L.A, Anaheim, Mesa @ Vegas

So it was time for another road trip for yours truly. I loved the idea of these 4 shows being right in a row, so I decided to go for it. Flight was 30 min late getting into LAX:mad: because of weather issues over the Rockies. Had a few anxious moments there when the turbulence got prety rough. But, made it ok, and got to my Motel in Hollywood at 7:00 P.M. Needless to say, I checked in and hightailed it over to the HOB on Sunset. Decided to walk both ways because #1, I was trying to save money, and #2, I needed it. Got there at 8:00 P.M right as the doors opened, and was actually able to make my way very close up to the stage, probably about 2 rows of people back. The show was fantastic, and yes I had my celebrity feelers up, but I didnt see anyone I recognized at the show. The next day, Niki(BLTFCHLD) picked me up and we got to spend the day together. This woman is truly an angel. There is no way I would have been able to afford this trip if she hadnt helped me out by picking me up and then taking me to the bus station after the show, HOB Anaheim was excellent again, and I was right up at the stage that night. Got to shake Lindsey's hand at the end of Tusk, and had a great time. Then after the show, Niki and I I had to belt out of there because I had to catch an overnight Greyhound bus to Phoenix for the Mesa show the next night. We made it to the San Bernardino bus station with about 15 minutes to spare, and the bus ride was uneventful. Got into Phoenix at about 7 AM and walked the .5 miles to my motel. Thankfully they let me check in early and I was able to get a good 8 hours of sleep. Going to the show, I was able to utilize the Valley Metro bus system so I didnt have to pay exhorbitant fees for a cab. I caught the bus about .5 mils from the motel and it dropped me off right at the Mesa Arts Center. Ok now for the downer:mad: . This was BY FAR the MOST Lame crowd Ihave ever seen at a Lindsey show including Baltimore. I knew right away with all the old farts coming in this was gonna be a snoozer of a crowd. The buzz for this show was that during the GYOW solo at the end, Lindsey stepped out in front of his Mic and proceeded to bend over and shake his ass at the crowd. I laughed out loud. Thought it was very funny. He later apologized to the crowd saying "I hope no one was offened by me shaking my ass out there tonight." Saturday found me on another bus bound for Las Vegas. This trip was also smooth and I arrived in Vegas at about 4:15 P.M. Made my way over to the Hard Rock and ate at the resturant. By this time I was pretty tired from all the traveling so I sat back at the rear of the Joint and just took the show in. Made it out to the airport and got on my plane at 1:00 AM and got back home at 6:30. It was a very fast 4 days but a helluva lot of fun!

WelshWitchPMD 06-10-2007 09:14 PM

Glad that you had a good time and that you made it back safe, David. Lindsey shaking his ass is just too funny. I wonder what made him do that?

gretchen 06-10-2007 09:42 PM

Linds was just probably feeling frisky and just threw it all out there!!!:p

WelshWitchPMD 06-10-2007 09:59 PM

David how was security with cameras? Did you try to take any photos? Did you get to see or chat with Lindsey at all?

BTFLCHLD 06-10-2007 10:02 PM

I thought it was obvious.
Lindsey shook his ass cause I let him know, without doubt, that I "love that sweet ass!" :woohoo:

Pattie, lets put it this way, the HOB security was terrible. You wouldve thought a terrorist was trying to get in. What shows are you going to upcoming? I did not get to see Lindsey at these shows. I figured there would be too many people that wanted to see him since it was Cali and Vegas and Phoenix that I didnt try. Maybe next shows I go to though

You just have a safe trip!:xoxo: As far as what I'm going to, I'm trying to decide if I can afford to go to Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Fargo, and Milwaukee. If I cant afford all of them then I'll just go to Sioux Falls and Fargo. But those 2 for sure I';m going to.

Well. I definitely won't be doing 80 as there will be no passengers who have scheduled a bus an hour after a show!

Glad ya had a blast at the shows David, no matter how the security and fans sucked!!!

Lisa1769 06-10-2007 11:30 PM

Damn, David....You've got to be tired! I would be in bed for a week after an excursion like that. My anxiety couldn;t' handle it.  I'm so jealous. I wanna go to another show so bad. Glad you had a nice trip!

carol7lynn 06-11-2007 09:23 AM

David,
Glad to hear you made it to SanBernadodo on time. I met you and Nikki at the Anaheim HOBs. What happened between you and that woman after the show? Was she the woman who complained about people jumping the line? Just curious.

Leaving for San Diego om about a half an hour. I'm taking the Train down. Hope to see Nikki and other Ledgies. They truly are awesome especially Nikki for taking you under her "white wing!" Ledgie fans are the best I've ever run into in my 40 plus years of concert going. Thanks again to Gloria for getting me the stage left position for SA.

As for cameras, both Nikki and Gloria were able to get cameras in without a problem to Anaheim HOBs. They really didn't do a very thorough search of Gloria's bag as far as I could see. So give it a try.

Got to go!:blob1: :blob2:

Last time at Vegas - I was so busy watching her, I got distracted and forgot to watch Liddy Buck's set. Can you imagine that?

