Stevie' performance on Ellen

I thought it was pretty good. I've seen better, but it wasnt **** by any means. What I thought was interesting was her response to Ellen's Fleetwood Mac renunion question. She didnt seem all that enthusiastic about it, which surprised me.

estranged4life 04-24-2007 10:42 AM

Mama-cita...

seemed more animated than usual...A very good performance of "Stand Back"...but

The local channel interrupted the very beginning of "Landslide" with a storm warning...Gee, unless I see a funnel out in my effin' yard ya NEVER interrupt Mama-cita!!!

stevie on ellen and fm

hi...i thought she did a fantastic job on stand back and landslide was cut at the end of the show by rolling credits...as to her not being enthusiastic on a new fm cd after seeing the say u will behind the scenes on veoh i'm not in the least surprised...she did say "i can't do this anymore" meaning all the fighting with lindsey on the syw album...i think she's just happy doing her own thing and playing with other artists...she's not totally against a new album...just has other priorities right now and she did say after the summer tour ends she's going to take some time off...take care...pat

Rumours 04-24-2007 12:54 PM

Can't wait to see it!
Not on 'til 3pm here too, but I'm at work anyway...I'm taping it!!!

Happy Stevie-on-the-Ellen-Show-Day!!!!! :)

Stephanie

NoSpeedLimit 04-24-2007 12:55 PM

Just saw it...Thank goodness I didn't have to work until 3pm today. Thought it was good..she seemed hesitatant on the FM question lol

CelticGypsy 04-24-2007 01:41 PM

Stevie did pretty good. It sort of sounded off or she just didn't have alot of energy? I wish they didn't cut Landslide while rolling the credits. Was hoping she and Ellen would have had more time to have a long conversation. Stevie looked great!!!! Can't wait to see Lindsey tomorrow on Ellen's show.

jkmaletic 04-24-2007 01:42 PM

I haven't seen it yet- I'm going to try between patients. Did she do a sit-down interview with Ellen? or only a couple questions between performances?

Lee 04-24-2007 01:48 PM

I watched the tape @ on my lunch break. Yes, she was very animated during Stand Back. She & Ellen hugged after this song. The audience all got a copy of CV. I don't know if that's just the CD or CD/DVD combo. Ellen did ask her about touring with FM again. Stevie said you never know despite the fighting etc. I guess Ellen didn't think she sounded like that was for sure, so then Stevie said that isn't a no, it's not a no. So if it's not a no, I guess that's would be a yes, huh?

Then Landslide was the last song which you didn't get to hear the whole song because they then rolled the credits & went off. I hate when they do this. She did look good & sounded good, too.

Lee :)

The show airs at 3pm CST in Chi so I haven't seen it yet. Maybe Stevie was not enthusiastic about FM (and it's weird for Ellen to call it a "reunion", because the band is still together, just certain members doing their own things at the moment) because Lindsey is somewhat slipping away from her; in that he has a family and he keeps saying this is the best time in his life...etc. Maybe the magical thing between them is just too hard for her to maintain in her heart (the secret emotional pain it is causing)...to be with him again in the context of recording, singing, and touring may just be something that would be a constant reminder that still she may never fully have him. I believe she is a strong lady, but a heart can only take so much. Just my thoughts.

Livia 04-24-2007 02:46 PM

I went home for lunch and watched - loved the SB performance. I wasn't paying much attention during Landslide - dishes - rushing out the door - I'll watch it again later. Was that Lenny Castro on percussion? I was sitting far away from the TV while eating and couldn't tell...And who's the new keyboard player? Anyone know?

Same black dress - that low cut one w/ the doily trim. Boots! Black gloves!

I was disappointed that there was no sit-down interview. They should have cut that stooopid ink thing that I ff'd through and made time for a Stevie interview.

Ellen said the audience was getting copies of the CD - whether she meant that literally, or meant to say CD/DVD, I don't know.

baboles 04-24-2007 02:58 PM

Is there any chance that someone could upload this to youtube.com

I missed it because I was at school. :(

GODDESS6 04-24-2007 03:02 PM

it's just starting here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:blob1: ~

Mokona 04-24-2007 04:05 PM

I am so disappointed they didn't interview her. I sat through everything (Anthony Hopkins barking like a dog? OK, it was a little funny) thinking that there was plenty of time for a little Q&A session with Stevie, but they put so much filler in that she only had time to sing.

Eh, SB was just OK. Not my favorite version. Landslide was beautiful, but they cut to an American Airlines credit, so you could still hear her, but they were showing an airplane, not Stevie. I wish Landslide had been first, but I'll take what I can get. And maybe she didn't want to disappoint the audience by saying no to another FM comeback? She didn't seem that enthused to me.

Beatlesfan 04-24-2007 04:14 PM

Just started here!! Can't wait!

shackin'up 04-24-2007 04:15 PM

stand back and landslide? Oh my god, I'm going through the roof here!. I missed it!!! Sh*t sh*t sh*t!!

shackin'up 04-24-2007 04:18 PM

I bet lindsey's doing big love and NGBA, then tomorrow....

