, I would have never known about it. I thought it was pretty easy. I think it's interesting how some of the easy ones for some people, are causing other people a "Whole Lotta Difficulty". :nod: Yeah, 13 was stumping me and I am still not completely sure about it.

I think there is a common thread in all the songs used. Once I figured that out, the ones I was stumped on got easier.

BTW..a few peeps on Seven Wonders think number three is a BN song. I really don't hear it and am pretty confident about my answer....which certainly is not a Buckingham Nicks tune.

Maybe it's just me, but I had all but one answer after one listen. One I had to go back and listen to again. I had to play the whole thing a few times though just to have time to write everything down. I'm not bragging, I don't stand a chance of winning, as I never win anything.
What I find interesting is all these posts with people saying "I know it's not this song, it has to be this one". Pretty interesting!!

You are good. I had about eight after the first listen but I couldn't keep track until I listened a few times. I had to think about two or three and then I got them. Please tell me......do you hear a BN tune for number three? :angel: Don't give your answer of course, but I am fretting now as I don't want to be wrong. LOL :lol: I really do not hear a BN tune, though.

definitely not LDW. there's a similar tone to the guitar, but the clip has a happy feeling, and LDW definitely doesn't. most of the answers floating around over there are wrong. obviously wrong. like have-you-ever-even-listened-to-that-freakin'-song wrong.

#3 is the only one i'm stumped on. i guess i'm going to have to play my stevie playlist starting with the least-listened-to first. blech, docklands is up first!

i'm 100% on 13 of them, and debating one more. this is aggravating - don't challenge my knowledge!

#3 is driving me up the wall. I'm not entering the contest but if I don't find out the answer, I may not get sleep tongiht.

#3 IS a BN song and it is SO easy, the only one I got tripped up on was #12 which I thought was one thing, but then I had to go back and listen to it again and thought it was something else. Then I played the two tracks in question and it became obvious.

I'm not convinced. Maybe my ears aren't as musically trained as yours or anybody else's (lyrics are more my forte) but I can't find the same notes in that little clip like I can in the song that I put down at 3.

Me neither. :confused: I was unable to fall asleep last night.....:o .......because of number three, and I played that BN song over and over. I just do not hear it. Similar, yea. The notes are just not the same. I can find the exact part of the song I picked.....note for note. :nod: Methinks we have number three correct, V.

You know what it is, and I can only do this with Stevie or Fleetwood Mac songs, there's not many other artists I can do this with, but when I'm singing along to a Stevie or Mac song, I tend to "sing" the musical breaks too. I have most of Stevie's songs memorized from start to finish and that includes the musical breaks, I can't play them on an instrument, but in my head have the entire songs memorized. It's just something that I picked up on. That is why this contest only took one listen to get all but one of them. It's a curse!!! LOL!
