Back home....
 

Well, no Vegas for me. We were well under way, happy, smiling and the care broke down!!!! We had a Honda Odyssey, very nice car, very comfy and we were driving along the I-5, almost into Oregon and the car just shut down, completely. We almost couldn't reach the shoulder. We called the rental company and waited for a few hours. They finally showed up and long story short, they drove us back to Seattle only to tell us that they didn't have another car available until tomorrow morning (the electrical system of our car was totally shot). But at that point it's too late for us to get to Vegas. They're going to reimburse us but it's gonna take awhile before we get that money otherwise I would've flown by myself. I am soooo pissed and that's an understatement. And still I'm gonna try to make it, I'll beg, steal or borrow, I don't care. I want to see Stevie so badly. It's been 18 years since I've seen her solo. Way too long.... I'm thinking about sueing the rental company, the mofo's. How can they give us an unsave car??? We could've been in an accident or worse. Man, I'm so effin' pissed, I'm ready to kill. But I'm not losing hope. I might still make it, if not I'll eat my ticket....

Man, I feel for you. I would be PO'd at the rental for giving you a car that could have had an electrical system fire.

As for trying to still make the show, My advice would be the same one of my close friends would say "Go for it - You only live once".

I'm soooo sorry. That is terrible. But I don't understand, can't you leave tomorrow morning and make the later in the week shows?

Thanks!!!! We might still go for it but Peg is pretty PO'd and she doesn't want a car from that company anymore. Plus the funds are pretty tight now :mad:

If I had tickets for the shows we would but I only have a ticket for the Wednesday show. That's all we could afford but I'm still checking TM and hoping for a (financial) miracle.....

Ohhhh, I thought you had other tix. :( That is weak. I feel so bad for you, if I could get you a ticket I would. :distress: You should sue the car people for intense pain and suffering, lol.

We're actually thinking about that. They put us in danger. But by the time we'll get any money Stevie's tour will be looooong over. Thank you for your sweet offer. Like I said, I'm praying for a miracle and drinking to one, I'm having a "stiff drink" lol.

Yes, we're ok,thank God. We had trouble reaching the shoulder but we made it and made it home safely. This sucks sooooo bad. Like Vanessa said: looks like a case of bad karma. Maybe it wasn't meant to be but I'm not giving up. I'll get there somehow.

Anyone want to lend me some money???? :lol:

Thanks!!! I was really looking forward to it but bad luck got in the way (or bad karma). However, I'm not giving up, I might find a way to get there. Now, if everybody would send me 5 bucks, I'll be there in no time j/k :lol:

Yes, there is and therefore I'm not giving up hope. If I can get the money together I can fly to Vegas on the 21st (which is why I'm still on the computer).

Well, I've called, sent emails, even applied for payday advances and of course I was denied (go figure). I know it can happen so I'm not giving up.

How much??? About 500 bucks....which will be paid back at the end of the month but you're kidding. right?!

You shouldn't have to wait to be reimbursed, it should have been credited to your cc as soon as they couldn't give you another car and they had no other car to use??? thats crazy.....

I totally agree with this- I would be raising holy hell until I was flying (maybe even first class) to Vegas, on the car rental company.

Yeah, I would have made the BIGGEST stink about this. Especially when it comes to Stevie. That guy would have been cowering in fear.
