Dilana and Magni do Landslide

Has this already been posted?

Do I post in this thread or in Rumours or in chit-chat?

~I have so many questions.

I rather like this. I think it's interesting that it's more a cover of latter-days Stevie live Landslide rather than a cover of the recorded version.

At least Dilana doesn't tap her perfectly manicured nails on Magni's shoulders during the guitar break, nor does she give a fake hug at the end. ;)

So what do you alls think?

Great version. Wonder if and when Dilana is going to release a new album?

Sorceress 04-29-2007 10:46 PM

Well, Magni is no Lindsey on the guitar. :) But god, I love Dilana. I'm not a fan of her first album, but maybe on a new album she'll choose some better songs. And maybe she'll work with a lyricist on some of her own stuff. When I saw her live, she played a song that wasn't nearly finished, humming a good part of it that didn't have lyrics yet. Regardless, she was awesome live.
Thanks for posting this!

Thanks for posting, Ryan. I really enjoyed that. I still want to see her in concert. I'm hoping she comes to the Bay Area at some point.

It was OK. I thought I'd like it more. Too karaoke, I wish she would have done something different with it. Of course, I have no idea what.

I loved Dilana on Rock Star...she definitely should have won, but I was kind of glad she didn't so that she could go off and do her own thing. I knew Supernova would never really materialize into anything good, and in fact, I don't even think they released an album. Anyway, off of the sidebar, Dilana doesn't sound too good here. She actually sounds like Lucy Lawless on the Fajita Roundup skit. I still think she rocks, just not a very good performance here.

JazmenFlowers 04-30-2007 06:28 PM

wow. I really liked it. I love the fragility her voice brings to the song.

STEVEHEDRICK 04-30-2007 07:10 PM

well done love her!

Are people required to cover this song now? Will it be on my driving test?

Vocals are pretty impressive. Guitar is not.

Crawled out from under my rock long enough to stutter...who the hell are these people? Dill & Magpie? No, but really, some backgorund? Apparently they are appreciated? Neverheard of them. :sorry:

Apologies:

Dilana and Magni were finalists in the show "Rockstar Supernova" last summer. Many of us became Dilana fans, especial BTFLCHLD.

i love dilana! this version is really good. not much variation from the recent stevie versions but her vocals are spot on. she sounds like stevie to me & always has. liked her vulnerability. thanks for posting! cool :D

Musicman408 05-02-2007 05:23 PM

Yeah, the vocals were pretty solid. I liked it. The guitar....... not quite as much.
