LOL I keep listening to everything form this package before it actually gets released.

I need to stop!

SNicksed 03-20-2007 06:21 PM

I got chills at the end of that. Thanks!

Nixxxed 03-20-2007 06:27 PM

Thanks - that was much better than I had anticipated.

Oh man, I'm fighting a losing battle with myself not to give in to any more spoilers...

amber 03-20-2007 06:58 PM

That is pretty with the orch. I love the flute during the traditional guitar solo part. But what's with Stevie not hitting that low note? Yuck. "took my love, took it (flat as hell) DOWN"
Meh, it's worth it for the rest of the song, which actually sounds diff and has some changes. Very nice, very nice indeed.

Thanks for posting. :xoxo:

i was a bit surprised too...i have been listening to the audience version of the entire show (a lot lately) so it was nice to really hear the symphony in the background...i do wish they would have included gold dust woman...along with beauty and the beast from the same night - those versions are just awesome!

Yeah, sounded good otherwise. That note is usually kinda like that, anyway. Just a little more pronounced, here.

danax6 03-20-2007 07:38 PM

Meh, doesn't leave me hot or cold. The instruments where usually Lindsey's little guitar solo goes sure sound pretty, but other than that it sounds like your typical Landslide. With a crappier ending. What is up with that?

Thanks for sharing though!

DrummerDeanna 03-20-2007 07:39 PM

I liked it. A lot.

So even though I was a nay-sayer at first, looks like I WILL be buying this cd when it comes out

strandinthewind 03-20-2007 08:00 PM

The orchestra is stunningly added and sounds beautiful.

She sounds good as well. I could do without the wells or whatever the hell she is ad libbing at the end. But, I give it a B vocal and A for orchestration. I wish she would have owned it like she did on the Today show that time she held "SNOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW" for like 8 seconds

Was there ever really any doubt? :p

amber 03-20-2007 08:08 PM

Some a you didn't like that ending? I was like "oooo, it's different, fabulous!!!" :p
*sings* lowered expectaaations...

That note on "down", and "around", makes me cringe.

Oh there really was. I didn't realize at first that it would be different versions of things...and I didn't realize the DVD would rock...so I'm not only going to buy it - I'm now looking forward to it!

I love the ooohhhooohhhooohhh's at the end. I wish she did more of that. It's absolutely beautiful  but I do miss Lindsey, when that acoustic guitar kicks in

ontheEdgeof17 03-20-2007 08:42 PM

Even though I want to listen to this, I'm going to wait until next week. :)

sparky 03-20-2007 08:42 PM

The ending is okay. Different. Not thrilling, but different. My birds went nuts about the strings.

To each their own. AND - in a few, I can listen to it on my cool home system and not these crappy little in the laptop speakers.

Watch out for those two flat notes. On a good system, they may cause death or paralysis. With my $20 speakers, I merely ducked into a fetal position, but still, you can feel the dangah (danjah). Where's my emergency bad note kit? Shoot! They warned us to be prepared...that disaster could strike any moment...

Which ones are flat so I can have Seven of Nine adjust my cordical implant to join with her unimatrix!

Can ya tell I am watching the Voyager DVD's for seasons 1-7

Thanks for the tune....

Speaking of Gold Dust Woman - and I don't know how many people have this or not, but from the recent dvd of the Hard Rock show in Florida - right at the begining of the song it appears to be the same orchestration that was used in Melbourne... The violin intro.... Am I hearing things?

Can I tell you you are a geek at this moment? :xoxo: Picard is hot, and he's a Cancer. Go on witcha bad self. As per me, I like the low tech old star trek first, then the Janeaway ones, cause she's a chick who kicks ass, then the Voyager ones, cause they sparked a good new thing with it, and Picard is hot.
God, I never heard the end of the hotness of seven of nine when she came out. heh.

Okay - here's the bad notes: "Took my love, took it (duck and cover!) dowwlwlwn. Climbed a mountain and turned a (duck and cover!) rouldndldndl."

:xoxo: You're strong, and you've sung drunk, you can weather the storm.

strandinthewind 03-20-2007 09:08 PM

Yep - those are pretty bad

Also - Janeway was the captain of Voyager. Picard had the Enterprise :wavey:

Also - I want to touch Seven of Nine in her bikini area and rest my head on her ta ta's - is that wrong?

SpyNote 03-20-2007 09:29 PM

Thanks Sandy.

Since the dedication was cut from the intro, everyone's going to be wondering who on earth Andrew is. (Landslide was dedicated to Aussie concert promoter Andrew McManus and his girlfriend Nicky that night.)

Phoenix 03-21-2007 12:04 AM

That gave me goosebumps and made me tear up. thanx a bunch for sharing.
I love the harp and the guitar together. ahhh Strings, that was great.

yep, i was thinking the exact same thing....i'm sure there'll be those who will think 'it must be her boyfriend'

tommer 03-21-2007 03:54 PM

that's an instant classic. alongside the live '80 and those cute '89 single mixes, that's one of my favorite Landslides ever. i really like it. she's such a great performer, that she can still pour some new life into such a cliched piece. i really really like this one, it's making me very hungry, and this is only crumbs. i need some real food.
