Red Rocks...on fire!

I don't have time to post a full review but stevie was on fire last night! The band was great, the arrangements were tight, and stevie pulled out the punches for sure.

Will post more later with pics.

If anyone else was there and cares to elaborate...feel free!

Red Rocks looks so beautiful - I would LOVE to go see a show there.

Clayre 05-29-2007 11:43 AM

Yes, I had seats in the 7th row at Red Rocks last night--Beautiful night out with an about to be full moon! CI &SN ROCKED--Same setlists--No surprises! :wavey:

slvrgrl 05-29-2007 12:05 PM

My husband & I were there also on the 7th row! It was an amazing night - couldn't have asked for better weather or a better venue. I've been wanting to see a show at Red Rocks for 6-7 years now and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Except for the hike up the hill through the brush and then up the extremely steep and seemingly neverending ramp!!

No surprises in the show. I was disappointed that it seemed she had slowed Rhiannon way down. The beautiful performance of HSML more than made up for it though. I can only hope to have that much energy at 59!

It was amazing to turn around and look back up at all the people - it was totally packed - and think that it was 21 years ago when the Red Rocks video was made and it was just as packed with a crowd that was just as 'on fire' as the one last night. Now that's staying power!!

We had hoped to be able to see her get into the limo after the show, but the security was forcing everyone to move along from the wall and leave the venue. VERY annoying.

All in all, it was SO worth the trip from SC to see her despite the non-changing setlist.

Livia 05-29-2007 06:14 PM

I was there! In fact, I'm still stuck in the Denver airport - trying to get home. Bad weather here, there and everywhere...

I was in the third row, on Al and Waddy's side. What can I say? The show, the venue, the moon, the stars - there was magic all around us. I got up front for the Edge walk, right on the rail. The top of Stevie's head came up to my nose! I've been fortunate to have had the Edge walk experience a number of times, but getting to do so at Red Rocks was a dream come true!

This airport internet BS is costing me a fortune, I'll post more later, and some pics.

Yeah....it's ugly in Denver and Northern Colorado today...sorry you're stuck there. I was stuck there last week...not fun.

I am still smarting from missing this concert...:distress:

Christopher 05-30-2007 11:57 AM

She came out in leather pants for STAND BACK

Nobody mentioned that Stevie came out in Leather pants w/ boots the gloves and a short mini skirt during Stand Back and didnt change for at least 4songs to the dress......
She looked like a biker chick!
I had a blast at the concert...Danced and Sang my ass off......

Livia 05-30-2007 12:47 PM

*****Both Stevie/Eye Sack spoilers*****

I don't think they were leather - they look just like the other pants she wore for Rock and Roll - but these have sparkly/glitter from about mid-thigh all the way to the bottom. At first I thought she was wearing the Rock and Roll pants with glittery leg warmers, but then I realized the glitter was ON the pants.

Best live version of HSML I've ever heard/seen! VERY sexy at the end - she went sauntering off the stage - between Lenny and Jimmy - slooooowly twirling her shawl over her head - like the lasso move in SYW, it was HOT! And I believe it's been mentioned in earlier reviews - "My lonely......OOOOOOOONE!"

A few more highlights: I touched Chris Isaak! He went through the crowd - all the way to the top of Red Rocks!!! He came back down on our side and I grabbed his arm. Waddy came out and joined them for "I Want You to Want Me."

My flight didn't leave Denver until 10 PM last nite (was supposed to leave at 4!). By the time I got home, it was 1:45 AM and I was immediately accosted by several attorneys needing **** RIGHT NOW from the second I walked into the office this morning ...I'll post more tidbits when I get a chance - and post some pics when I get home tonight.

That should shut some people up who critisize her current versions of the songs specifically for not singing the "OOOOONE" I knew if performed it night after night she'd keep getting better and better at it

That sounds great. THanks for that. Hopefully from where my family will be, we'll be able to really see everything. It's so good to hear positive reviews and such.

IIIII'M 59! 59 years old - and I can streeeetch aaaand kick and streeeetch! I think this might have been HSML - the "oooooooone" scream. Which was better than "go hoooooome" in GDW that night, imo. Wait a sec...I'm all confused now 'cause I'm posting out of set list order...I think it's FFG - "surviiiiiiiiiive!"

Great pics Livia! I swear the boots are different than she wore in San Diego. From my view the heels looked thinner, but I could be wrong. Love the shawl pic...would be great for my desktop wallpaper.

Preach it, sister.

Musicman408 05-31-2007 10:34 AM

Those pics were awesome. Livia, did you end up touching Stevie's hand during the Edge walk?

Livia 05-31-2007 10:37 AM

We had a quite a moment. I put my camera strap up to my elbow after I took that close-up shot - to free my hands. Stevie got to me and kinda tilted her head to one side and gave me a huge smile! She grabbed both my hands and I saw her looking at my crescent moon necklace. Then she tilted her head to the other side and gave me a look as if to say, "Wow - look at that!" I said, "Yeah, nice necklace, huh?" I don't know if she heard me or not, but she was laughing and then she leaned in and I gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek. :D

HOLY CONOLE!!!! That's so freaking awesome. I gotta say I am now officially jeleous. What row were you in?

Livia 05-31-2007 10:46 AM

3rd row - and then we busted a move up to the rail when Edge started.