Was Jessica (his website manager) there with her mom?

Was the place filled????

carol7lynn 06-12-2007 08:07 PM

Hope you don't mind me jumping in here David but in answer to TeeDee's question Jessica and her mom where in Vegas. I sat next to them last night in San Diego and they said the same thing David did about Cowgirl Hat girl.

shebop 06-12-2007 11:29 PM

Cowgirl was next to me.......
Security was on her - until - Lindsey got furious and screamed at security
to back off - I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this. I have never seen him
so angry. He mentioned it at the end of the show - thanking the crowd and apologizing if anyone had been manhandled by security.
Cowgirl was much calmer than the last Vegas shows - but she did manage to spill an entire drink on me - arrgghhh.

David had mentioned this to me but he said that security conducted a spread across the stageline and felt that is what was upsetting to Lindsey. David didn't notice any manhandling and seemed to feel the apology was unnecessary. Did you notice something more?

Well I think Lindsey was more pissed that they were up there because he mentioned that his people had said before the show to let people up to the stage. I was standing next to 3 security people before the show and they were talking about her and to watch her. LOL

shebop 06-13-2007 01:25 AM

They didn't start out standing across the stage but when it came to
the point where people started creeping up the middle aisle to the stage they made their move and blocked the way - and they were pretty aggressive!
I think the problem started during "I'm So Afraid" when cowgirl got into a rather heated debate on accessing the stage - it was very visible!!!

You mean with how hammered she was she actually could talk straight?

There's a shock. At the Boulder shows back in April she was on the other side of the stage from me and her and the 2 guy next to her were drinking all night. I looked at Pattie, who was standing next to me and said "Guess were on the wrong side of the stage tonight."

shebop 06-13-2007 01:40 AM

When I arrived she was buzzed but completing sentences - she kept starting conversations with me - we were ok until she spilled the drink......

Cowgirl Hat 06-13-2007 09:18 PM

Unreal

Shebop, it was an accident and I apologized more than once. You could have at least mentioned that. Sorry if I started a few conversations with you. Perhaps it was because you had no problem asking me all of your questions.

Dave, why would you give me a big hug and pretend you are a fellow friend, then turn around and talk trash about me here?

Well, I will not be drinking anymore at any future shows so you guys can watch Lindsey like you should, instead of me.

To both of you, do not pretend to be nice to me then come here and trash me. And btw Dave, you talk about me doing something stupid.. Well, what you're doing is just that. I hear you're about 40k in debt.

Furthermore, I think Lindsey was on my side about security. Lindsey and I have talked about this before. And he has told me along with others that yes, he does want us off our feet and showing our support. I think that has been covered before from what I have read about other shows.

Now, can you guys stop throwing knives and discuss the music?

CH

Who wants to place bets on how long it takes for THIS thread to disappear?

:wavey:

As for debt...I don't see how anyone can do thirty or forty shows without being in debt.
Unless you have some sugar Daddy paying for your every ticket.

shebop 06-13-2007 10:49 PM

For the record - not to incite bad will.......
I did not ask any questions - I complemented Ms.Cowgirl on her rebuttal last go-around.
Also - IF I had received an apology I would have been much happier - what I did get was an offer of cash for dry cleaning which I declined as I explained the problem was not the aspect of cleaning but the wringing wet state of my pants.
If you read my prior post you will see that I mentioned that I felt Lindsey was not happy with what was happening when security stopped you during "I'm So Afraid".
Choose your battles - as I also said - I had no problem until the drink was spilled. I find sloppy drunkenness annoying. I can ignore it until it affects me.

Enough.

Dear I wasnt trashing you, I was just pointing out what security was saying. I have no problem with you.:)

carrie721 06-13-2007 11:34 PM

god, didn't you guys learn anything last time you talked **** about cowgirl hat and she pwned your asses?

Cowgirl Hat 06-13-2007 11:41 PM

Shebop.. If I didn't apologize, I apologize now and I did not do it on purpose. So I hope you will accept this. Again, I will not be drinking at anymore shows. I hope this will end any talk about me. However, you asked me some questions. One was what was my real name, another.. about the signing of the jeans. I felt like I was getting to know someone on here that was actually being cool to me. We were laughing at one point. Then I am reading about how well I can talk, my sentences, etc.. Which to me is not very nice. But again, the drink was an accident, I apologize and it will not happen again.

Dave, I never felt any ill will for you until I read the part about me doing something or not, that was stupid. From the moment I arrived at the Joint, everyone from the bartenders to the ushers to the security were being nice and helpful towards me. I did get to the point where I was getting tired of this one particular guard who wouldn't let us up there. That's the only one who I had a problem with. Apparently Lindsey had one as well. So I am surprised to think security was given any warning about me. I've met Lindsey on a few occasions. He's always been kind to me and has told me to come out to more shows. I am cool with him but it is some of the crowd who seem to have it out for me. I feel I try to be nice to everyone I meet. I'm not here to argue with anyone but I will speak up when I think it is garbage that is being said. I also feel that if there's a problem or someone dislikes me, come talk to me or PM me.

That's my peace, hopefully we can all get along.

Thanks,
CH
