LOL Justin Timberlake...thats pretty funny.

I haven't even heard of most of these songs. Love the John Mayer song.

Thanks for finding this...that is so awesome of her to do!! How do you access this feature on iTunes?

carrie721 04-10-2007 06:38 PM

It's posted on their music homepage, under "Celebrity Playlists." There's a big pic of Stevie at the top of the page. I think it's pretty cool that she follows current music.

Here's what she wrote for each song in case you don't have iTunes.

I have to agree...

I've never heard of several of these people. Primitive Radio Gods? Force MDs? Craig David?

I will say that it's nice that she's not just listening to '70s/80s white rock, which is what I get the feeling a lot of people here would want her to listen to.

RockALittle250 04-10-2007 07:18 PM

I checked Diana Ross' playlist...every song on there is her own song...how stupid is that!? At least Stevie is original and IMO has picked a good variety of songs from different genres.

Johnny Stew 04-10-2007 07:23 PM

I love these songs....

That's the Way Love Goes - Janet Jackson
Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money in My Hand - Primitive Radio Gods
Your Body Is A Wonderland - John Mayer
Cry Me a River - Justin Timberlake

I'm impressed that Stevie does too.

I saw that...but it's not really surprising. The woman has an ego the size of Canada. Check out her autobiography...good grief.

Dreamz19 04-10-2007 07:42 PM

I know everyone except for Primitive Radio Gods and Force MDs. I think it's cool that Stevie listens to different genres of music. I listen to basically everything myself. I have been playing "What Goes Around...Comes Around" to death lately and it's interesting knowing Stevie likes it too :)

Edit: Now I know who Force MD is. I couldn't place the song Tender Love for a minute.

I thought it was kinda interesting when Stevie mentions that the "Cry Me a River" (song & video) and "What Goes Around..." reminds her of Lindsey and herself from long ago. Both of those songs are about cheating. For a split second I was thinking hummm.....but I remember reading a comment from Stevie or Lindsey saying that they never cheated on each other. So maybe she meant that Justin writing a song about the demise of his relationship with Britney was similar to how she and Lindsey wrote "Dreams" and GYOW about each other.

BlackWidow 04-10-2007 08:23 PM

Tender Love & Angel Of Mine....LOVE IT!!!

markolas 04-10-2007 08:51 PM

I think she should bust out with "Angel of Mine" on the Chris Isaak tour. I can practically see people frothing at the mouth.

OMFBG.

If anyone here knows me when I am 58 friggin' years old and I can't make a comment to people about anything without bringing up a relationship that ended 30 years prior, beat me with a club.

kak125 04-10-2007 09:04 PM

Love it

OMG, I soo love Stevie's playlist. I love the Janet Jackson songs and John Mayer, Vanessa Carlton, Justin Timberlake and Craig David.

Thinking of Craid David's 7 Days and Janet Jacksons Go Deep make me think that Stevie has been getting frisky lately, LOL

Stevie...I LOVE YOUR PLAYLIST.

Just like she says, she's an R&B girl.

golddustwoman77 04-10-2007 09:12 PM

Did anyone else have this thought? That Stevie doesn't really listen to this stuff. That was the first thing that came to my mind. I don't know; I just don't see her listening to this playlist while she gets ready for her show.

She always talks about how nervous she is before shows, and I can't see her sitting around listening to this playlist to calm her nerves.

I'm thinking that she didn't want to seem fuddy-duddy, so she picked mostly fairly-current songs. I don't know it just seems odd to me.

Stevie said this? I figured she liked different types of music but I didn't know she was an R&B fan. I like it too but mostly the old stuff.

Sure, she does! Remember when she commented on TLC's Unpretty? She was so inspired by the song that she sought out the producer, Dallas Austin, to work on tracks for TISL. (I'm convinced he worked on the Bombay Sapphires outtakes.)

She's also mentioned that she listens to satellite radio while working out on the treadmill. So I'm sure she's well versed on today's music. :woohoo:

JazmenFlowers 04-10-2007 10:12 PM

I ****in love Maxwell.

but this list is weird and awesome at the same time. I would've never guessed Stevie to pick Go Deep...

foxyluva 04-11-2007 03:15 AM

Stevie's lame music taste somehow just makes her cooler

UndoingTheLaces 04-11-2007 03:16 AM

Wow, I'm really amazed at how mean some of you people can be. I always thought The Ledge was supposed to be a place where we could get together and share our love of all things Stevie. Just because you don't like a song or even a style of music doesn't mean that it's bad. I happen to really love that Primitive Radio Gods song, which was a one hit wonder from the mid 90's, by the way, so the idea of her only picking current songs isn't exactly right. I think she has quite an eclectic taste in music and while I don't like all the songs in her list it does show that she likes a lot of different kinds of music.

This post really makes me sad.

If Stevie is on the treadmill enough to listen to this set of songs more than 3 times a week, I will track down Dissention. And I will eat his underwear.
During Jazzy's performance in Los Angeles.

I'm especially embarrassed by the mention of Craig David. Just terrible.

Lindsey should do one of these things. I bet his would be much cooler.

What? We're supposed to love this music just because Stevie loves it? She jumps off a bridge, we do too?
