Calendar photos

No, I didn't actually buy it, but I found these photos on the Seven Wonders board today. I only really like about half of them, but your mileage might vary in the end:

The cover, which we've all seen and loved:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture707.jpg

Kinda "Meh."
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture708.jpg

I like this one better than the one from the CV booklet:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture709.jpg

Funny.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture710.jpg

Stevie must have hand-tinted the utter living **** out of this thing.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture711.jpg

I might have liked this one better if I could see more of her face.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture712.jpg

Is this really the best live shot Herbert had in his archives?
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture713.jpg

Another "okay" portrait from the Wild Heart sessions.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture714.jpg

Boring.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture715.jpg

Again, I'm wondering why there are so many "ordinary" photos in this calendar.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture716.jpg

I guess this is why Stevie never really bought into the "hot pink" fad.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture717.jpg

This is my favorite by far!:blob2:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture718.jpg

This one just creeps me out.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...Picture719.jpg

Cute smile.

Thanks for sharing those. I was going back and forth as to whether I should buy it or not. Now I'm glad I didn't. For the amount he is charging I would expect the photos to really be special. For the most part they are pretty blah to me.

ELIUD 06-14-2007 12:53 PM

I agree 1000% percent with your comments. Even though I ordered it, I think it's a badly conceived calendar. Those candid pics just have no impact or appeal and seem out of place with the better studio portraits. Still I'll treasure those really beautiful shots.

I agree. Only six of the photos hold any real value for me, and two of those are the front and back covers. I'd recommend that people save their money - there's a whole lot you can buy for $40 that will amuse yourself much more than a calendar!

GarboSpeaks! 06-14-2007 01:07 PM

Those ones w/ the hat, that I have always thought were SA era, are the ones we saw in abundance @ his shop one time. There were just SO many. Gorgeous. I rather like them. But are they the best? Hard to say. Thanks for sharing. I am eager to have this for real. As for the one w/ the wine glass. OMFG...gorgeous!

GODDESS6 06-14-2007 01:11 PM

i love it, especially the candids!!!~ i would love to see all the stevie photos he has from over the yrs~

JazmenFlowers 06-14-2007 01:25 PM

it's ok. but, I doubt it's the best he has. and that's what upsets me. the man takes amazing pictures...sigh...some are fuzzy out of focus, some are overexposed looking and some are just odd pictures to put in a calendar. but, it is what it is.

luckily, there are a couple that I instantly loved...

steviefan59 06-14-2007 01:26 PM

calendar pics

hi all...i have to agree that to some of us the pics are bland...there's 1 that's even blury so that should never have been put in...on the other hand i haven't seen a couple before so to me the $'s are worth it just for the collectability of having it...take care...pat

Musicman408 06-14-2007 01:29 PM

The pics are nice, but I don't really know if it was worth the 40 or 50 dollar pricetag:sorry:

Agree totally. There are definitely a few that are completely meh, which is disappointing considering the archive of photos he probably has, but I still want it. (Pip's ordered mine, yay! Thanks Pip :) )

Anyway, thanks for posting the pics!

Here is another photo from the wine glass session. I'd like a calendar made entirely from photographs from this session.

Don't these all look like they were cropped to within an inch of their lives? Who takes pictures that close? Did Chris Nicks choose the layout for this thing?

Livia 06-15-2007 12:03 AM

There's a hi-res version of the brandy glass pic up on the NicksFix.

Yeah, I agree - would love to have all the pics from that photo session. She looks absolutely stunning!

eclipse 06-15-2007 05:52 AM

Thanks for posting-Excellent pics you found

I love the brady one too!!!!
I also like the one you think is boring...although it does look like a graduation gown, IS that she is wearing???

Thanks again Oh savage one- King of photos!!

I've always thought that picture was the most beautiful image of her when I first saw it in the Wild Heart tour book. If you didn't know who she was - you'd never believe she's a rock star and not a glamorous movie star.

StreetAngel86 06-15-2007 09:32 PM

woah
those "maybe love" black hat pictures are freakin gorgeous
more so the 2nd one
but wow
i thought my avatar was the best one :D

clearly the best pics in the bunch
and you gotta admit theyre better than the Burkah Stevie ones

THEN the brandy glass shot is the next best

most are average, i agree

MusicMan...ur sig pic is lush!

Janis_no1 06-15-2007 11:28 PM

Hmmm, thats a disappointment!! The photos i mean, not what any of you are saying. I got a quote to have the calender sent over here to Aus, $28.55. I am surprised that the photos aren't that great. Like the only one from the last 20years being two from the same shoot (with the big hat and left glove). Also, is it just me or did most of those have her all covered up?

I was really looking forward for some beauties... shame

Musicman408 06-16-2007 06:05 AM

I do love the wine glass photoshoot. The most powerful on in the calendar without a doubt.

jody 06-16-2007 10:59 AM

I thought the calendar was expensive, but I went ahead and bought it. I haven't received it in the mail yet although some on the Seven Wonders board have gotten theirs. I hope today I get it. This is my first post, by the way, :wavey: Hello all!!!

welcome Jody! :D

jody 06-17-2007 09:02 AM

Well, no calendar yet. I guess next week. :(

belladonnadream 06-19-2007 10:22 AM

I haven't purchased one yet~ and I still don't know whether I want to after seeing this! A few are nice~ I like the purse one too, the wine glass one and the cover~ but $40? That's insane! I would like one for collecting purposes only but I'll have to think about it! Maybe we've already seen his best~ The ones that have made albums and been published already~ this is like the left overs~ Especially to put the blurry ones in~ c'mon! Its like he just wanted to put in ones that we've never seen~ to get us all excited and buy it~ then surprise~ left overs!

Hello!
Jenni:lol:

ELIUD 06-19-2007 10:53 AM

Mine came in yesterday and just looked at this morning. I'm dumbfounded at how many pictures are blurry. Aside from the two or three calendar-worthy photos, this thing f-ing SUCKS.

Don't mince words. Tell us how you really feel. Seriously.

xxxmx 06-19-2007 05:10 PM

i'm not even considering ordering the calendar now.
i hope someone from his camp reads this: NEXT TIME - DON'T BOTHER.

i can right-click/save my own calendar. and it will not feature a single blurred photograph. this may be worse than chris's tourbooks :distress: why don't they ever ask the fans?

and for some fun:

Wow!
Thanks for posting, that's an amazing shot...!!

I have to say as well I'm disappointed with this. As has been said already, for that money I'd expected something really special....

Thanks for posting these!
