Paris Hilton - Prison Bitch

Hilton sentenced to 45 days in jail

By SANDY COHEN, AP Entertainment Writer 5 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES - A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life.

Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or any electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing.

The judge ruled that she was in violation of the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

"I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," she told the judge before announced the sentence.

She was then ordered to report to women's jail in suburban Lynwood.

The heiress arrived at court 10 minutes late in the back of a black Cadillac Escalade and swept into the Metropolitan Courthouse with several men in suits, ignoring screams of photographers lining the route into a rear entrance. Her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, also came with her.

Wearing a gray jacket and white shirt over black slacks and with a black headband on, she said nothing and appeared serious.

The celebrity case brought an unusual scene to the austere courthouse south of downtown in a commercial area. As if at a red carpet event, dozens of photographers and reporters lined up at the rear entrance. Yellow police tape substituted for velvet ropes.

TV trucks were parked nearby to beam the news worldwide and a helicopter hovered overhead. Extra sheriff's deputies stood guard.

Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.

She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

Two other traffic stops and failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program, are what landed the socialite back in court.

On Jan. 15, Hilton was pulled over by California Highway Patrol. Officers informed her that she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive, according to papers filed in Superior Court.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies stopped Hilton on Feb. 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.

Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time Hilton wasn't aware her license was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on Jan. 15 was found in the car's glove compartment, court papers say.

Well, I think 45 days for 2 more violations and failure to enroll in a required program is typical for average people, but normally, celebrities are cut some slack. In this case, I think the judge is making an example of her because of her not-so-shining reputation.

I neither like nor dislike Paris, but I do think 45 days in jail sucks. I'd say there's a decent chance she'll have to serve all of it, honestly. My father oversees corrections in my area, and they don't typically let people out early for V.O.P. Her only chance for early release, probably, is if they credit her with time served for good behavior.

More than becoming someone's bitch, I'd guess that there's a better chance of her paying someone to be HER bitch and make sure no one steals her juice box, toast, or cigarettes. That's what I'd do.

jannieC 05-05-2007 06:48 AM

Somehow I find it hard to believe that Paris will spend her time exactly like all the other inmates. I just can't picture it.

Paris Hilton should not be imprisoned. She should be vaporized and rendered an unperson.

Exactly -- I get that drinking and driving is bad and that was an idiot for not towing the line -- but how does putting this idiot in jail for 45 days in any way making us safer as opposed to, oh I don't know, using that time and effort to catch a rapist.

Having said that, I would not be surprised if PH did not do this as a publicity stunt. I can assure you she will be treated differently in prison and when she gets out, she will write a book or something like that.

Actually, rumor on the street is Kim may be imprisoned for the 10+ contempt charges. You, of course, are automatically opposed to that

Martha was in a low security prison a/k/a Club Fed. I think Paris is going to the real deal. She will, however, likely be treated in a better manner than most if for nothing else than the guards will know the hell she can give them in the press if they abuse her.

JazmenFlowers 05-05-2007 11:35 AM

unless I'm mistaken, her sentence was in response to her probation violation. nothing out of the ordinary where I'm from. bitch deserves it.

and if I had been the judge, her mom would be right beside her after making comments in open court the way she did.

strandinthewind 05-05-2007 12:08 PM

I missed that. What did her mother say?

from what I've read, she laughed and giggled while the judge was speaking and then once he read the verdict she said "can I have YOUR autograph?"

Really

If that is true, I am rather shocked the judge did not slam her with a contempt citation and call her out whiole doing so.

I would love to see that video!!!!

We are the Hilton's..Don't you know who we are? We are above the law!
Love how they found her signed affidavit stating that she is aware that
driving violates her parole in the ****ing glove compartment!!!! :distress:

Do you really think their presence was meant to be intimidating. I know of no judge who would be intimidated. Almost every judge I know could care a less about celebrity.

As for her not knowing. I am sure she did. And, if she didn't, it really does not matter. Moreover, I find it hard to believe that her $500+ and hour lawyer did not advise her.

In the end, why didn't this stupid idiot have a driver?

No joke. Give me that much money and I will never, ever have a DUI or any other driving incident. I kind of like to drive, but on a day to day basis - particularly late night after a party - I'd hire a driver in a heartbeat.

I am sure Hilton Co. in LA alone has several limos and contracts or contacts with every major car service in LA. Moreover, her parents likely have a personal staff of at least 20 and they likely could be trusted if that is an issue.

DavidMn 05-05-2007 02:58 PM

I smell a new reality show.:D We'll call it Prisoner Cell Block Paris, after that show from the 80's Prisoner Cell Block H. I think as she arrives in the cell, another prisoner should recreate that scene from the shining where Jack goes HEEERREES JOOOHNNY!

goldustsongbird 05-05-2007 03:02 PM

I don't think safety is the issue. She broke the law, she does the time. She shouldn't be pardoned because she's a ~*~celebrity~*~. It happens a lot in Hollywood, celebs getting a slap on the wrist where a "normal" person would get more serious repercussions.
