Minneapolis!!!!

Just got back from the show in my hometown of Minneapolis, and let's just say it was an ass kickin evening! First off, I met Lindsey(#1LiddybuckFan) and her friends at their hotel and they followed me downtown. We waited outside the venue and Lindsey showed up at about 5:30 with Kristen, Will, and LeeLee in tow! I'm guessing he's spending easter with her family in Wisconsin as to the reason they were there. He really has a beautiful family people, I'm just so happy for him! At the show Kristen and the kids were 1 row in front of me on the aisle, and right before the show I went up to her and said "i've been a fan of Lindsey's for 30 years, I just wanted to say how he's always been so nice to me whenever I've run into him, and that I'm very happy for him that he has a wonderful family." Kristen was like, "That's so nice of you to say thank you." Througout the concert I watched as all 3 of them had a great time watcing their dad and husband up there and it got me thinking, I can really see why he's in a great place these days. So the predictable old farts were in the front 2 rows, but the crowd was definitely more enthusiastic thatn the snoozefest I sat through in Baltimore a few weeks ago. Tusk starts, and I made a beeline for the stage along with a few others. Got to touch his guitar again. What a blast that was! After the show, we waited outside for him to come out, and as I figured, he went right into the car with Kristen and the kids, which I expected. Oh one other thing, as the show ended and Lindsey exited the stage, Will jumped into his dads arms and the went off stage together. WHat a monent!. So anyway, for me the road trip begins anew Monday, as I'm off to Chicago, Des Moines, Lincoln, 2 in ALbuquerque, and 2 in Boulder. It's never gets old people believe me!

Great review David!
Your dedication to the cause never ceases to amaze me. I don't know why LB doesn't just make you tour manager!

First off, I want to thank David! It was so great to meet him this weekend and share such a phenominal show!! He was a wonderful tour guide! Lori40, it was great meeting you! I'm glad you made it to the show!!

Like David said, he met us at our hotel and we followed him into the city. (Beautiful by the way!!) We managed to brave the cold and watch Lindsey and his family arrive at the venue. David got recognized and a handshake from Lindsey. I have to say, his children and Kristen are just SO beautiful. The kids seemed happy to be with their Daddy!

After that we headed on over to Hard Rock, had a nice dinner and on we went to the show. I honestly thought the crowd was going to suck. I can't descibe why but I just wasn't feeling it. Luckily, so many were drinking. Boy was I wrong!! Before he started Not Too Late, some guy yelled out Countdown and Lindsey just laughed, went to the mic and said, "It's the same guy every show!" Anyway, after every song Lindsey got a standing ovation. The sound was phenomial...seemed louder than usual but I liked that. It seemed like every song last night had even more passion put in it. It's hard to describe in words really. The energy was fantastic and he was feeding off of our audience!! The solo on I'm So Afraid had everyone on their feet going mad...he just kept playing it...and playing it...and playingit. It was amazing!!! It had to go on an extra 2 minutes longer than usual. Brett and Neil kept looking at Lindsey mouthing "WOW!" He had a couple of new speeches...one before It Was You. Obviously because his family was there, he dedicated it to them. He sang the hell out of that song too!! He changed the Red Rover speech a little bit but not much. The band intros were quicker...I think he was trying to get out of there a little earlier.

The security was also an initial concern, but either they are really gung-ho about the audience being right up at the stage at the theatre or Lindsey had a talk with them because during Tusk, the security started waving people up happily. My friend and I were 5 rows back and some how managed to get up at the stage and yes, a miracle happened again! We got to play the guitar!! :blob2: I couldn't see David as he was on the opposite side...but I soon found out he got to play the guitar too. :) Once we were up there obviously we didn't budge. I think my favorite part of the end of the evening was seeing Kristen and the kids in the wings waiting to head out. I had a clear view and during Show You How, Lee Lee and Kristen were dancing a little. SO CUTE!! William looked like he was ready to go but it turns out, he was ready to hug his Daddy!! After Shut Us Down (which he extended a little as well) Lindsey was blowing kisses to the audience, turned around to walk toward the fam and William took off running toward his Dad. Lindsey knelt down and scooped his son up and carried him off stage. :xoxo: We knew he wasn't going to stay after because of Easter and his family etc...but we waited and at least said goodbye and Happy Easter to them. What a wonderful evening!!

All in all...Lindsey left his guts on that stage last night!! We got Bucked hard core!! Woohoo!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

I know this review is a little random, but there's just SO much to try to absorb. :D I'll add more when it comes to me. Things just keep popping into my head. **David, did I leave anything out?

Here are some pics...

Did he play countdown? What were the encoures? I'll be pissed if he played countdown in MN cause the whole crowd at the Pittsburgh show collectively shouted for Countdown to no avail!! Why doesn't he just play it already!?!

BTFLCHLD 04-09-2007 11:40 AM

sounds like everyone had a great time...thanks for the pics! I am glad Lindsey received a family visit - it has been a while.

"David got recognized and a handshake from Lindsey."

It sounds like DavidMN is famous. Are you going to Boulder?

Nope. No Countdown. I wish he would play it too. Thank goodness for Turn It On!

Me too!! Other than the great audience, I think he played so balls out because his family was there too.

David has been to quite a few shows. He's gotten more than just a handshake too! David definitely has positive concert karma.

I can't do any more shows from this leg. :( David will be there though!

It was nice meeting you David. I noticed him and had to say "Hi"

My husband and I were in Row A on the left and WOW..what amazing seats. LB played his heart out. When Lindsey said that he would like to take this crowd on the road with him, my husband was the one that yelled "We'll make time" to which he laughed and repeated. We got a couple points from him and I was on cloud 9 that we were given some little recognition. We were the first ones that security came to to go up to the stage. Right in the center..playing the guitar, getting sweated on..lol

It was the perfect night.

I snuck a couple photos even though the guard sat 4 feet away. Most didn't turn out as I look them from hidden lap level, but I got a couple.

We drove 1000 miles to pray at the alter of Lindsey and were not dissapointed!

Thanks! David is going to have some stories to tell when he returns from his great Lindsey adventure! I spoke with him last night just before/after his 15-min convo with Lindsey...he somehow manages to get with him at the right place/right time.

#1LiddyBuckFan 04-11-2007 04:50 PM

^^ Yeah, he's called me a couple of times today but I can't call him back right now!! :distress: I can't wait to hear about the conversation with LB!!! David is one lucky guy!

Marisol 04-12-2007 12:28 PM

Can someone please post the playlist for this show? Or is it the exact same as others?