Fallfromgrace84 04-24-2007 04:18 PM

New band

When it comes up on Youtube I'll have to check this out again. It looks like Lenny in back on percussion?? ABOUT TIME! I like Taku, don't get me wrong. I've spoken with Taku before and apparently Lenny is one of the best out there, and as a musician I agree :-) And new keyboard players? I know sometimes the band memebers can't make it, so we'll see who shows up on tour. I'm pumped!
As far as the show today.. eh.. it was "ok". I think she's use to singing and having her voice up and going later in the evening.

foxyluva 04-24-2007 04:24 PM

Sombody post it!!! It wont air in NZ for atleast a week and a half...

Johnny Stew 04-24-2007 04:26 PM

Woke up bright and early to watch it -- we get three different channels that air 'Ellen' throughout the day, but I had to watch the first airing. *nerd*

Stevie looked GORGEOUS, but I thought her vocals on the beginning of "Stand Back" were a little off. Maybe it's hard to just walk out and start singing cold. She was very animated and seemed to be having fun.
"Landslide" was stunning and her vocals were perfect... too bad they didn't air the entire performance. If they had trimmed the fat of the show a little, they would have had time for it.

All in all, it was worth getting up for.

Johnny Stew 04-24-2007 04:27 PM

Oh, and if anyone misses it, don't forget that the Oxygen network re-airs 'Ellen' episodes a week after they're originally broadcast. I believe airtime is 2am, EST.

GODDESS6 04-24-2007 04:28 PM

i thought she was fabulous & seemed to be having fun~

They advertised her guests for tomorrow's episode about seven times during the episode -- they kept mentioning Larry King and "The Glute Lady." Lindsey was only mentioned once at the tail-end of the show, and it almost seemed like an after-thought.

Musicman408 04-24-2007 04:41 PM

Man, I wasn;'t able to catch this. I had physical therapy....... Where's the tv guide, I'm looking for a replay.

stevierocks87 04-24-2007 04:54 PM

Yeah, all the filler was stupid, there was plenty time to do a short interview. She did sound pretty rought at the beginning of Stand Back, very goat-ey :sorry: Looked hot though- love the boots!

I think Brett and Taku are with Lindsey this year. He gets custody of the Mini Mac musicians, Stevie gets custody of the back-up singers, Mick gets custody of ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarists, and John...well...John doesn't get custody :distress:

Beatlesfan 04-24-2007 05:00 PM

ELLEN YOU DOOF!!! She couldn't wait FIFTEEN seconds to talk about a stupid airline?!?!

SandyMac 04-24-2007 05:41 PM

I recorded the whole show on my DVR so I have never done this before. Will try to edit down to post on YouTube as fast as I can, unless someone beats me to it.

(That is funny about the custody of the Mini Mac musicians).
I wonder how all of that is determined. Pre-signed contracts? Lindsey pays more money? I can just hear it now...

Lindsey: I want Taku/Brett the first half of the month, and you can have them the second half.

Stevie: Oh, no, that will not work. Taku is one of the best percussionists, I can give a little on Brett, but NOT Taku. or I get them the first half of the month and you get them the second half... or every other week.

UnwindedDreams 04-24-2007 05:51 PM

I would be so grateful, SM...I'm almost crying because I can't see it. I came rushing home from work to. Thanks so much...

I'd say it's a maybe, I guess Stevie would just like to spend some more time in a tour where she doesn't have to walk a tight rope everytime she goes onstage.

If they give him two songs to perform, I think he'll at least do one new one from his album. He's intensely into his new stuff, and much more likely than Stevie to take a "risk" and perform a new song.

jkmaletic 04-24-2007 06:25 PM

Not one of her better performances for either song, and I believe it was due to nervousness. It's funny, cause you think after all these years she'd be used to doing the TV stuff and not be so nervous. But she's always admitted to being nervous for those types of things. My co-worker watched it with me and thought she sounded bad. I explained that she's much better in concert, with her fans as the audience.
Maybe Stevie should go back to taking that shot of tequila before a performance. Poor thing.

Cause he has a new cd and she has a best of;)

RockALittle250 04-24-2007 06:52 PM

I bet if Ellen asks Lindsey the same question tomorrow, he will say that FM is set for a world tour to kick off in 2008 with a new album...oh, and Christine is back in the band! (yea right!)

^^^^
No, no, no....He will mention "Fleetwood Mac works in cycles, My solo career happens in cycles, My speeches seem to feature the word 'cycles'"

At least my local channel FINALLY showed the TV promo ad for the OKC concert - did anyone else see TV ad promo for concerts in their respectful areas???

rbs3676 04-24-2007 07:13 PM

Not my favorite performance. Although I did like the vocals at the very end of SB. Her make-up and hair looked pretty. Not crazy about the outfit but I'm glad the boots are back. I'm happy that she said she needs some time off.
I agree...

rbs

Livia 04-24-2007 07:26 PM

^^^ Time off as in "not touring..." But time off to record new stuff is a whole 'nother story. :p (crosses fingers)

Yeah, LB has been doing nothing but new stuff on his entire talk show circuit. With 2 songs on Ellen, I wouldn't be surprised if he does one new one and an older hit to please the audience.
